So supposedly, Lori is going to have an "accountability Monday" meeting after the disastrous weekend. She wants to hear ideas from people who haven't had an original thought in years, stolen NYPD programs and tried to run them on the cheap, and only know how to nominate yes-men/women who know how to suck ass.\

Seriously. It takes God knows how many officers off the street, compiling statistics for a giant game of "gotcha!" where a failed Deputy named Lemmer takes out all his frustrations on subordinates who do what he could never do - earn the respect of the men and women working the street. Have you looked into how many districts and units this goof destroyed by his mere presence? PAR forms to leave his command triple with his arrival and quintuple by the time he is shunted somewhere else.
Have you personally attended a CompStat meeting to see how supervisors who actually earned their rank via testing are ridiculed and talked-down-to by people who couldn't actually command? Has the CompStat monstrosity produced any report that might give you insight into how to address crime and disorder problems?
We're betting no, especially after the last two weekends....and it's not even summer yet.

I remember that Lemmer as a watch commander in 023 and Nagode as a watch commander in 024 from our traveling gang show days. They were both rude and arrogant. They would make your tours there unpleasant. And for what reason? Other watch commanders weren't like that.

T.L. is by far the worst white shirt I have ever worked for in my 21 years on the job. Horrible, nasty man who thinks he is ten times smarter than anyone. Remember when he gave veteran officers a mission sheet at roll calls, with highlighted portions for seat belt missions, stop sign missions, curfew missions, the list goes on like they were 5 years old? Had no impact on crime for years in 023, he should of been demoted for his waste of resources and forcing long time veterans to retire or PAR out of district. He is the most incompetent and ineffective boss ever to have been made gaining ZERO respect by anyone who worked under him. He is like a bad cold in the winter time you just can't get rid of. He ruined morale and self-respect of long term veterans, and rookies alike. He is delusional and a lunatic who should of stayed at his naval base where he was employed as a security guard in the Great Lakes. What an awful, putrid person who ruined peoples lives for years upon years and still going strong. What an embarrassment that he is making decisions at the top when he should be clown in a circus selling peanuts. He is still sour he wasn't made director of Loyola college police department, so he was stuck talking down to poor undergrads who were forced to endure his made up war stories during class. I know it’s easier said than done, but with guys like Lemmer and Naghode, it’s just got to be “in one ear and out the other”. I’m lucky because I have 26+ on, and I really don’t give a f$&k, but to the guys/girls who are not in that position, you have to let it roll off your back. These guys are toxic, but this whole upper management crew, the political players involved, the media, and the general anti-police sentiment in this day and age, make it impossible to do this job anymore. It’s been said on here before, but 1st, 16th, and answer the radio, give them the paper. That’s it. Once you get to the point where no f$&ks are given, these idiot, merit mouthbreathers will fade into the background. “Yeah, boss, sure. OK, will do.”. Then go get a beverage of choice, put the blinders on, and make sure you and your partner go home safe. They give you a car, and gas. Enjoy the ride.

Plus all the people in the district that spend their whole tours compiling compstat info. Seriously there’s compstat officers in the districts. Plus all the time the cmdr capt and Lts spend going over the info so they won’t be ridiculed by the lemonator. That’s all time and personnel they could be using to do other things. If the dept(Lemmer) finds issues with a district, why doesn’t he just call the Cmdr and tell him instead of trying to publicly embarrass him in front of all his peers. I mean aren’t u taught that in supervising 101 to praise in public and criticize in private. Or even kindergarteners are taught to treat people the way you would want to be treated. Would lemmer like to be jackpotted on every little thing. Anyone can find something on everyone to criticize.

Again, SCC, you hit the nail right on the head. In law enforcement, the one thing that a college education constantly fails to do is teach common sense. More of this job is that - common sense. If we started applying that maybe we could move forward and actually accomplish something.

Gathering data is useless unless you DO something useful with it.
Haranguing police officers for not having “numbers” is pointless - it’s LESS than pointless, because all it does is (at best) “pump up” the numbers with nonsense or (more likely) increase resentment and worsen performance.
ComStat reminds me of how Secretary McNamara used to show graphs of body counts and talk about how we were winning the Vietnam war.

The hell with COMCRAP! It’s just a dog and pony show to justify all the massive salaries for the hordes of exempts. How about some good news for the police??? Just one tiny bit of good news? Is asking for a new contract too much? How about our contributed to and earned pension fund getting the proper funding? These are just basic things which we shouldn’t even have to ask for. But they would go a very long way to boost morale. And would be very good for Chicago as a whole.

They just held the Police Recognition Awards Ceremony where the highest awards we're given for outstanding police work. In the past, these awards were live-streamed and covered extensively by the media. This year barely a peep. Even with a search, nothing pops up. Nice way to ignore those who actually are working.

So, Lemmer had mandatory training at the academy today. Came in and signed infor a couple minutes, then whispered in the instructors ear and left. Yet this asshole preaches to the masses about accountability???
If you look at the Department's budget, the Office of Accountability (COMSTAT) has $5,000,000 budgeted. No I didn't make a mistake, 5 MILLION. Now add at least one full time PO in each unit, one in each detective area and a couple more that I may have missed. Now take 4 hours for each meeting (travel time, parking, meeting and return trip) times the hourly rate of each of the people required to go. Then check how many districts bring a couple of extra to help make the idiot commander look like he/she has a handle on things. Last time I calculated some numbers it came to just a little over $ 11,000,000. ELEVEN MILLION to make people look like fools. Then what is next? These dumbass commanders go back and try to get the officers to do stupid shit, some of which is illegal or at the very least, questionable. Huge waste of money and the very probable potential for future lawsuits. Great idea. Now let's put an end to this absolute insanity.
