People Mover Scandal
The story that the media isn't telling about the crooked airport contracts:
- So besides what the sun times is reporting, these are the new cars that have been sitting at O'Hare for over six months. The reason their not being used yet is a) the doors don't quite line up with the existing ones (measure twice, cut once) and b) gee, they just don't work right on the existing track. You would think both of these Minor details would be included in the specs for the bid for the new cars. So the questions that arise from this are, who's responsible for the bid not being accurate? Who's company got the kick up in that bid? Who got the emergency no bid to rectify the situation? Is this why ole Ginger decided to resign unexpectedly?

So some dimwith placed a multi-million dollar order for cars that dont fit. So being the cover up geniuses they are they place another contract to completely swap trackage so the cars some dimwit ordered will work ? No one is fired or in jail and everyone is happy happy. Retirees eat cat food and Rahm slithers away and acts like nothing is wrong. Does that about cover it ? Only in Chicaca.

The SunTimes article mentions the names of the construction companies and owners involved at O'Hare. They didn't go far enough in pointing out how much these people that own these companies are giving the politicians in campaign contributions. I went to the Illinois Board of Elections website and ran a few names. The extent was astounding. Why even Anne Burke, Chief Justice of the Illinois Supreme Court, gets contributions. So how does that work out when she may have to decide a case that involves these companies. Shouldn't judges be above taking money? So in the political life cycle the clouted construction companies give money to the politicians, the politicians then give these companies lucrative contracts and the politicians give the taxpayer's money to the companies. An unethical scheme to enrich both parties and to fleece the taxpayers. This is why the whole system is corrupted and you can never get rid of these politicians. In the mean time all negotiations between politicians and companies doing business with government needs to be videotaped.

Corruption at all levels of govt all over this state and I imagine all over the country. Retired and living in Winnebago County, Rockford, Illinois, area. Worked for the part time for the county here for a few years. The original courthouse was attached to the Public Safety Bldg since sometime in the '70's. It housed the County Sheriff, who left the bldg, the county jail, who left the bldg, leaving only the Rockford PD. The bldg was falling apart after 40 yrs. The main entrance to the court house was in the Public Safety bldg and was going to be demolished. So an new entry was needed. In summary about $500K was spent to remodel a portion of the old courthouse. From the start most of the guys I worked wth all said that the new idea wouldn't work. Doors too small, not handicapped accessible, and a couple of other glaring bad ideas. Project finished, can't use it for exactly the reasons pointed out. No heads rolled, contractor paid, design engineers still working, no pols kicked to the curb. Budget shortfalls cited for laying off 75 people including me. 500K goes a long way to pay for 75 part time employees.
Thought for a second that people mover was referring to rahm, as he and his other democratic geniuses are forcing people to flee this city in droves.
What about the Shart-spitter contracts? The city is paying a fortune for that useless service. There has to be Someone making big donations on this one ! Follow the money !!!
Why isn't the US Attorney looking into this matter?
Stick them homeless in them for living quarters!

The DOA guys raced there to play police, and they dragged a guy off the plane, when they had no business even being there. No authority to do so, just trying to justify their existence, AND THEY FUCKED UP! Why?! Because it was a CUSTOMER SERVICE issue...which is exactly what the dispatched CPD units would have told the UA people. When the CPD units got there, that goofy doctor was already off the plane, bloodied, and toothless. DOA were not the police, still are not the police, and never will be the police. Yet the city is broke and cant pay the pension system as required by law. But lets put that off till we get a Casino. The. What? There is no movement in the police contract or even a whiff that the city is ready or willing to negotiate. But millions of dollars a available not just promised to non working welfare leeches of public taxes and political donors get payed up front.
Maybe Elon musk's boring company is doing a direct tunnel from Mexico to the sanctuary city.

What they should do is take a look at the absolutely unnecessary overtime that a certain lieutenant at O'Hare is using just making himself rich.
While 3 Sergeant's are on duty he feels he needs to show up on weekends and stay a ton of overtime so he can sit in his office and listen to the radio. Can we get a real look into this please? I know him and the commander are buddies so the commander will let him get away with anything despite consequences. But really? 100 hours some months?
Surprisingly, the last Lieutenant never made over time. Very rarely, and somehow Everything went fine. I guess the airport is bankrolling this guy's house or car or tuition. You're not fooling anybody. We know it's a scam.

Why negotiate with the police. There is an election to be won. If I win, we can start negotiating the contract then because I will be stuck with it for 4 years. If I lose, who cares about the contract, let the winner worry

Tommy don't care, he'll still get the pension. Just like all the CEOs for the failed corporations, the terrible leader who destroyed it gets a golden parachute. A true nightmare would be if the current lieutenant took over the commander spot. But I doubt he wants it considering it's a pay cut.
O'Hare PD is DESTROYED. blame the bad management. Modern leadership on this department is a joke. All these idiots must have attended the same management school. I just came from a district and I hoped for a better managed unit. Forget it. Why can't you have an actual police officer lead police officers. The cmdr and Lt were NEVER real cops. That's obvious.
So let's see... new trains that don't fit. Solution: rebuild the stations and tracks so the new trains work. The new rental car place is almost done, so EMERGENCY CONTRACT! Oh wait. The old train cars won't work when the stations and tracks get "fixed", so there won't be enough room for all the people going to get their rental cars. Solution: EMERGENCY CONTRACT! First, we'll get more shuttle buses that the City can run to the rental car place, then we'll get an add on of more cars to match the new ones that were just purchased. You can hear the cash being put in the paper bags now.
So let me get this stright Ginger use to work for Parsons before coming to O'Hare. Parsons get a 200 million dollar people mover project her first year at O'Hare. 2 months ago her 1st deputy gives Parsons and extra 30 million for over runs on project while Ginger is out of town. Two weeks later Susan Duley takes a 5 week vacation (resigns). Ginger comes back from vacation and fires head of O'Hare 21, Puts in his place the head of Parsons. A month later we read in news paper Ginger did such a great job pushing all the mayors projects through . But it's time for a change and a new commissioner will be starting next month. And now all the Deputy Commissioners she put in place in last four years are being escorted out of building by police one by one. Sounds like another black eye for Mayor, Maybe the Feds have gotten involved for the I.G. to act so fast without Ginger even being gone yet. Could there be indictments in Gingers future? And does Susan Doley think just because she resigned the Feds won't come after her? With all the federal money that goes into O'Hare you would think the feds would set up shop at O'Hare it would be like catching fish in a barrel.
