"...those who have given all..."
"EQUALITY OF SACRIFICE”
A. “I was a Have.” B. “I was a ‘have-not.’”
(Together.) “What hast thou given which I gave not?”
-- Rudyard Kipling, "Epitaphs of the War".
Just a Civilian (who hasn't given anything, except respect to those who did)
The Civil War, which ended in the spring of 1865, claimed more lives than any conflict in U.S. history and required the establishment of the country’s first national cemeteries.
On May 5, 1868, General John A. Logan, leader of an organization for Northern Civil War veterans, called for a nationwide day of remembrance later that month. “The 30th of May, 1868, is designated for the purpose of strewing with flowers, or otherwise decorating the graves of comrades who died in defense of their country during the late rebellion, and whose bodies now lie in almost every city, village and hamlet churchyard in the land,” he proclaimed.
The date of Decoration Day, as he called it, was chosen because it wasn’t the anniversary of any particular battle.
On the first Decoration Day, General James Garfield made a speech at Arlington National Cemetery, and 5,000 participants decorated the graves of the 20,000 Union and Confederate soldiers buried there.
Memorial Day, as Decoration Day gradually came to be known, originally honored only those lost while fighting in the Civil War. But during World War I the United States found itself embroiled in another major conflict, and the holiday evolved to commemorate American military personnel who died in all wars.
For decades, Memorial Day continued to be observed on May 30, the date Logan had selected for the first Decoration Day. But in 1968 Congress passed the Uniform Monday Holiday Act, which established Memorial Day as the last Monday in May in order to create a three-day weekend for federal employees; the change went into effect in 1971. The same law also declared Memorial Day a federal holiday.
God bless our armed forces and all first responders.
God Bless America.

008 bt#841 thank you for responding to the public fornication in a vehicle at the West end of 008. Trivial, but it happened behind my home, after my tour. Thank you for your service. Hopefully your presence will prevent the involved parties (who do not live here) from ever doing anything like that or any other activity behind my house again.
Was at a ceremony last year of the boots of all those brave patriots who died in Iraq,Afghanistan and the Pentagon. It was unbelievably moving to see the faces and ID’S of those who died serving this great country. To think we had a President for 8 years who allowed their blood and sacrifice to be in vain is infuriating. This same President also apologized to the Japanese for our actions to win WWII and throughout history. To think they are building a library and shrine to this useless scumbag is beyond belief. God Bless those who died serving the greatest country in history and their families still living in eternal sadness. May Obama rot in hell for his Anti-American rhetoric and hateful divisive legacy.
Reach out to our retired many of them served and never received the respect they deserved.
God bless all who serve and those who have made the supreme sacrifice.
May God protect all our great members of the armed forces around the world. We remain stronger then ever with the 24/7 protection these great men and woman provide us USA loving citizens.

Saturday in the pouring rain, President Donald Trump stood at Arlington National Cemetery with umbrella in hand and took part in Wreaths Across America. As a veteran of this great nation I say thank you sir.
To all the liberals, sjw's, communists, socialists, left media and the clinton's f@#k you!!
Thank You and I'm sure God Blesses all The Brave Courageous Military Members and Their Famalies that have given the Ultimate Sacrifice Defending The United States of America and Our Freedoms .Thank You to All the Military Warriors and Their Famalies that have and continue to Serve today.May God Bless You All and May God Bless The United States of America!
During Police Week my Unit made sure to visit the hallowed ground at Arlington Cemetary. We are all seasoned vets but have never been so humbled and in awe of anything in our lives. During our walk we were blessed to encounter a group of Iraq veterans who after thanking us for our service later invited us for cocktails and to hear their stories made my already enormous hatred of Obama grow to epic proportions. The ROE’S (Rules of Engagement) our military was subjected to under the Obama Administration were done to ensure losses on the American side and at best a stalemate. We cannot or should not ever fight a war with both hands tied behind our backs ever again and God Bless our current President, with all his flaws for realizing it. Thank you to all of those who paid the ultimate price and allow us the freedoms we enjoy.
God Bless our Armed Forces, our true Hero's !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
God bless all our fallen.
5-27 @ 03:50 am, nice touch today, thank you for sharing.
Have a Blessed Memorial Day

Can someone explain why Chicago keeps losing population in a separate blog? It’s such a utopia.

Memorial Day is not a day of celebration like Happy New Years, Happy Thanksgiving, Happy mother’s day, Happy Father’s Day...etc
It’s a day for remembrance.... not celebrating
All Gave Some,
Some Gave All
God Bless all our military personnel
