Really Googleme?

Media Affairs gets letters from people all the time. Many are actually complimentary about something citizens experienced with the police and Media Affairs will forward these along to everyone, probably as a sort of "morale booster," via e-mail.

Everyone in the Department got this one the other day:
  • Greetings,

I try to avoid the police in Chicago (because y'all have a tendency to shoot unarmed subjects) however I have to commend two officers on a job well done. I noticed two officers helping a very confused tourist at the Jackson Blue Line stop find his way. He did not speak English, but they tried their best to help anyway. Hiring compassionate officers like these two is how you'll improve your standing with the community. He did not seem to say thank you, but I will- thank you!

    Erika White
Um.

Well fuck you very much Erika. Ignorance like yours is truly a sight to behold.

And Googleme - what the fuck were you thinking sending this crap out to everyone in the Department? Seriously, this is a "morale booster" in what universe?

Also tell us who the hell gave you your current position?

Because I need to contact that City official and tell them face to face what a complete idiot you are?
You may be employed by city and work within the CPD but your efforts are demeaning to all law enforcement officers!

When you sent out this letter you took on more then your pay grade allows?
Let alone your own moral values?

You are adding gasoline to an already volatile situation since you have never been or understand police work!
I do not care for these types moral builders even if they were approved by ranking police supervisors?

From when Guglielmi was the spokesman in Baltimore:

UPDATED 1:21 p.m.)—Anthony Guglielmi, the Baltimore Police Department's top spokesman, has been reassigned after comments he made were interpreted by some officials as being dismissive of a recent spate of violence, according to The Baltimore Sun.

Guglielmi told the newspaper: "we’re pretty satisfied with the way the city is headed, violence-wise” following a weekend where 18 people were shot

He was “reassigned” after that comment. Hahahahaha

Here’s a boost, I hope, from a citizen:
You all rock, and you’re the best part of our city. If it were not for you, we couldn’t enjoy the simple things in life, which ARE still available, if not waning, only because of you - like walking our streets, enjoying the parks and sights, and merely going about our business. These normal every day things are getting harder and harder to do because of crime and the idiotic constraints and shackles placed on you, but don’t think for a second that you don’t have the support, appreciation and backing of the people you serve. We do support you. We do appreciate you. And we do back you!!

Reality check for Erika White: Two scenarios - You just have parked your car and need to scurry into your home. It is late in the evening. In the first scenario, you see a cruiser idling on the block with a couple of cops sitting inside. In the second scenario, instead of cops, you see 5 young people wearing hoodies pulled tight over their faces walking down the block. In both cases, you’ll need to walk past the stimulus to get to your home. Tell us about your actions in each case.

On second thought, don’t tell us. Rhetoric and actions have a way of not aligning when we have time to think about our measured responses. Let’s just observe your behavior instead. I’m guessing you take a lot more precautions around the young people than the hoodies.

Last night I got a phone call from a church member who was storing some things in the church's garage

The garage door came off the track when she went to close it and she was unable to get it back down. I told her l'd come and take a look. I'm no handyman but I'm the only able-bodied man under the age of 40 at my church, and I problem-solve okay.

When I arrived I realized that the problem was more than I could solve by myself. The entire door was unhinged and caving in. So l did something I avoid doing at all cost -I called 311 for police assistance

Mind you, I'm a young black man fooling around in a garage in an alley on the south side of Chicago at 8 o'clock at night. But I communicate really well and was specific when I called the dispatch

1 white officer and 1 Latinx officer arrived shortly after. I introduced myself we shook hands, and together we began to troubleshoot. They didn't ask me to prove I was who l said I was, doing what I said I was doing. They just jumped into action

We knew we couldn't fix the door, but we had to get it upright some how to secure it through the night or until a professional could service it. It took us an hour, in the dead of a freezing Chicago night. And this is what we came up with. an inside out upside down garage door propped up by wood planks But this post isn't about a garage. It's about the assistance of Chicago Police Department officers for a non-emergent situation. There were multiple times where they could have (and I likely would have) thrown up their hands and
said they tried but,

I know for a fact they waved off at least 1 dispatch they received while assisting me, to keep assisting me. I'm sure they had better things to do than secure a small Chatham church's garage, but they stayed and we kept troubleshooting until I got the result I needed.

Afterwards I told them that I am normally very critical of law enforcement and CPD specifically, but that I am fair and give credit where credit is due, and I appreciated their help.

I got their names and badge numbers and submitted a positive report to their precinct. Again, thank you to BEAT632 Officers Fink and Campos for their assistance!

This one was not as egregious but cmon googleme, surely there are better written ones out there.

018 got this one back in May. It's not "IGNANT" like the one above. Just shows how stupid libtards in Lincoln Park are.

