Lori Supports Ferguson
Still better than Prickwrinkle, but rapidly heading into uncharted basement territory:
- Mayor-elect Lori Lightfoot said Thursday she wants and expects Inspector General Joe Ferguson to “call balls and strikes” during her administration and sees no reason their friendship would conflict with his role as a city watchdog.
Ferguson and Lightfoot served together in the U.S. attorney’s office.
When he was appointed by former Mayor Richard M. Daley in 2009 to replace departing Inspector General David Hoffman, Lightfoot was among those who vouched for and recommended her friend Ferguson.
That close relationship has raised questions about just how independent Ferguson can be in a Lightfoot administration.
Ferguson has what matters most:
- a certain "flexibility" where his political masters are concerned
Remember, this guy couldn't find a testing scandal despite being given dates and times of HQ meetings, a path to dozens of e-mails that contained testing material AND discussed monetary exchanges among a select group of people including Special Ed's then-girlfriend and the recently retired Wysinger's wife along with a number of IAD drones.
Was it five or six sergeants from a single unit (IAD), not one of whom could score well enough to get promoted on their own, suddenly scoring in the top ten and making the first class of lie-tenants?

Ferguson is a joke! I did NOT vote for Lori but if she keeps Ferguson then she is part of the problem. I knew she was in bed with Rham, hell he appointed her to the police board, this move just proves she is nothing but another politic joke.
As for those cheating Lietenents many of them have been promoted again, Mike Barz merit Captain, Sadia carter merit captain, that nasty husband stealing wines made merit captain too.
Maybe they are rite? It appears cheating wins in Chicago. They got away clear & free. I guess that poor Sgt from 016 gave up the fight or maybe they gave him a reward to go away?

Why Is there a current internal reviews of IAD closed cases?
Why does this review of these closed case involve several Sgts who worked on these cases while assigned to IAD?
How did these cases become closed with findings of Unfounded or Not Sustained when witnesses and evidence were present that were never addressed?
How and why did these involved Sgts suddenly become promoted up and out of IAD?
Why is there a new IAD Chief and deputy Chief of IAD being promoted?
Why is one of these new IAD chiefs a former Lieutenant that was assigned to IAD during the time of these improperly closed IAD cases?
Why is this new chief being brought back into IAD? To help or hinder the reviews of these cases?
Why is IAD calling in these promoted Captains and Lieutenants to review these closed cases?
Why are these former investigators of IAD refusing to cooperate with this review of closed cases?

These cases were properly initiated by citizens and CPD, during investigations by IAD information of damaging pattern of misconduct was discovered!
But the current Chief of IAD Juan Rivera put stops to investigations, telling these Sgts it was in best interest of Department to close the cases!
For this quick closing of cases these Sgts all were rewarded by getting merit promotions or grade adjustments on tests!
And transferred out of IAD!
Only problem is that evidence and witnesses are still available and new Mayor wants accountability for not investigating these cases originally!
Looks like truth is leaking out and who were involved will be the ones retiring quickly?
This review of cases is more then 35 deep so it is showing how IAD was protecting CPD command staff from bad investigations!
A pattern of protection that was initiated from IAD and Command staff?
And those who keep mouths shut get promoted?
The city that works and Earned not given!

And now they see Lightfoot is moving the pieces on board the same way each other Mayor has done!

Chicago had its own school admittance cheating scandal on the high school level. Wasn't there some favoritism on who gets into Walter Payton, Whitney Young or the other supposedly top high school in Chicago? Didn't they find a few surburban kids enrolled in a few of them and some candidates who's parents comingle with Rham and other democrates?
Ferguson is a joke. Many more than NOBLE had the test. 2 recent promotees had "help" on the Lt test. They were merit Sgt's but top 10 on the Lt list, GTFOOH. Ed's not going anywhere the Light put him in that spot without an interview or any vetting process. Now Ferguson got a recommendation from the Light. We have high high exempt members owned by indicted alderman. The corruption will never end here.

Great! Having Joe Ferguson as Inspector General is like asking an alcoholic if you’re drinking too much - if he says something’s not right, then you KNOW it’s messed up!
What one needs to get into their mind is, Chicago was corrupt from it's inception, is presently corrupt, and will always be corrupt. Don't waste your time trying to fight it. Remain fetal and when you get the chance, flee.
Have you noticed, Ferguson and the I.G.'s office has never uncovered anything substantial? They just follow Tim Novak's stories from the Sun-Times. Unless some poor sanitation laborer takes and extra bathroom break during a thunderstorm.

You are correct and another scandal that hasn't been brought to light is the testing standards of CPS into it's top tier high schools such as Walter Payton and Whitney Young. The point system to gain entry is based upon which zip code you live in when taking the entrance exam. Chicago zip codes are divided into tiering system 1 through 4, high crime low income areas are considered tier 1 and low crime higher income zip codes are tier 4. Children that live in Edison Park, Garfield Ridge and Mount Greenwood (Tier 4) are held to a much higher standard and must score as much as 70 points higher than a low income high crime tiered zip code. Ensuring that Tier 3 and 4 zip code parents have to send their children to private schools. Once again the city that works for a certain voting demographic.
