Mendoza Leaked Video
- There’s never been much doubt that Susana Mendoza would jump into the crowded race to replace Mayor Rahm Emanuel as soon as she was safely re-elected as state comptroller.
But what little doubt there was disappeared on Friday.
WBEZ-FM Radio got a hold of a video of Mendoza declaring her candidacy for mayor.
Reporter Dan Mihalopoulos tweeted a short clip of the video where Mendoza, dressed in a grayish-green cable sweater, is saying, “I’m Susana Mendoza and I’m running for mayor of Chicago. And I ask you to join me on this journey together.”
The premature release comes at a difficult time for Mendoza. It gives her Republican opponent for state comptroller Darlene Senger more ammunition to say Mendoza has one foot out the door.
The Hispanic coalition has been very quiet as the election approached. One political arm or another bought off Chewy with Gutierrez's spot so he wouldn't fracture the Hispanic vote the way the black vote has been splintered.
The obvious goal here is to get Mendoza into the runoff and then cobble together a coalition of Hispanic and liberal white voters to roll over the Prickwrinkle machine. Someone suggested that the biggest loser here is Prickwrinkle herself and now she has to back out gracefully. We're of the opinion that this might just derail the Vallas campaign and cripple McCarthy. We're also wondering if Prickwrinkle jumped in to drive out lesser funded black candidates and stop Vallas from peeling off black parents who remember the schools ran (semi-)smoothly when he was in charge.

McCarthy and Vallas might want to take a good long look and then beat feet to Susana's door.
McCarthy might want to be Superintendent again (oh no!) and Vallas might want the schools job again. Hey, it beats being unemployed when either or both are not in the final two. Jumping on the Susana Express train now is better than being left at the station with no favor owed to you.
Toni needs a good excuse to drop out before she gets embarrassed. Mild heart attack? Mysterious illness? Or just "voluntarily" throw her support to Susana saying she now realizes two full-time jobs will mean neither position would be getting her full attention and, as the head of the Cook County Democratic Party, anoint Susana as a great candidate. Toni can play nice, look magnanimous, not be embarrassed and make Susana a friend, all in one move.
Besides Preckwinkle, McCarthy and Vallas the other announced candidates are Daley, Brown, Lightfoot, Wilson, Chico, Enyia, Green, Kozlar, LaRaviere, Roney and Sales-Griffin. Joyce is still on the fence.
But what do any of them have to offer that will help Mendoza? Enyia can contribute two rappers. Brown is getting indicted. Wilson can give her $20 dollars cash money. Chico could pair with Vallas again and run the schools. Lightfoot can deliver some lesbian votes. And, because of the name and previous employment in high government positions, it would be beneath Daley to be a second fiddle and, on the surface, the remaining five candidates have nothing to offer.
It could all come together for Mendoza. A coalition of Preckwinkle, McCarthy, Vallas and Chico behind her and an endorsement by Daley just might make her the second female Mayor of Chicago. We shall see.

On the Northwest side (016 District) CPD Sergeant Amiee Kessem is running for Il. State Rep. in the 19th State Rep. District against incumbent Robert Martwick. I will preface this by saying that I am retired from CPD and that I do not know Kessem nor ever ran into her while on the job. My point is that she is really getting smeared by Martwick in this race. So far I have received 14 glossy mailers and numerous robocalls from the Martwick campaign attempting to besmirch Kessem. Martwick says Kessem opposes a woman's right to choose even in cases of rape and incest. He says she will elimate breast cancer screenings fo 12,000 women. She will allow dangerous criminals and the mentally insane to walk into gun shops and walk out with deadly military style assault rifles. Can Martwick prove any of this?
Pretty inflammatory rhetoric right? So I went to Kessem's website and looked on the internet for news stories to see Kessem stands for any of these accusations. I found none. Kessem's website platform is about reducing taxes, spending, and career politicians like Madigan. Kessem pointed out Martwick has endorsed Preckwinkle for Mayor, Foxx for SA, Arena for Ald., and Berros for Assessor.
On one of those glossy mailers from Martwick there appears a photo of him and another man, two women an 3 children taken in downtown Chicago. The two women and one of the children are wearing the "pussyhats" (remember Madona wearing one at the protest march in Washington when she said she wanted to blow up the White House). Maybe the photo was taken at the Chicago protest march.
I think it is clear who to vote for, please support one of our own, call your friends, relatives and neighbors, start destroying the Chicago Machine.
Susan Mendoza, the protégé of Michael Madigan becomes the Comptroller, she then withdraws from the office to run for Mayor of Chicago. Then Govenor JB the Hutt, the protégé of Michael Madigan, appoints another clout person to fill the remainder of Mendoza's term. This is how it is done in Illinois. Like a quick game of three card monte on the voters. You lose!
Don’t forget Susie and “Herbie I ain’t in no gangs” embarrassment situation! Then Barry Obama was here yesterday she was on stage being promoted by him! No way no how should she even be in any office, just because she’s Hispanic?

There’s a CR on Kessem, action to be taken after the election so as not to influence the election. Why would you vote for someone too stupid to follow Dept rules about campaigning as a Chicago Police Department member? And pro-union? Like her benefactor Rainer? I’m hesitant to say Mendoza is pro-police, because I don’t want the Chicago media to attack her for supporting us, but it’s inevitable. As a state representative, she was often our strongest or only “D” vote. She’s not a lunatic socialist like Toni and is fiscally responsible. Of the current candidates, she’s the only one who wouldn’t turn Chicago into a giant Gary, Indiana. I support her 100%.

How about that she has management experience on the scale of running a large city and can do the job. Is that too much to ask?

I don't see anything positive in any of the potential mayors.
The Police Department is in a crisis situation. It needs rebuilding. No one is even aware of this.

You need to take a look at what Vallas has publicly stated about reducing our pay and pensions via an Illinois constitutional amendment in order to reduce the city and states mounting pension debt. At this point, Mendoza isn't looking too bad.
