Ok the people that used to be on the house were regular cops getting regular pay that were assigned to the district that the current mayor lived in. Daley had it in 001 and not one of them went to 019 when rahm took over. Rahm was same thing regular police from.019 assigned to sit in a squad car usually unmarked outside. Shitty boring assignment. Once was assigned to be marked car to sit outside a church on Madison in 011 that Racoon eyes was visiting. Was approached by his bodyguards and was told to move a block away and sit there as Rahm didn’t want police seen outside the church. The only people I know who don’t like to see policemen around are criminals. Maybe we will see him behind bars along with the rest of the Barry Soetero crew, that would explain his hatred.
I call BS on this. I know Lori professionally and this not at all how she acts. Based on where her house is located — a T intersection— sight lines would be better a house or two away. They’d be smart to put concrete barriers in her parkway.
14 is one of the most understaffed districts in the city. They routinely have two or three Beat cars down on midnights and another beat car serving as the wagon. Maybe she’ll tell Kidney Bean to move some bodies over.

There is no need these days to waste manpower on these massive security details with the advent of sophisticated alarm systems and surveilance cameras. There are surveilance cameras all over the city and the cta. If it is good for the public it should be good enough for the politicians. Remember we don't work for them, they were elected to represent us. The patrol cars can respond when the alarms are triggered.
As someone who worked in 019 and was at the Rahm’s house many times, SCC is correct. The “bodyguards” (for lack of a better word) were part of the security detail, which was its own unit, and they were all making out-of-grade pay. The house protection, which is 24/7, came from 019, and it was not at any out-of-grade pay. There were people who were the regulars that worked it all the time, but it was just like any other assignment in the district. I found it to be mind-numbingly boring and hated it. Others loved it, though, and I was glad they did it, so I didn’t have to. They may bring in a couple of people into 014. That happened in 019. They brought in a body or two (clouted), that worked his detail exclusively. It’s not going to help with the manpower shortage though. It will be interesting to see what happens to the people assigned to him though. The Daley people sued when they got dumped...crybabies. New mayor, new regime.

Apparently comstat is mad because on the gps map, it shows that we weren’t parking close enough. Also apparently when she leaves, they want us to jump out of the squad car and to wear our ties to “look the part”. They also want us to take the body guards spot when they leave to make sure nobody takes their spot since they don’t have specialized parking/ permits yet. It’s a joke when it’s manpower from every watch when we are extremely short on all watches.

Per State law, on her swearing into office, she becomes a peace officer. She can carry her own gun.

2) You get minimum sergeants pay and if you clout is heavy enough your a commander 1 of 2 on the detail and you also get that pensionable way out of grade no test nothing.
3) Commanders get new take home cars every 6 months if they choose the luxury police models with more equipment than the space station.
4) You use your call sign car# whatever and the dispatcher tells everyone to hold on as if your air force 1 landing, and if your calling for a beat car the car scurries to that call to handle it as the "security specialists smile at the power they have.
5) Absolutely zero extra training,as a matter of fact when you have to do yearly qualification your taken care of and every copper knows what that means.
6) You get extra uniform checks to purchase more cheap suits at kohls.
7) You egt the cool looking earpieces and wear that little star on your lapel signifying "I'm important look at this star."
8) you make sure the mayor or whoever your told to "protect," which really is your an uber driver that can call the commanders directly to have a beat car clear up parking spaces and stand outside and watch the vehicles.

16) You never have to go to the "pumps," for fuel you are given a gas card to use at premium gas stations like BP or Shell, and you can get vehicle professionally detailed whenever you want,and as it is being detailed you have another new back-up to drive, always new vehicles and your not driving 1 of those troubling Ford explorers your driving a new Suburban or minimum Tahoe and the gas is flowing but you don't care you pull up and say "charge it," to the taxpayers.
The reason for all of this is simple to watch the comments in various palces where coppers say "I would never take that detail," there are literally thousands of coppers that will do anything to have this cush job,if you can get on a detail take it and hold on to it, just make sure you pick up cleaning on time, get the coffee the proper amounts of cream, drive the family and friends and keep our mouth shut even to that nice girl you impressed at the bar and that is called winning!

Comstat is mad? The detail hasn't been in place long enough for anything involving it to come up at comstat. You're supposed to park in front of and behind the house. Anyone who doesn't understand that, and parks too far away, should be less concerned with GPS, and more concerned with understanding simple instructions. As for the jumping out of the car and wearing your ties, you're supposed to get out of the car, but there's no special uniform requirements just because you happen to be parked in front of her house. If you're being told to put on your tie, it's because you probably don't wear the proper uniform, and your choice of shirt and outer garment require a tie. Wear a sweater and you'll never have to wear a tie. When the weather gets warmer, which is coming soon, you think you'll be wearing a tie? It makes sense to park in front and save the spot for her car until the signs are up. I don't see the issue with that. Basically, you're making up a bunch of shit, or listening to the wrong person, just to stir the pot. The only actual problem with this detail is that it's further depleting the manpower in a district that's already way below what it actually needs to man the beat cars and handle the regular calls for service. Lori would probably be surprised at just how few police are patrolling her district. It's ridiculous, unsafe, and unnecessary, especially when you consider the manpower in certain west and south side districts. Having 4,5, or even 6 down cars shouldn't be acceptable anywhere in this city, but it happens all the time in 014. Let's see how long that lasts once Lori is sworn in. Aside from that, the rest of this is just rumors and whining about nothing.

Absolutely ridiculous having 24/7 security on her house. A terrific waste of money and manpower. As if she is the Emperor of Kingdom rather than just another elected politician. Talk about two systems, cameras and alarms should be good enough and if she is that scared let her get her conceal carry or hire security out of her own pocket like everybody else. No wonder these politicians are such elitists and so hated, look at the perks they get at the taxpayers expense.