My husband Ted and I are writing to compliment and recognize Police Officer TB, who was instrumental in helping to save a life on Monday morning, April 24th in Lincoln Park. The life in question was that of a seagull that was hanging in mid air with the tip of its wing ensnared in kite string. We encountered the seagull while walking our dog. After at least 20 minutes of unsuccessful efforts to get help, Officer B turned onto Webster from Lincoln Park West. I waved him down, and he immediately pulled over and took control of the situation, reaching out to various city agencies that he thought could be helpful, but to no avail. He was then able to reach the Fire Department, which promptly dispatched Ladder Truck 44 to rescue the injured and frightened bird. The Chicago Police Department should be justifiably proud of Officer B and the countless other officers like him, who put their lives on the line to keep us all safe, but also have the compassion and dedication to go the extra mile to save even the life of a bird.

REALLY?! IT'S A GIANT RAT WITH WINGS THAT CARRIES E. COLI IN IT'S SHIT!

Some day “y’all” may need help from the police. (The police who help deliver babies, drive wounded toddlers to the ER, and work tirelessly to find the members of your “community “ who execute children to settle some pathetic gang beef. To name just a few of their heroic acts that “y’all” conveniently forgot in your self-important congratulations)

I’d take this not as an offense, but to understand that the department has a branding problem. Setting aside the fact that her initial concept of what the CPD is or how safe it is to interact with officers, let’s take a moment to recognize that whether accurate or not, that is one citizens perception of the CPD. I know the media is a big part of this, but we all know officers who have contributed to a negative perception (not saying unjustified shooting, but let’s say more hostile than necessary) which makes it easier for the public to believe the media lies.

I’m curios about what everyone thinks we can do to provide a different impression for the public to latch onto.

Let’s skip the media bashing for this - but have a moment of open ideas - how can we as officers improve the perception of our department?

Erika's intent vs. Googs intent.

Erika and her comments clearly demonstrate that progressive socialist thinking is alive and well. She is a progressive "useful idiot" that most likely formed and honed her biased thinking in our public educational system. Supplemented by avid consumption of the media, truth in her case, is purposefully misdirected. Erika lacks the ability to convey a message of thanks for a routine act of kindness by the police without being critical and hateful in the beginning of her "thank you" note. I think we can agree that Erika's original intent was to embarrass the Department by use of a complementary note. An effective and clever tool used to smear your target. She is a good social justice warrior who is clearly a "useful idiot".

Now Googs, on the other hand, is not a "useful idiot". Mr. Googs is just an idiot. He clearly misinterpreted the note and is confused in his ability to understand Erika's intent. Erika fooled a "trained" communications specialist. He forwarded the message to the Field because he is not very good at his job. In this most recent cases, he demonstrated once again his incompetence and to further infuriate, inflame and demoralize Department personnel. Googs thinks he did a good thing without realizing his duplicity. Another failure in a series of failures by Ed's incompetent top staff. Mediocrity continues to be Ed's gold standard within his Police Department.

The verbose drivel that is the usual staple of his emails already confounds me as to why he is allowed to send any emails to the entire department. This one though was such a clear mockery of the department that anyone who isn’t a complete fool would have recognized there was no “thank you” or any positive recognition in the email. What she said is what every lowlife says on jobs when they don’t want to go to jail or are trying to get the responding officer to say something negative about the community so they can win the ghetto lottery. Googleme would know this very common bait and switch if he worked the street for a single day.

“Can’t we just says thanks to Ms. White for recognizing the efforts of these two Police Officers and not pile on with the ridiculous insults. We can be our own worst enemies.“

I’m trying to formulate the words in my head to describe how big of a dildo you are. It’s tough, but I’ll give it a whirl. I’ll start with the fact that you utterly fail to see the backhanded compliment. Me saying “hey, you actually did a good job handling that call, considering you’re a fat piece of shit with the IQ of a goldfish, and you’re racist. Baby killer” isn’t really a compliment. Even though I did compliment you, the compliment is just a vehicle for the insult. So saying “y’all murder people all the time for no reason, but hey, you’re good at giving directions” also is not much of a compliment. I’ll end with giving you a compliment. You constructed a coherent sentence with overall good grammar, even though your message reveals you to be a giant pussy who appears to be so desperate for someone to say something nice to them they accept the premise that they’re a murderer. You fucking goof. You’re dumb as a bucket of shit. Hope you also enjoyed the compliment that’s somewhere in there. Given your statement, you’re probably flattered. Dummy.

Apparently you're in dire need of friendly letters with a nasty bite, so here's one from my experiences a few years ago:

Dear Sirs,

A few years ago I was flying through O'Hare and had to take a dump. Normally I try to avoid Chicago (because y'all tax the hell out of unclouted people) but I was visiting some relatives and it is after all a hub airport. Anyway, when I was on the way to the little lads' room to fire the main guns I saw some cops by the escalators in the United concourse and it looked like they were doing some useful cop stuff. So, uh, keep up the good work guys! Now back to social media to rant about my issues...

