Trump Trolls Rahm
- The Justice Department will later this week oppose a pending consent decree the city of Chicago agreed to in the wake of police misconduct allegations tied to the Laquan McDonald case, the Sun-Times has learned.
This comes a day after President Donald Trump told a gathering of police chiefs in Orlando that an agreement between the city and the American Civil Liberties Union of Illinois on stop and frisk policies was “terrible.”
Attorney General Jeff Sessions said in a statement, “Chicago’s agreement with the ACLU in late 2015 dramatically undercut proactive policing in the city and kicked off perhaps the greatest surge in murder ever suffered by a major American city, with homicides increasing more than 57 percent the very next year.
“Now the city’s leaders are seeking to enter into another agreement. It is imperative that the city not repeat the mistakes of the past — the safety of Chicago depends on it. Accordingly, at the end of this week, the Justice Department will file a statement of interest opposing the proposed consent decree. It is critical that Chicago get this right.”
We aren't sure of the niceties involved, but it may be possible for Sessions to order the Federal Courts to stay out of the fight, putting the entire onus (and extensive multi-million dollar costs) solely on the local authorities and courts, which in our opinion, is Constitutionally proper.

Maybe the Justice Department could also inquire about the whole merit process? Back in the 1980's when the Federal Government told the city it had to have meritorious promotions, I'm pretty sure they also didn't tell them to merit promote the stupidest, most corrupt individuals they could find. Sessions in order for Chicago to be safe again he needs to start at City Hall the County building the Statehouse start the indictments use the FBI the Federal Bureau of investigation to go in there start taking computers start getting the Canaries in there to talk you’ll find out so much about the massive corruption that is causing all of this and allowing all of this to happen! And to think a major liberal magazine major liberal organization is Calling out the city of Chicago as the most corrupt in United States of America and nothing is being done when they know what they know it is telling that they are going against her all the other liberals that have caused all of this!

Yawn, political theater, I would expect some federal judge in California to over rule the JD and allow the consent to go forward. Even if blocked by the JD, Rahm would ignore the ruling and Preckwinkle and Lightfoot would push it through

All the doj needs to do is track the federal funding that was sent to the Chicago Police Department for training and equipment and find out exactly where it went and where it was spent and then hold people accountable in office at City Hall Heads Will Roll.

Sorry SCC, but the Attorney General, and Dept of Justice, has zero control or input over Federal Judges and the judiciary. The Dept of Justice is part of the Executive Branch and is under Article II of the U.S. Constitution.
While Federal Judges are under Article III of the Constitution. Article III, Section 1 of the Constitution established the Supreme Court and congress establishes all 'inferior courts': District and Appellate Courts. It's all part of the separation of powers and three co-equal branches of government.
All that aside, IMO Sessions could initially lose and then Win his appeal -- which I think he would just to piss of Tiny Dancer, as the Appellate Judges are more conservative -- and Pro Police and Law & Order. Pres Trump appointed Amy Coney Barrett to this court and she will likely replace Ruth Bader Ginsburg when she's gone from SCOTUS in a couple years.
One last thing, it's absurd that this Fed Judge Dow won't allow the FOP to be allowed any input into this bullshit consent decree. All existing parties detest the police and are pro criminal. Chicago will become unlivable.

The U.S. Attorney General cannot order "order" the Federal Courts to do diddly-squat. He certainly should have some schwing at the DOJ, who may or may not jump into the fray, but so far, he hasn't seemed inclined to get involved with such drivel. Personally, I would be surprised if Sessions does a damned thing about it unless DJT orders him to do so. And maybe not even then.

You guys will get jammed if you chase them. If they are parked they will be gone again by the time the owner is notified.
