Lack of Outrage

  • A toddler fatally shot Saturday night in the Hermosa neighborhood on the Northwest Side has the grim distinction of being the youngest person to be killed by gun violence in the city this year.

At 10:17 p.m., 2-year-old Julien Gonzalez and an 18-year-old man were standing near an alley in the 2200 block of North Kilbourn Avenue when shots were fired from the street’s end, according to Chicago police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office.

Just before the shooting, two females were fighting in the alley between Kilbourn and Kenneth avenues when the shots were fired in their direction, police said.
Remember, police are the problem.

UPDATE: A protest.

And once again, gang-vs-gang violence claims an innocent, with no one coming forward (yet).

Police are the problem at least media again stirring up the narrative:

How it took two weeks for a shooting victim to get the attention of Chicago police
http://www.chicagotribune.com/news/local/breaking/ct-met-chicago-unsolved-shootings-20180925-story.html

Excerpt:
Department records show that, on the night of the shooting, Harrison District officers responded to a call of shots near where Williams was shot. But when they arrived, they couldn’t find any victim, Guglielmi said.

Asked why her friend or boyfriend didn’t call 911, Williams said she believes they were overwhelmed by the shooting and were focused on getting to the hospital.

*so police responded to a call as we do every second no victim no caller wtf are police supposed to do assholes? Again and again painting the we hate the police narrative so sick of democratic inspired media your a total disgrace to society! When President Trump started the dishonest fake media and when he points at you when he is talking and saying all the bad things lies you do he is correct!

A lack of outrage is because people have become numb to the constant shootings.

Not a good attitude but, "Hey! It's Chicago. Expect it."

Morale is down on the police force and I think the "Ferguson Effect" will be replaced with the "Chicago Effect".

Chicago Effect? More and more shootings with less and less police intervention or any involvement. Who cares anymore?

Hopefully, whoever wins as Mayor comes in and replaces Johnson with a real "law-and-order" Superintendent BUT that is unlikely to happen because you have all these outside influencers.

This rudderless leadership is the result of years of clout promoting the wrong people into critical positions. Command staff is riddled with "personalities" and special "egos" with weird character traits.

It won't be just replacing the Superintendent to get CPD on the right track again. Real results will depend on tearing out all the Merit Hacks which again is unlikely.

"What you do is too ugly for us to handle..."

your bed?

Of course when "The Police" heed your screams
and arrive to do what is necessary to stop
"Ugly" you adult children have the audacity
to quibble about how it's done.

"The Cops were TOO MEAN, TOO MANLY, TOO AGGRESSIVE,
TOO COMBATIVE! THEY HIT TOO HARD AND DRIVE TOO FAST!
WAAAAHHHH! Couldn't they have been nicer about it?
We've been triggered and want to go to our safe space
away from THEM!"

Enjoy the "Ugly" you desperately wished for...

As for The Police?

Protect yourselves from THEM no matter what
and at all costs.

Their joy is in seeing you and your families
ruined for the acts/actions of a few.

"You Cops are FINALLY gonna get it!"

Yeah... WE got it alright...

President Trump touted the "stop and frisk" policy in a speech Monday to the International Association of Chief of Police Annual Convention in Orlando, saying it's a policy that works and was meant for places like Chicago.

The president, who regularly brings up Chicago when talking about crime, said that city should strongly consider the controversial "stop and frisk" policy used when his lawyer Rudy Giuliani was mayor of New York city.

"I have directed the attorney general's office to immediately go to the great city of Chicago to help straighten out the terrible shooting wave. I'm going to straighten it out and straighten it out fast," Mr. Trump said. "There's no reason for what's going on there. I've told them to work with local authorities to try to change the terrible deal the city of Chicago entered into with ACLU, which ties law enforcement's hands and to strongly consider stop and frisk. It works and it was meant for problems like Chicago. It was meant for it. Stop and frisk."

