Shades of Wenger

  • Chicago police detectives are investigating after a woman was found dead in the Far Northwest Side home of a former Chicago police officer that was the scene of a 12-hour standoff last year.

The woman, 28, of northwest suburban Mount Prospect, was found unresponsive around 6 p.m. Saturday in a residence in the 6500 block of North Onarga Avenue in the Edison Park neighborhood, police said.

The Cook County medical examiner’s office has not ruled on the cause or manner of the woman’s death pending further review. Detectives are conducting a death investigation.

The former police officer called 911 after he discovered the woman lying on the floor, police said.
This isn't going to end well.

Don't you just hate it?

Every time I stumble to the bathroom and I step on a dead woman in the hallway it really pisses me off!

The least they could do is avoid the path from the bedroom to the bathroom.

So 3 Rocket Scientist's from the West side go to a strip club and get wasted, they then get into a car and get lost. So they whip out the I-Phone and ask SIRI for directions, and end up driving into the Little Calumet river. One guy gets out and stumbles to the nearest road, he gets help form a motorist who calls 911. Seems the only survivor doesn't tell anyone he crawled out of a sinking car and his 2 friends are still in it.

But of course the EXTENDED family and play cousins merge on the Yacht Club and are blaming everyone for the tragedy except for the 3 guilty idiots who got drunk and drove into a river. Family was out there hooting and hollering that there is no sign or a barricade or chain at the boat launch. They just looking for a payout.

Always look to deflect the blame of your stupidity to someone else for their poor choices.

Thankfully they didn't enter the Ford or Ryan expressway the wrong way and kill some innocent motorist.

The family should blame the Strip Club (FACTORY) for allowing them to become so intoxicated that they cant even follow SIRI's directions.

This is how Chicago journal-mopes at the fibune are fighting
The Police push-back against the consent decree.

And speaking of...
They buried this hit piece
when the put the "ex chicago cop"
hit piece up...

-As reform gains traction, Chicago police union pushes back-

"Comprehensive police reform is gaining significant traction
in Chicago after decades of damaging scandals, as politicians
and activists line up behind an overhaul that soon could
have the force of a federal judge behind it."

~SNIP!~

"The Chicago Fraternal Order of Police is digging in on multiple fronts.
The union is in court trying to stop the consent decree, and it’s fighting
Mayor Rahm Emanuel’s other reform efforts at the state level and through
local labor grievances...."

Perhaps if Rahm weren't such a profligate breaker of contract and labor
laws, FOP wouldn't be forced to "fight" Rahm's bullshit "reform efforts."

Slippery syntax and omission are being used to cast Policemen
via FOP as insubordinate instead of a accurately portrayed as
employees trying to protect themselves from having rights and
due process protections peeled away in a misdirected effort to
combat the overheated narrative of "Blue Wall of Silence."

Bullshit, agenda driven reporting by the fibune.

Back then that was something to be proud of, today I don't tell anyone I am/was a Shitcago Police Officer

Just saw the families on TV saying, there ain't no gate, no fence, no chain or any signs telling you not to drive down the ramp, you just drive right down it and you in the water.

Well maybe, if the occupants were not intoxicated and looking at their phones for directions, they would have seen where they were driving. At the speed the car was travelling, a brick wall would not have stopped the car.

Pete Wenger was one of the Gym staff when I went through the Academy in 1986. He would take our groups out for runs...torture runs if you will. He was Drill Sgt. (Instructor) like, in our training. He was, for us, the quintessential Police Academy hard ass who was fit like an Olympic athlete. He could also be a big jerk. All in all I would say he was sincere. As time passed he stepped on his dick about overtime slips and was dumped from the academy. I think he landed in 014. I, a Sgt. in 011 assisted a Beat car on a 1st watch traffic stop of a car registered to Pete Wenger around Ohio and Pulaski. Pete was definitely NOT driving it and the nice two "ladies" in possession of the car knew Pete well. Months later Pete's off the job for not peeing, or peeing hot, I can't remember. Not long after that he's a DOA OD at his house in 016. A very sad tale really, and a cautionary tale to all you young officers. Life will beat you up; those who molded your early careers may not get as far as you. It's said that we stand on the shoulders of giants. Pete Wenger was one of my first FTO's on how phony this outfit is. So was that body building idiot who juiced himself into the grave, the one who got clipped by his wife for beating her. It was Leroy to the rescue for him and all his shit. Macho man beat his wife until she said "enough, knowing 911 isn't going to do shit, so she shot him in the guts. Most guys yathink they'd fire no? After all horse steroids are illegal drugs unless your a horse. Or maybe a cow.

Another time I watched him double park his pink Cadillac right at the intersection of Devon and Western while he went to different places to do his errands. When the foot cop asked him to move he threatened the foot cop with death. Another time I was working 911 when some old Lady called, like in her '70s, and asked for a SGT cause he threatened to kill her if she ever asked his wife to not allow their dog to shit on her Lawn again.

