Hicks Guilty
Almost fifteen years on the run.....two hours to convict:
- Former Chicago police Sgt. Eddie Hicks was looking to rob a drug stash house in 2001 as a “little appetizer” to a much bigger score — the heist of a semitruck full of millions in drug money en route to Texas, federal prosecutors say.
Instead, the raid on the stash house on West 58th Street turned out to be a ruse concocted by the FBI. Caught red-handed on undercover recordings, Hicks fled on the eve of his trial on conspiracy charges and spent nearly 15 years on the lam before his arrest in Detroit in 2017 while living under an assumed name.
On Monday, Hicks’ attempts to avoid justice ended abruptly as a federal jury quickly convicted him of all eight counts, including drug trafficking conspiracy, using a gun in furtherance of a drug crime, theft of government funds and bail jumping.
The jury heard evidence over three days last week and deliberated for about two hours Monday after listening to closing arguments by lawyers.
Remember, this ass also pretty much stole over $300,000 from our ailing pension fund and transferred property he had used as bail to his son while on the lam. There are more than a few other people who ought to be answering questions from the feds.
Too bad you didn't stick around 15 years ago Eddie. You'd probably be getting out by now.

He probably earned a spot in max security seeing that he likes to spread his wings and fly. The feds are going to make sure he don’t make a fool out of them a second time.
Now we the taxpayers will be forced to pay out millions for this again, another once protected overpromoted clout heavy embarrassment to the once hard working coppers.
I thought he was already convicted in abstentia.
Hmmmm did he earn the pension during the time before he was indicted?
As far as being able to actually collect the pension while a fugitive and also quick claim ownership of his building to his son those are two different issues. They are as different as being the recipient of a merit promotion or having the answers and getting promoted off the list....
We can thank his clout.
Wnen he first went to Narcotics his lieutenant, Gene Karczewski, loved him.
When he wore his welcome out in Narcotics he went to his clout, Terry Hillard, and was transferred to Area 4 Detectives.
Getting out?
hell, Special Ed would have gotten him back in CPD and promoted to Captain.
Eddie gamed em. He lived the life of Riley while on the lam.
He said that he was going to beat the case WRONG
Make way
I'm at a loss for words
Why didn't they take his house when he BFW ?
So can we quit pay him a pension now?
He doesn't care it's like living in public housing fuck him
I guess the jury didn't buy the legal vernacular
that Hicks accepted ownership for his deeds
and intends to turn his life around.
Another Amish guy??? Say it ain't so.
Eddy Hicks beat the system a lot more should be going down !
Will CPD get there pension money back from Eddy Hicks if not get the money from his kid who is on the job
So now?
Out the bosses and alderfools he was paying "taxes" to
on those licks he was hittin'...
Street gang collusion?
Local media collusion in looking the other way?
Only the unclouted/unprotected have to worry
about the contents of their dirty clothes basket
being laid out sunny-side-up by local media.
>Musical Fanfare & Confetti<
>Pfft!<
CPD corruption is ALWAYS
from the top (City Hall) down.
You're a damned fool if you even
TRY to pretend this shit happens in a vacuum.
FBI has a Chicago office, but since Chicago is so
hot, the guys used for set-ups and rouses have to
come from out of town. It's like a rite of passage.
I dunno, I think I would rather go to jail at 70 than get out at 70.
Will he be merit promoted while in prison?
Just axin
Question: Was this the same Eddie Hicks that worked in Area 1 SOG as a patrolman in the late 70s.? Anybody ?

Stupid comment, his son didn’t commit the crime. Plus he was entitled to that pension until he was found guilty. That’s the rule