Love and kisses,

I too would like to hear civilians legitimate ideas as to how to improve the image of the department. Because, in all honesty, I don’t have an answer. The community will always hate the police, no changing that. We can have all the nice and wonderful interactions that we want with people, and it happens every day all the time, but how do you change the overall populations view of police? Especially in a city like Chicago? Not a clue, but I can tell you, “one interaction at a time” ain’t gonna cut it. Because as you can see from this woman’s message, even after seeing something nice, we are still just racist murderers to her.

"(UPDATED 1:21 p.m.)—Anthony Guglielmi, the Baltimore Police Department's top spokesman, has been reassigned after comments he made were interpreted by some officials as being dismissive of a recent spate of violence, according to The Baltimore Sun.

Guglielmi told the newspaper: "we’re pretty satisfied with the way the city is headed, violence-wise” following a weekend where 18 people were shot.

Councilman Carl Stokes, who represents Remington and parts of Charles Village, criticized the comments during Monday's council meeting.

The announcement of the reassignment came on the same day Police Commissioner Anthony Batts appeared before a City Council committee to address the outbreak of shootings since last weekend."

You posed a question? Really? No, you made a statement. However here is your answer. This was not a bashing of the media. This was a response to an internal email and was posted on a blog for police officers. The citizen was offensive to ALL police officers (y’all) and each of us had reason to be offended by her baseless, ignorant and quite obviously baiting comments. I’m sure if someone painted you with a broad brush accusing you and your entire profession of being brutish and criminal, you may have trouble accepting a backhanded compliment as well. I’m sorry, but her first sentence disqualified anything she wrote after.

Well, when you say "how can we as officers," that can only be interpreted as you claiming to be a cop. If you get paid for working "closely with the department," you should be fired. The "biases" being displayed here are a direct result if some clueless fucking moron, similar to yourself, claiming that we, as officers, are murderers. And you want the reaction to that to be one of coming together to solve the problem of stupid fucking people who have idiotic and extremely biased opinions of the police, based purely on fantasy? We're supposed to react by trying to change a delusional person's perspective? We're supposed to solve a problem created by people like you, the media, our Democrat leaders in government, and a complete lack of common sense and critical thinking? We can't fix stupid. You're shit out of luck, just like Erika. But, despite your idiocy, your lack of sense, and your obvious bias against the police, we'll still do our jobs and help you, even while you and others like you spew your hate and shout your delusional ideas about us.

As for your whole idiotic premise that the attitudes being displayed here lend some credence to her delusions, how many comments here have shot an unarmed person? Comments on a police blog are words on a computer screen. If they suggest to you, or to anyone else, that the police indiscriminately shoot innocent, unarmed, black men, or anyone for that matter, you're a fucking moron. You're a fucking moron either way, but that really illustrates it well. Please stop working closely with the department. You're in over your empty head.

Whatever job you have, that requires you to work closely with cops, I hope it doesn’t require any sort of intelligent thought, critical thinking, word comprehension or important decision making. I’m thinking it must be some type of job that has very specific tasks that are simple and straightforward. Like a janitor. Keep your questions to yourself and go mop the floor for the 6th time.

The statement that CPD and Police across the country disproportionately kill unarmed black men has been proven to be be a lie. So when some uninformed or ignorant mouth breathers start a conversation like Miss White did, anything after that is not worth wasting one millisecond of time or thought.

I didn’t claim to be a cop, but I work closely with the department and I’m disappointed by the degree to which officers here seem to throw up they’d hands, and blame the media for portraying them negatively, but then display the exact same biases through their language here - that they say the media made up. The media may be responsible for her initial negative impression of hostility, but then seeing officers in action painted a positive image that she spoke up about... but then she is throughly trashed and denigrated here by people who are displaying the hostile culture that allows the media bias of cop shootings to take hold in the first place.

I don’t have a real answer. That’s why I posed the question. But I think it starts with recognizing that there is a bad image and the negative culture and trashing of those who have the wrong opinion is counter productive

I thought it was worth trying to change the conversation by introducing a different perspective.

The issue I have with Ms. White's email is the way she phrased it. You can compliment someone, without then throwing an insult. Here are some examples of what one could write if they wanted to be complimentary: I saw two officers assisting a tourist who was lost. The officers did their best to assist the tourist. It is examples like this that bring credit to the department, and make citizens proud. Or, I saw two officers assisting a tourist with directions. It is examples like this that show great images of officers, and foster community partnership. You can use other words, but no need to insult by saying,"I don't normally associate with police, as y' all shoot unarmed people." That statement is not accurate. In addition, it adds nothing to this letter or example. I would encourage anyone in school to take some criminal justice and law classes. I hope this helps.

I'm glad I retired when I did, because my constant shooting of unarmed blacks, caused my trigger finger to become so muscular, that I could barely fit it in the trigger guard any longer.