I’ve been a sergeant for 10 years (I didn’t get promoted to lieutenant because I didn’t want it) and have no absolutely no C.R. numbers (so you know I worked in the ghetto). The Van Dyke incident was entirely a bad shoot…period. Just read the Use of Force Model. Um, I mean the New Use of Force Model…or whatever the hell else the legal department will replace the Use of Force Model with next period. I’ve been on the job a long time and that old saying still holds true: just follow the General Orders and you got nothing to worry about. Go ahead…read GO 03-02 and the Use of Force Model in your FOP book, I’ll be here and I got plenty of time (I’m a sergeant in a unit). Read the Illinois Criminal Statues 720 ILCS 5/12-4 and 720 ILCS 5/9-2 too. Murderers in Cook County get charged with Murder and Aggravated Battery from the same incident all the time. Nothing has changed in the last 20 years so quit bitching. I still live on the South-Side, worked in the 8th District and things have only gotten better. You guys got to act smarter. Forget about the guns and learn “verbal judo” and “de-escalation”. It always works. Ask me how I know. None of the bad guys in Chicago use body armor or use high-capacity semi-automatic weapons. I still use the revolver I bought off a retired copper. Just ask any range guy or tactical trainer and they will agree with me and tell you that’s good enough for this job. I’m totally safe and a set a great example for younger officers and spend my uniform allowance (that the FOP fought for) on other things besides stupid uniforms and gear. Not doing the job is not an option either. Just look at the 8th District coppers who didn’t respond to the scene that night. Everybody knows their names now and boy…are they in a lot of trouble! I’m retiring in January and when I accept my award at the Christmas party next year morale will have improved, Van Dyke won’t be on the minds of coppers facing a lethal threat and we will have a pro-police mayor in City Hall. So stop being a crybaby…friggin crybabies.

The mentally deficient Chicago media is too busy doing jerkoff articles on players involved in the VanDyke railroad job. The Special Prosecutor from Kane County is now an All-Star! And an article about the father and son that half witnessed the shooting and how they felt that they just had to speak up for what they thought was the right thing to do! Honestly, you would think that VanDyke was the Oklahoma Bomber the way the media is covering his post guilty verdict. But when a 2 year old gets shot in the neck by a gangbanger? Eh, it's Chicago. Stuff like that happens.

OT: Perhaps this could be its own subject.

This is a good read. We don't all need to be CIT trained to show some restraint and compassion. Something to consider when dealing with people with mental illness.

https://www.bbc.com/news/stories-45739335

Cops have plenty of compassion and restraint - if they didn't there'd be a lot more videos of assholes getting their heads caved in.

Compassion is given when it's due - elderly person who needs some assistance (and isn't the neighborhood asshole). Some little kid (who's not the neighborhood Yummy POS) that is lost, or out wandering at 3AM - copper puts the kiddo in the car to keep him warm while waiting for an ambulance.

But on the flip side - unbridled compassion can get you killed because you have your guard down, so it's gotta be tempered with a very healthy dose of "head on a swivel", situational awareness. Too many instances of too many lying, cheating, savage J/O's out there playing the "crying" or "i cain't breathe!" bullshit to get a copper into a situation where he becomes the victim to some demented game. Fuq dat - cops got families they'd like to go home to.

So some fucking bouncing down the street, yelling at the moon, walking on the sidewalk w/o pants mental case needs something? Grrrreeeeeeaaaat! Call the guys in the white coats who have R.N, M.D, M.S., or PhD after their name and let THEM handle it. Cops are there to handle the law enforcement stuff - not the medical stuff. Even no outward signs of mental illness? Fambily claims that ole girl is having a breakdown? Fuck it - call a MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL. Then that person can call the cops if the patient doesn't want to cooperate and needs to be arrested.

Addict flipping around from an OD? Call a paramedic - all the copper needs to do is to keep the scene clear so the EMTs can do their job, and so no other dope fiends steal the dope from the one leaving this world.

Oh, and look at the source - BBC - fucking UK took the guns away from their street cops entirely, they're lucky they let them have batons to fend off the criminals who have guns and giant knives (yeah, the ole UK has a "turn in your knives" boxes now too).

Fuck that. If they’re mentally ill, call someone else. I’m not a psychologist. I’m the police. Don’t call me if your car isn’t running. I’m not a mechanic. Don’t call me if your furnace isn’t working. I’m not a HVAC guy. JVD, Rialmo both had to deal with mentals. One is in jail, the other is gonna lose his job. The incident in 015 were the nutbag (high on god knows what) was bouncing the female copper’s head on the street and she didn’t shoot because she didn’t want to be the next viral video....no good comes from it for the police. Let the mental health professionals deal with it, the the social workers deal with it, let their families deal with it, let the rev’runs, the SJW’s, the media, the community, or the politicians deal with it. Compassion went out the window for me a long time ago. No one gives a flying rats ass about us. It’s been Us vs Them for a long time and I’m fucking done with “Them”.

