The Honors Funeral was beyond impressive, and the BEAUTIFUL and TALENTED young Officers rendition of Amazing Grace brought me to tears. I’ve been to way too many of these and I guess practice,even of funerals, makes them perfect and that is even sadder. God Bless the Jimenez Family and remember their pain in your prayers.

Hey Rahm...

It was painfully apparent that you
meant not a word that you said.

It's appalling that you had a mouthful
of God's name and you have nothing
Godly in you.

A modern era Pharisee you are:

Matthew 6:5

"And when thou prayest, thou shalt not be as the hypocrites are:
for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and in the corners
of the streets, that they may be seen of men. Verily I say unto you,
They have their reward."

Don't you have some other defenseless people
to snatch health insurance from or some
similar such?

You'll have something else to praise yourself for...

On behalf of the 3rd Watch/002nd District I would like to thank all those outside police departments who came from near and far (many driving hundreds of miles in winter weather), to salute Officer Samuel Jimenez and mourn with his family and fellow brothers and sisters of law enforcement and the CPD. I know there were more departments and I am sorry if I missed any. I did see these departments inside the chapel, but I missed some as I was unable to read their patches from a distance or in passing by. Forgive me if I missed naming your department.

No particular order just off memory.

* Illinois State Police
* Chicago Fire Department
* Cook County Sheriffs
* All various local police and fire Departments
* DesPlaines PD and Fire Department

* NYPD
* Boston PD
* Dallas PD
* Fort Worth PD
* Houston PD
* Cincinnati PD
* Madison PD
* Louisville PD
* Polk County Iowa Sheriffs

* Members from the United States Military
* United States Federal Agencies

Your presence was very much appreciated by Sam's 002nd District/3rd Watch fellow officers.

Thank you to all those officers and firemen who blocked intersections, driveways, and streets and who stood for hours in the bitter cold and wind to stand at attention and render a final salute to Sam. We saw you all from the coach buses and we are proud to call you our brothers and sisters!

Thank you also to those civilians who waved and held flags of the City of Chicago as we passed by.

Thank you to the young lady CPD Officer for her beautiful rendition of Amazing Grace. You let the song sing itself without any dramatic and unnecessary theatrics that so many performers seem to feel the need to add.

May the Good Lord bless you all and allow for safe travels home, Amen!

002nd District/3rd Watch PO

Did anyone notice that Suzana Mendoza not only wore blue jeans to Officer Jimenez’s funeral, but she left early - yup, I was working outside during the services, saw her arrive with a black hooded, long puffy coat and winter boots. And blue jeans! She had her hood down as she arrived.

After the homily and during communion, I saw her walk out past the Brotherhood for the Fallen trailer with her hood up and drawn so tightly that you could hardly see her face; but I knew it was her because I saw her walk in with the same coat, boots and blue jeans.

Any idea where she was going or what was more important to a politician running for mayor than honoring a fallen police officer? I’d LOVE to know!!

There was a guy representing the State of Georgia Police Department and he was not wearing any winter jacket. He was just wearing a long sleeve shirt, I'm sure had to be wearing some type thermal gear underneath but it was cold. He was hard core. Thanks Brother!!!

The Supt went nuts about the funeral being screwed up and called a bunch of exempts down to be yelled at. Georgas must have pointed out the mistakes to the Mayor.

Why was Rahm allowed to use this situation to grandstand?? Why?? Obama's mere presence at the 5 Dallas Policemens funeral was unbelievable, only topped by his inappropriate, untimely, racist speech. Even though it's not the venue, these losers should be run out, after all, they are the ones that chose officers untimely deaths to use to spout their hate and further their own agenda. 🇺🇸

With all due respect , after that miserable performance by Rahm it would be completely appropriate that everyone in a uniform turn their back to him in all future public settings. He means NOTHING of what he says and dishonors all in attendance.......

Rahm and Mrs Fenner, do you 2 really think any copper bought any of the bullshit that was coming outta your mouth? We know you did it all for the TV. The officer who spoke before you 2 goofs was outstanding, thats what happens when you speak the truth and from the heart. Neither of you 2 understand what that is though.

Agreed channel 9 took the time,and did great coverage on our hero and men and woman of law enforcement! The other stations were to worried covering their game shows,and soap operas getting millions in advertising revenue while channel 9 showed why it is called "Chicago's very own!"

Probably to campaign in a community where an officer being shot doesn’t really affect the vote

I watched the funeral and I did not see the news say anything about her being there. I saw the idiot that wrecked this department. Maybe she just wanted to pay her respects quietly.

Well now,keep letting our Special Functions boss Eric Carter run these funerals and it will continue to be a mess. He just doesnt have the smarts t ok do the job. EDDIE JOHNSON SCREWED WITH GEORGAS BECAUSE ROUSSELL DIDNT LIKE HIM . SMART THING TO DO WOULD TO BRING GEORGAS BACK.
