Everything remains the same except for the raises, and anyone who has followed the past Contract arbitrations knows that the door is wide open for decent sized raises when the economy is doing better - which it is.

This is her second run. She first tried four years ago. She announced weeks ago and was recently interviewed on PBS-WTTW/Channel 11 by Phil Ponce.
No one is mentioning Ald. Ed Burke. The 14th Ward is largely Hispanic now, which could present problems for him if he seeks another term. He would be a natural candidate for Mayor, because he has a massive war chest, a formidable political organization and understands the internal and external facets of government. Additionally, the question should be asked if Burke is going to lose would he rather it be for Mayor or Alderman? Also, he has the ability to potentially clear the field.

SCC, why is Ameya Pawar a communist? I think he pledged to only run for two terms and he is abiding by that pledge. He won't run for a third term. In his first election for alderman, he won by like 2% and in his second run, he got like 80% of the vote. In a mostly affluent white ward.
Munoz and McCarthy both got solid votes. Everyone else will spit votes. Munoz will be our next mayor.

Briefly, he made pro-police comments in his speech with no hint regarding indictments etc. but the best line was from a copper that told him as he was about to exit, "Come to Chicago and drain the swamp."

I'm a fireman, and I really liked what Gery Chico said last time he ran. He was against getting rid of the 5th guy ( manning) and was for getting rid of the residency requirement. Hopefully he could put together a campaign good enough for all the city workers to want to vote for him. You know, the people who are forced to live here.
