Chico to Fire Special Ed

  • Mayoral candidate Gery Chico would immediately fire Chicago Police Superintendent Eddie Johnson as part of his public safety plan, unveiled Thursday.

Chico says the search for a new chief will begin as soon as he’s declared the winner.

“The trust between police and communities has broken down, and we need someone who is going to lead us, who has the full faith of the city to do the right thing when there are any allegations of police misconduct,” Chico said. “There are too many questions swirling around Johnson and how he’s dealt with misconduct to date.”
So Chico has more questions than answers? Interesting. Is Chico going to reopen the misconduct relating to crooked lieutenant promotional exams where wives and girlfriends of top brass mysteriously score in the top two five after not being able to net an actual rank order spot at any time during their careers?

The rest of Chico's platform is the usual progressive, socialist, commie bullshit, but it seems Ed better get his resume together prior to election day.

Ed should have never been hired! He has done more damage to the Department than any previous superintendent. I only made crime go up!

Regardless of what these wannabe mayoral candidates claim they want to do (or will do), it's a given that Johnson will likely be more than ready to leave when the next Mayor of Chicago is elected. His high dollar $$$ pension will be secured, and I have no doubt he will take the money and run.

Chico is one of the dumbest candidates for mayor. I have a friend who told me Chicos law firm was hanging by a thread until my friends company gave them a politically connected contract that saved him. His firm had baby Zalewski working there at the time. A pure incompetent.

"Trust between police and communities has broken down".

Where and how many times have we heard that line before? Talk about an over used line.

It's the police fault and you need me citizens to get those police back in line. Sounds like just another politician. And just like every other politician the word police is just that a word politicians throw around to say they hear their voters and they are going to do something about the police.

Good luck with that. Enforce the law in a community and the politicians echo the screams of the community. Don't enforce the law and the politicians echo the screams of the community.

Don't look for a politician to help us.

Go look in another county for a place to work and raise your family.

I’m sick of hearing about the broken down community relations. My job is to enforce the law not to br everybody’s friend. I don’t give a shit or care about someone’s culture or customs. They have nothing to do with being law abiding. This is just a ignorant talking point to make the brass and politicians feel good about themselves. Listen brass, the community relations aren’t gonna change. Distrust is inherently built in the relationship between the police and the shitheads. Good grief already move onto something meaningful already. You can’t force change in people no matter how many ass kissing training classes you put people through or monitor them on cameras or discipline every chance you get. People believe the way they believe and all you get is a bitter workforce with no desire to do anything. The end.

Not a fan of Special Ed but anyone who votes for Chico should have her, his or it's head examined. Chico was the managing partner of the law firm of Altheimer & Gray and ran that firm into the ground. Imagine what he will do with the City of Chicago.

You would think that anyone who is qualified to run such a large organization such as CPD, would have no trouble landing on their feet to run another large organization, if they choose. Possibly chief of another police department around the country or CEO of some private company. But, strangely that never happens with former Chicago Superintendents. It sure happens with former chiefs of other large cities, and often. Why would that be? What is the difference? It can't be just the pension. I believe it is the quality of the individual who is anointed as superintendent here. It seems no one else but our mayor thinks the former CPD superintendents are competent enough. The last one that I can think of was Rochford who was hired to run a gambling machine company.

"Trust between police and communities has broken down". Yeah? What communities are those? Police in my Chicago neighborhood are trusted and respected. Why? Because we are people who get up, go to work, take care of our kids and homes and pay our taxes. We know the police protect our property and families as best as the increasingly bullshit rules of engagement allow.

So exactly what "communities" are talking about?

CPD should be put on 12 hour shifts , hire back officers for 6 hour shifts during peak , high service calls working an area , not a district .
CFD would be more efficient on 12 hour shifts , let them pack a lunch , no sleeping on the job , running their full time businesses.
CFD could also cut paramedics by 1/3 , put paramedics on 12 hour shifts and cont4act out to private ambulance services .
Save paramedics for gun shot , serious car accidents , fire scenes .
Let private ambulance handle the normal lady need ride to hospital to deliver baby , kid scraped their knee , and other calls that are routine .
Start charging these people for their requests for private security, baby daddy wants to pick up clothes , kid won’t go to school , get a credit card on the telephone or refuse service .
My 50 year old son be disrespecting me , I wants him out .
Typical call in ghetto. Or my 16 year old smoking pot , wants them out .
The New Democrats, one person ,welfare supported family , with no parental skill.