But he had a bat phone right to Leeeeroy who thought he was a fine propo tool for the Dept. A MR. Universe for the ages. Damn what a damn phony job. I wonder how I lasted.

He went to treatment more than once. There's no magic cure and addiction is a lifetime battle. He's not on the job anymore, and hasn't been for a while, which is a good thing. Pete Wenger, Pat Maslanka, Jimmy Marsh, Sergio “Mr. Olympus” Oliva, Burt Kahn, Bill Holman, Bob “Mr. RedMan” Schwind, Tom (USMC)Walton were all 020 raiders and Insane Fish gang members populating the academy in the mid 80s.

True Story: Sergio had the foot beat at Devon and Western but went to lunch at a beauty salon at Sheridan and Devon (2400 West to 1000 West) and as he was just entering the beauty parlor in full uniform a citizen ran up and stated someone was robbing a store a half a block away. Sergioi , with his police radio blaring, calmly stated “I on lunch call 911”. Yeah, Sergio the real police, Captain McGinnis’s sycophant.

We had a lot of fun “back in the day, at the end of the day”.

When we were in the academy in '86, someone asked Wenger," I know they have physical fitness program in the academy, but what about when you get out and go to a District?" Wenger says, "When you get to big to fit in a beat car, they put you in the wagon."

Another time, they ran a family night at the academy. Marsh and Wenger were doing a demonstration on disarming someone with a gun. Wenger was holding the gun and got his finger broken by Marsh.

Wenger was not there to be everyone's pal, but he did get a lot of people, that never would have, pass that run and obstacle course, and go into their blues. I had the pleasure of those Rockwell Garden runs two times. Once in Metro Class and then Chicago class. Like others have said, the last guy you'd ever expect to be hitting that pipe.

He would hit the medical or go off on abuse so he wouldn’t piss hot. A clout kid who was taken care of for a long time. Nobody wanted him along on search warrants because he would pocket the dope. Last year while on the medical again, department ordered him to piss , and finally pissed hot, department was stealth and got him dirty. He knew he was screwed so the “ suicidal thoughts.” His ex boss dad flew in and tried to take care of it again. The department did the right thing and forced him to resign. This guy has been an issue for quite awhile, and costing us a lot of money in his long history of medical abuse. All due in fact because he is clouted up. The story is a shame from the start, instead of taking care of the issue years ago like it should’ve been, the result is someone is dead. A lot of people deserve the blame for this one.

Sad. A young man destroyed by the job. Please don't judge him too harshly or quickly if you don't know his story

You my friend are emotionally attached. Obviously your o jectivity went out the door a long time ago. If you love him so much you should let him move in with you. He's an adult and he made choices. Fucked up choices that as you can see are still ruining the rest of his life. Call him out instead of babying him. You play with the shit, expect to smell like it.

Wenger was a good guy who cared for the coppers he trained, just like Tero (Rip also), who would get your ass in gear. In 1986 we also had Marsh and Tremaine martial arts guys who took no shit but made sure we could handle a situation, remember the red man it was me vs Tero, I lasted about 20-50 Seconds, in good shape but that was the days when you were taught by real instructors, with real experience. Tero's brother came in 1 day while we training saying "I pity you fools" yes it was "Mr.T" funny guy and strong, miss those days but since retirement don't miss the job just the coppers who i worked with!

God bless all the new young officers who will never have the chance to be "the real police!"

Normally your info is pretty solid, I hate to say this but you are way off. Both Wenger and his son have been dead for years. This is a different former P.O. who fell into heroin use. You really should clarify your statement on this. I sent this in before but you won't allow it to be seen.

We were protecting you from your own stupidity. We know Wenger and his son are dead. We were around then, we remember it well.

But you obviously don't know what "shades of....." means in a literary sense.

used to suggest reminiscence of or comparison with someone or something specified.

So by using "shades of..." we mean to say there's a definitive link to the behaviors exhibited by Wenger and this latest unfortunate person.

Today, you are King of Asshats.

Not only wasn't there any "torture runs" in 1986 but you won't even required to actually run. Plenty of the fat ass's would walk. Wenger would range out ahead along with the coppers who were actual runners but to call it a torture run is like calling the written tests "torture tests". How tortuous was it for a few guys to yell the answers across the room?

"Torture run"? hahahahaha I love the old guys who act like the job was Legit in '86. 1/2 of the class should have been in booze rehab or sex addiction clinic, most of all the instructors.

Which is why it was so damn fun. But it most certainly wasn't on the up and up.

I stopped Wenger and his son back in 2003 at 3800 W Congress in 011. They were in Wenger's brand new car which was parked by the CHA row houses over there. They were in the back seat and 2 dudes were in the front seat of his car. The only thing in the center console was a crack pipe and some Chore Boy.
