We might have underestimated the weekend carnage slightly, thanks to 012 bringing up the totals:
- By Sunday evening of Memorial Day weekend, Chicago police had responded to the shootings of 34 people, five of whom died of their injuries, officials said.
The grim tally grew as a shooting Sunday about 6 a.m. in the 1300 block of West Hastings Street left two dead and three injured. The shooting was possibly in retaliation for an earlier one in the same University Village neighborhood where large crowds had gathered, and which also left a man dead, investigators said.
Isn't CPIC supposed to predict the chances of retaliation? And wouldn't four or five hours of constant calls of large crowds and disorderly conduct have been a tip-off to the second shooting that killed two of the three fatalities at that corner?
Where was SOS? Where was TRU? Oh wait - those don't exist.

The empty lake front was saturated with police.
1300 W. Hastings is ABLA and EVERY year on Memorial Day, Father’s Day, 4th of July and Labor Day weekend they have huge parties with multiple people shot. Last year it was the guy who was pronounced dead and a sheet thrown on him only for people to scream the guy shot in the head was still alive. The community blamed the paramedics and police for “killing” him. Not the person who put the bullet in his head.

Every time the area in the ABLA homes was cleared and officers backed off, like roaches, the neighbors would slither back out. Don’t think for a minute they didn’t pick the Watch changeover to start shit up again. The good news is much of it is caught on video, including a shooter dragging a dead companion into a car that went nowhere since officers were back on scene as soon as shots were heard.

Terrible crash on the west side. And of course the 83 year old lady who was killed had a pastor as a son and of course before anything is known about the accident he needs answers to the reckless behavior of CPD. Why is it that all reporting on these in idents is immediately annti police ? The shootings in little italy had a lovely girl on the street interview that lamented that CPD should have known there was going to be a shooting and should have broken up the party. I think there were 2 separate fatal stabbings in 007 over the weekend. So, any total of people “fatally shot” over the weekend reported my the media probably doesn’t include those two homicides in the actual total number of people killed.
Special Ed is incompetent. Upper management no longer have ideas on how to run the departments resources. They keep bringing in outside consulting persons from around the country to give them ideas. I went outside this hell hole for a quick smoke with a Sgt and another Dep, as we're walking towards our vehicles we hear what we suspected were gunshots. And then 5, 8, 12, 15... we counted roughly 20 shots were fired between 45-60 seconds and then ... sirens.
You guys be careful - let them do their thing, they're thinning out themselves without any help from us, why interrupt them? Besides, when we receive them from you Kimmy Fox let's them out on bond anyway.

OK Mr not-the-police, here's a secret: it doesn't matter where the station is in relation to a call because the cars aren't dispatched from the station. They usually come from wherever their last call was. The only thing station placement has an effect on is routine patrol. Two minutes is nothing. And to properly clear an area, you need a lot of available manpower, which they didn't have.

Commander Chung was driving through abla all night in the front of the pack and actually doing work. So anyone who says anything differnt was obviously not in attendance. Tac LT was also out there doing the same for hours on end.

I wonder if the SDSC video of the Abla shooting will be released? Craziest video I've seen in awhile. Dude was straight up executed with one to the back of the head. But hey, technically he started it. Must see video to show how the community really acts. Just remember, the police are the problem.
