Officer's Home Invaded
- A home invasion in the Longwood Manor neighborhood turned deadly early Thursday, when a 43-year-old man tried to fight off the intruders, and was shot and killed. In an ironic twist, it happened in the home of a Chicago police officer, although that officer was not the victim.
Police said the suspects entered a home near 97th and Harvard through a side window around 3:45 a.m.
When a 43-year-old man inside the home tried to fight off the suspects, one of them shot him in the chest and the back. The victim was pronounced dead at Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn.

Fellow officers from the Chicago Police Department’s 5th District are investigating 11 shootings in less than three weeks, five of them homicides. It’s a section of the South Side familiar with crime.
No word if her home was targeted for her being the police.

STOP THE PRESSES! If this was a criminal shot in the back there would be marches, protests, “no justice no peace”. Oh wait, guess that only applies when it’s a felon who is fleeing while firing at the police. Backwards world here in Chicago, recently traveled and realized just how much the police are demonized here compared to many other parts of the country. No wonder why the suicide rate is so high on this job.
He was convicted for murder and sentenced to 35 years and then released after approximately 18 years. Another example of a convicted murderer getting out early.
He was arrested a couple years ago for fighting the police.

The murdered victim can't come back to life, why should the murderer be released & free to roam? Is the value of the criminal greater than that of the victim?

It's not even an accurate start let alone good. The POTUS is the Guard's commander in chief WHEN they are activated for FEDERAL service. What you are referring to is a domestic issue and requires the governor's orders. It's the Illinois National Guard. He's the govenor of IL and the IL National Guard boss. It is the military but it's primary mission is Illinois and its primary orders are from Illinois and for Illinois. Furthermore, they know nothing about domestic policing. That's not what they do.
CPD , railroad police arrest a crew of railroad car trailer burglars and bingo the criminals are released , alderscum call criminals victims .