Ed is the perfect example of the PETER PRINCIPAL. He should not have been promoted to Superintendent. Two reasons why he was hired: #1 He is Black. #2 He could be controlled. Simple as that. There was another problem with him being hired, the alderman of the city got to pick who they wanted as command personnel. Look at the department command staff. The word Incompetent comes to mind and I am being kind. In the 60'2 and early 70's the department was run by Irish, Catholic, and had 11th ward connections. In the mid 70's the department command staff was dictated by Judge Prentiss Marshall. Blacks and Hispanics were promoted over whites. One sergeants list, 600 sergeants were promoted. Judge Marshall went down to 1700 to promote minorities. The moral of the story, Police, Police Management and Politics have been around forever. I don't believe you can take Politics out of Police Management. If the city was REALLY INTERESTED IN GIVING FAIR PROMOTIONAL TEST I got a unique solution. Hire one or more former/retired Police Officers who have gone on to teach Criminal Justice at the various colleges/universities in the Chicagoland area and have them put together the promotional test. The reason why I suggest the former/retired Officers who teach CJ is that they put together test for the classes they teach. Very simple, have the test consist of questions from general and special orders and criminal and traffic laws. NO ORAL EXAMS. Every Police Officer have access to all the above. The questions should be written on everyday Patrol and Detective situations that they handle on a daily basis. This proposal is basic and common sense. Save a lot of money and it will be fair to everyone.

Real tough words. I think every candidate would fire the Stool Pigeon on day one.
It’s their prerogative.

Does ChicoMarist & PugWrinkle think Jugghaid Special Ed doesn’t need to launched anytime before May 2019?
The way these two a yapping you’d think they’d have been calling on RottenRahm to fire him last year.

There should have been a No Confidence vote two months after he was appointed.
The slackass has just over 3 months to complete his 3 year pension stipend commitment and he’s locked in to leave on his own.

Tools like ChicoMarist & PugNastyWrinkle must have some community polling data that’s speaking to them to bring the useless issue up.
They’re not fooling us, just the low info crowd.
How stupid can they get, fire a flunky after he banked his time in grade. Whoop tee do.
The commurnity revrun selection committee must have a replacement on tap.

Goofs.
Let’s see how those faithful +750,000 PugNastyWrinkles voters split their support.

It seems all these candidates are on board with the "police are the problem, no community trust, we need reform and a consent decree" bullshit narrative to try and pander and get votes from the Community.

We as police don't have a friend in this race. Because we are not a solid voting bloc that can command attention.

Therfore, I propose that FOP should have voter registration drives in every district, every watch, every office of every unit of the CPD, and strongly urge officers to register to vote if they are not.

Those who still refuse or are just too lazy to register, well, the FOP should publish the names of our brother and sister P.O.s (and bosses too) in the next FOP news letter after the election in March of 2019.

A similar drive should take place for retired members still living in Chicago.

The point is that at least FOP can truthfully say, "we have x,000 registered voters this year, active duty and retired. Let's talk."

Whether we vote as a uniform bloc or not is almost immaterial and probably impossible anyway, given how divided we are now on the job, but 10 to 20,000 registered voters (plus families) is something politicians can't afford to ignore.

Then you guys may see some change.

It's our duty to ourselves, to our families, and to our City to become more politically active and unified. It's the only way we have left to affect positive change and hold the line against politically motivated forces whose platform, if you carry their leftist rhetoric to its logical conclusion, can only mean the end of law and order in Chicago and the ruination of this City we all live in and protect.

And also, FOP needs to stop funneling our dues as campaign contributors to questionable candidates. Stop this picking lesser of two evils bullshit (Madigan, anyone?) and simply withhold all funds from a race if neither candidate is publicly in our camp and on the side of law enforcement.

Everyone on this job has been bought off with our good pay, benefits, pension, overtime, etc. We are lulled into a false complacency because our immediate needs are being met, while malignant forces are chipping away at our very same benefits and protections and siding with vocal community activits who are the avowed enemies of law enforcement and enforcers.

We have to wake up, get in this fight and get down and dirty. Or get eaten by the Jungle.

I would also suggest create a top secret group of P.O.s, active or retired, who will keep very close watch on our elected representatives to keep them honest. Because if they are going to go to the City Council or the press and spout off their hateful bullshit rhetoric about how bad we are, how much we need reform, and how our pay and benefits can no longer be afforded, well, then dirt needs to turn up on those pols. Because they're all dirty, you just have to find it. Same goes for anti-police judges.

The Left plays dirty, you have to beat then at their own game. The only way the US Marines were able to beat the Japanese in the jungle is they had to adapt and beat the Japanese at their own game. Fight savagery with superior savagery
Or lose the battle.

Ball's in your court, FOP and my fellow brothers and sisters.

Oh, and get that petition started again to cut the number of aldermen. Have officers sign that petition when they register to vote. That will get the Council's attention that we are a force to be reckoned with.

No more playing the game like chumps while they run circles around us. It's not working.

Sorry about the long post. We need a call to action. The Machine is divided against itself right now. It is a situation we can benefit from.

No, they hired a black person as Sup to try to appease the black communities constant whining and moaning about cops targeting black people and being racist. And their constant moan about "trust issues". A white liberal female snowflake might be acceptable but still a "whitey" no matter how black she may feel. Gay, Bisexual or Transgender are always added pluses for white applicants providing people of color are still the priority. Straight, Non-Hispanic white male applicants will not be the popular choice for "being the change"... no matter how dumb they are. Open your eyes and get with the Chicago reality.