Kid out when he should have been in bead, hanging with some piece of shit ok with mom. But it's the police that don't care? More than one person knows who fired the shots. But don't hold your breath waiting for them to do the right thing. It's going to get worse before it gets better. So sitting in the car makes more sense than trying to deal with people that have mental problems. If all else fails and you do have to soot someone to protect the public or yourself shoot once or twice. That way you will only be charged with aggravated battery once or twice.

If it is a post mocking these types we unfortunately have on this job (which I suspect), well done. If this is a real post, it is full of terrible advice and is not factual at all, so you very well would be an inside douche in a small unit, sitting around polishing your revolver.

To the tool of 86-3.

I am a lieutenant because I earned it. I've never been a merit anything and took only what I've earned. I do not tell people how I achieved my rank, that is generally shown in my leadership and by my actions. To say you didnt "get" it because you didn't want it, you're full of shit and easily seen through. You're bitter because someone didn't hand it to you and you "couldn't" earn it.
You are 100% wrong in your explanation of the JVD shooting, so you better use that time your stealing from the Department and not doing your job, by sitting and hiding your lazy ass in the Unit, and use some of that time to re-read the statutes you quote. If you have trouble comprehending them, take the words in smaller blocks and understand what you read before you move on to the next section. JVD was justified in shooting the offender, however, he became overzealous and fired too many rounds beyond reasonableness. That's where he went wrong. There was nothing criminal about his actions, he was persecuted for political purpose.
I don't know how you made the rank of sergeant, but it's obvious that you are overwhelmed in your position, and your supervisory skills are not up to par. Whatever you were trying to say about JVDs situation did not come across very well, and you've only got a little time left to improve those skills. You'll be respected more and more effective in your position if you learn how to better communicate, and speak with knowledge. No one, and I mean no one cares if you have or had Cr numbers, that only means you didn't know about some or did little or nothing on this job. Aggressive police officers and effective leaders do not have to rack up Cr numbers. But they come with the job and have been increasingly popular as times have changed. I've been an accused in several Cr investigations merely because of my position in relation to allegations against other Department members, so you not having any does not bode well for you, and more likely puts you in the class of standing on your subordinates rather than with them or under them for support. I'll stop with my rant on you, you and everyone else here has the idea of where I'm coming from. If you not the jagoff you sound like, re-read my sentence regarding communication skills, and if you are, well then all of us can't wait until you finally leave. And I may be your boss hoping so as well. You've certainly earned the nickname Tool, but believe me, it's not something to be proud of.

So stop being a crybaby…friggin crybabies."

Glad I don’t work for you Sgt..I bet the District can wait until your gone

There is NOT one range officer that supports or recommends a revolver on the street. Thank god you are retiring very soon. What pro police mayor is running for office? Morale will improved? Why? The exempts we have now are clueless. Van Dyke will never be forgotten but you the day after your retirement. You are a relic from the past and completely out of touch with the streets. SMDH

""I am a lieutenant because I earned it. I've never been a merit anything and took only what I've earned. I do not tell people how I achieved my rank, that is generally shown in my leadership and by my actions. To say you didnt "get" it because you didn't want it, you're full of shit and easily seen through. You're bitter because someone didn't hand it to you and you "couldn't" earn it."

You know Lou every LT. says they exact same thing.

Every single one.

When a police officer gets shot or killed there is NO OUTRAGE. When a gangbanger gets shot or killed there is OUTRAGE !!!!

When a police officer gets shot or killed there is NO OUTRAGE.

When a gangbanger gets shot or killed there is a street memorial with fake reverends, candles, teddy bears, a scribbling board or wall, photos of the dearly departed and plenty of crying and wailing and proclamations of "dis gotta stop!"

Only when a gang banger is deservedly dispatched to their maker by a police officer is their anger, outbursts, protests, chanting, marching and OUTRAGE !!!! Plus all the other shit mentioned above.
