There have been a few links popping up in the comment sections about creating a GoFundMe effort for the VanDayke family. This is the most cited one.
CBS has linked to it, so it is most likely legit - but CBS is linking to it so others like Jamal what's-his-ass can protest it and attempt to shut it down, thereby punishing a family that is already being punished enough and who had exactly zero to do with any department or court proceedings.
FOP is probably the best place to get information on fundraising, either electronically or via the Credit Union.

I still feel that if you want to make a donation it would be better to go thru th credit union.
With them 100% of the donation goes to the family. With Go Fubd Me, they can keep a
portion of it. Especially if it goes over the goal they keep an even higher percentage.

Do not use go fund me. They charge a fee. They need to get their cut. Fuck them. Instead, just call the credit union. Send your money directly to the Van Dyke family.

If you don’t know, GoFundMe takes a cut of all collections (2.9% + 30¢ per donation).
They’re a good and easy choice for the public sector.
I don’t know how they work and if fraudulent accounts can be established.
Also it’s their prerogative to cancel a campaign due to the public opinion.

Only a Dem AlderThief would do that and go so far as to cross reference using the city database to verify and release to unhinged community organgrinders. Be safe - don’t use GFM.
In the past the Credit Union and smaller banks would establish accounts for charitable contributions.
Time for our member services organizations to step up the effort and get a message how to contribute wholly and fee free to the family as well as many other causes.
The CPFCU account transfer is easily accomplished if you have an account there.
Not sure but I don’t think they work with most other bank transfers.
Someone posted a CPFCU contact but this should be verified by them via mail.
If you are a Dept member - I’d avoid using GFM.

When the judge refused change of venue and certain witness testimony why didn’t Herbert immediately file a motion against the judges rulings and delay the trial until the motions made it all the way up to the Supreme Court if necessary.
Names shouldn't be posted on GFM. I've seen some Anonymous. I don't trust GFM and they take a fairly high percentage.

Instead of bitching about it why don't you donate $1 per month to the Van Dyke family? If every copper donated $1 it could easily be $10,000 a month that would provide his wife with the security of knowing that she can raise their kids without the stress and worry that is probably eating her up. That doesn't even include the non police that could also help out. Think of what the average copper spends just on entertainment every month. Between the cell phone bill, cable, satellite, music subscriptions, Netflix, Amazon Prime, etc etc etc, you probably spend around $300 a month. Then just think about all the nonsense you spend money on like the lottery, shoeshines, alcohol, cigarettes, hair gel, beard grooming supplies, hand sanitizer Etc. Just drink one less beer a month at the bar and we'd be able to help this woman raise her family and send them to decent schools without her aging twice as fast because of all the stress and fear. I think we can each handle a dollar a month.

If even 1/6th of the departmen. (~2K) donated 1 day of VRI/side job. It would make a significant difference for the family. My wife agrees and told me to go in for two. Show the same support you would wish for your family.
My Grandson, age 4, said he wants to donate his "Christmas money" to the Van Dyke family so "they could have a nice Christmas." I couldn't hold back tears when he said that. How can we donate through the Credit Union when neither one of us is with the Police?
Not happy with GFM based upon what I've read, although the thought of making a donation from J-off-Mal, Baa-Rack What's His Name, Special Ed or Phader Phagar does have a certain appeal.

Anytime you use a credit card the processing company charges a fee to the merchant for processing the transaction and depositing the money into their account. When you buy goods or services and pay with a credit card the merchant usually eats the charge as the cost of doing business as they are making a much larger profit. If you are donating money there is no profit so the cost of processing has to come out of the donation.

Rather than be charged for a donation on Go Fund Me, donate to the Van Dyke family via CPFCU. They are accepting donations at each of the four branches or you can drop off a donation at their Washington Boulevard Branch. If sending by the donation by mail, address it c/o The Jason Van Dyke Family. All of the money goes directly to the VDs.

Hey brave keyboard warrior, who forgot to sign your real name to your post. Maybe some of us donated through the credit union or mailed a check directly to the family through a friend. How about eating a mind your own business sandwich.
One of Jamal's followers named Vernita McElroy was taking lots of screen shots of the names of donors on the GoFundMe page and posting them on Jamal's page. Vernita seems to have a family member using some weird hand signs in one of her photos.

Because it doesn't work that way. You preserve issues for appeal. You let the judge make the determinations and then appeal them. You don't get to delay the trial because you don't agree with the judge's ruling.
Herberts firm did not consult FOP when doing this page. Maybe they should have.

It was posted you could donate thru the CP Credit union to his daughter's account....`.......I would never use GFM and don't forget they have to pay state and fed income taxes....

You can donate to the GoFundMe for the VD family under the name of any activist you choose.
I chose Ja'Mal Green because he's got "his team" looking at every single name that has donated. Like that makes someone scared or whatever.
Even if you already gave via the CU you can donate $5.00 on GoFundMe in Greens name.

I’ve been off the job for approx. 3 years literally the minute the verdict was read I donated 1k and il be having a fundraiser for his family soon if I can do that you guys can spare at least $10 a piece let’s make his family financially stable at the very least.

Both CBS and Fox News have Facebook posts connecting to the link and the hatred, threats, and feral ghetto preaching directed towards TVD has brought me to tears.
We have made donations at the CU and via GFM. I can’t repost what these animals have posted, but some of it was beyond disturbing to say the least. I pray for the safety of all CPD and your families, but just wanted to share that the safety of JVD’s family weighs heavy on my heart tonight. I thank all of you for your service.
