More Mag Mile Melees

  • The Magnificent Mile's infamous teen mobs were out in force on Black Friday and police say one man who fell victim to the hordes is a U.S. Army soldier. A large group of teenagers that police shooed away from Water Tower Place on Friday afternoon wound up beating and robbing the military man inside the State-Chicago Red Line station minutes later, according to police reports and CPD sources.

Police moved the group of teens away from Water Tower shortly after 2 p.m. on Black Friday. Less than 20 minutes later, police tactical teams assigned to the nearby L station reported that “a mob went into the subway and wound up robbing somebody.”

That somebody was a 31-year-old soldier in the U.S. Army who was helping a woman exit the train, prosecutors said today. The mob argued with the soldier about being inconvenienced by his courtesy and then attacked, beat, and robbed him as he tried to walk up to street level. The soldier suffered swelling and bruising across his face and body, according to a police report. Police arrested two adults and two juveniles at the scene.
And once again, the only real coverage is at the CWB blog. Both named offenders are out on probation from juvenile crimes, so it looks like they haven't learned a lesson from their early brushes with the justice system. Five bucks says they won't learn anything different from this latest brush either.

Oh, they learned, just what they always learn, that they can do whatever the fuck they want, to whomever they want, until that one time only lesson is delivered to them, point blank, blink of an eye and heart stopping in the extreme.

This is what the democrat plantation slaves want, this is what they get.

And the icing on the cake: the democrat required low clearance rate will be much appreciated by the law abiding.

A good friend of mine is former special forces. 2 $h!the@d$ 1 with a knife and 1 with a bat tried to rob him in in Minneapolis a year or so back. It didn't end well for either of them, All 3 had to go to the hospital to get checked out, knife guy was unconscious, bat guy was so scared when my buddy leaned in and whispered "I've killed a hell of a lot better men than you for a lot less" that he lost all bowel control. My buddy got hit in the arm with the bat and had to get his arm looked at. While at the hospital he volunteered to elicit any and all information about previous crimes the $h!the@d$ had committed, he just needed 5 min and maybe bucket or water, but he guaranteed results.

What most excited my buddy was that he actually got to look bat guy in the eyes when when bat guy mentally broke. He found that quite fascinating.

So moral of the story sometimes good things do happen when these $h!the@d$ mess with he wrong person.

Absolutely not. Violent M1s in desirable areas are routinely herded up and shipped back where they came from on the subway. Stay off of Chicago Ave, including the Red Line. Avoid the Macy's, mall and Water Tower on Michigan Ave. Don't even walk by them walk around the block if you need to. Be on the lookout for M1s in packs who are looking to beat and rob you, especially if you're carrying shopping bags. Keep your phone in your pocket. Don't give any solicitors the time of day.

Why would you come here? Crime is out of control in tourist areas.

"Out of towner, I am thinking of visiting Chicago over Christmas the holiday. Is it safe for me to ride the subway around Chicago during my visit?"

I think you're better off visiting NYC during the Christmas season. There's more to see and do over there, and it's safer. Chicago is currently a mess. If you're not worrying about getting robbed, there's the possibility of getting raped, carjacked, shot, stabbed and/or murdered. The "L" is not safe at all and neither is Uber. If crime doesn't deter your decision in visiting Chicago, just be extremely vigilant and cab it to places you want to visit.

It's too bad about the city. It's beautiful, but unfortunately has an ugly segment of people and an even uglier (one party) government that has ruined it for everyone else to truly enjoy.

Absolutely, positively, unequivocally, 100% NO. It is not safe.

Nothing in Chicago is safe any longer. People robbed in broad daylight in 'good' neighborhoods, in restrooms at hotels on the 'Gold Coast', while sitting in traffic, while just sitting in their car, while getting out of their car, while getting into their car, while entering their building, and even while sitting in their living room!

The Powers-that-be refuse to let the Cops do their jobs, and the criminals are running amok. So just forget it. It's simply not worth your lives, property, mental health, or being permanently scarred/maimed over.

Pick someplace else - preferably not someplace run by Democrats as they all tend to be completely screwed up.

I respond:

Not entirely. The worst problems this Summer and now Black Friday shopping day were mobs of South Side (certain racial group) youths taking the Red Line train to basically invade the North Michigan Avenue shopping district - harass and rob people, shop lift on North Michigan Ave. When the cops chase the mob off of Michigan Avenue or off the Lakefront path where they were attacking people this summer, the mob retreats to their entry point the Red Line. So you don't want to be caught in a good downtown, River North, Near north side neighborhood when these invading mobs of wilding "youths" attack people - i.e. folks like you, tourists, people from the suburbs.

The Chicago mainstream media will almost completely cover up these attacks on you and yours like the one near lethal attack (did he die) of a suburban young man and his girlfriend this summer.

Out of towner, I am thinking of visiting Chicago over Christmas the holiday. Is it safe for me to ride the subway around Chicago during my visit?"

As a former city resident now residing in the far north burbs, I would say a lot has changed in the past 10 years. Even in the off hours, my biggest problem used to be encountering aggressive beggars, scam artists and the mentally ill. Even so, they would soon move on and harass someone else. I used to enjoy bringing my family downtown for special events, especially around the holidays. Now, not so much. Robberies and mob action are far more common, even in broad daylight. Avoid large groups of teens, don't dangle your phone around (it's bait), and keep your head on a swivel. Ride during busy times and watch for distractions that can lead to pick pockets (many work in teams). This is actually the first year I'm thinking of carrying a "dummy" wallet with token cash and maybe expired credit cards while keeping my real one securely hidden. If that isn't an indictment of what this city has become, then I don't what is. Stay safe...

The 1984 New York City Subway shooting took place on December 22, 1984, when four teenagers, – Barry Allen, Troy Canty, Darrell Cabey and James Ramseur – were shot by Bernhard Goetz on a New York City Subway train in Manhattan.[1][2][3][4] All four were seriously wounded.
Goetz, who had used an unlicensed firearm in the shooting, surrendered to police nine days later and was charged with attempted murder, assault, reckless endangerment, and several firearms offenses. A jury found him not guilty of all charges except for one count of carrying an unlicensed firearm, for which he served eight months of a one-year sentence. In 1996, Cabey, who had been left paraplegic and brain damaged as a result of his injuries, obtained a civil judgment of $43 million against Goetz.[5]

Don't attempt to correct anyone's behavior.
Don't gab with your group, be observant.
Etc.

I agree with a few of your suggestions but all in all, they make people out to be weak. Fatal mistake. Show no fear. Walk the streets like you own them. It worked for me before becoming the police, during active duty, and retirement too.

Out of towner, I am thinking of visiting Chicago over Christmas the holiday. Is it safe for me to ride the subway around Chicago during my visit?

Yes if you are a liberal media type it is very safe. Make sure you take the red line. You love the ambiance and accuturemonts the community provides.

If you want to, then go out in daylight or early evening hours, stay with the crowd, try to take cans or Uber,. Watch for crowds that do the wilding, and do all you can to stay safe. Sorry I don't have better advice than this. Of you want, write aettwr or email to the mayor's office, asking if he plans on hiring greater number of police officers.
