- Murders, shootings and other violent crimes during the first five months of 2019 have decreased compared to the same period in 2018 as CPD’s summer prevention plan gets underway, according to data collected by Chicago police.
The 186 murders reported between Jan. 1 and May 31 marked a 7% decline from the same period last year, while the 735 shootings marked a 13% decrease from last year, police said.
But if you look at the May numbers alone:
- 194 shootings (249 in 2018)
- 341 shooting victims, (303 in 2018)
- 49 murders (50 in 2018)
One murder - hooray! But that top number is stupid. Shooting incidents are listed as down, while shooting victims are up 38. So we're getting more victims shot per bona fide incident? And of course, these are only listing the "successful shootings." Nothing about Shotspotter, probably because those incidents are well over six or seven hundred, and no one wants to see those numbers.

Live in a way western suburb and a mutt from Chicago with a cook county murder warrant comes down our street, in a stolen car, and was stealing anything he could get his paws on. The lazy people don’t, (or shouldn’t have to?), make it hard for these mutts, by locking everything up! He was caught after being spotted on a security camera and got into a multi suburban chase. The people got their property back and he was charged with the warrant and being in a stolen car? Being from Chicago, we lock our vehicles in our locked garage. Just can’t get away...

For soccer moms and others that prefer something less than a gun for home protection, one can use a paintball gun and self defense pepper balls or the self defense solid balls. Remember all the concentrated crime areas in the projects? Those projects were NEWLY built and it took the community a very short period of time to DESTROY and ROACH infest them. Guess what everyone? HUD is guaranteeing all that mess comes into your neighborhood and local town. That's right, everyone, including the very pricey north shore, western suburban areas MUST have affordable housing.

This is AFFORDABLE/SET ASIDE housing - far worse. Ask any community that suddenly has affordable housing. These people don't want to mix with you. They want to destroy you when they move in. They won't attend your dinner parties and church socials. They won't behave in your local stores. Get ready.

I see where Lori is going to have “accountability Monday’s “ for “CPD bosses” each week.
She’s going to want to know what they’re doing to reduce violence.
Since Lori has said most of these crimes are crimes of poverty does that mean CPD has to reduce poverty in “the community” along with everything else we’re tasked with?
Is she going to have accountability Tuesday’s for “the community”??

LOL - she and all her libtard friends have tied PO's hands. At least the CPD bosses will feel the heat for a while. Maybe she'll ask them to help the poverty stricken and open their own pockets.
Never any accountability for these ferals, except a dirt nap. Anything else, taxpayers foot the bill.
I am pretty sure that warm weather increases poverty. So more shooting.
With the new state gas, and cigarette tax looks like there will be another mass exodus of shoppers to WI, IN and IA. Also bet there will be many moving to those states and communting. Hope the geniuses in Springfield calculated that into the plan to raise those taxes. Just like Prickwrinker Sugar Tax these too will fail to raise the revenue promised. A couple of packs of cogs will pay for the gas. While they are bet they just don't buy gas and cigarettes. No bag tax, lower overall taxes and a better customer service in any of the border states. LOL when the revenue falls short and they are all wondering why. That is when Jabba the Hutt will go for the milage tax to tax all those extra shopping miles.
Little Lori is due some congratulations, she has her first double digits KIA weekend. Hopefully it will not be her last, long hot Summer about to begin. Did you see the riot at Inner harbor in Baltimore? Looks like the Chicago funnin is spreading East.
So General what is your solution. The CPD can't or won't be able to control things. Who you gonna call? Guard is only chance and if things go like I think th3y will the city will be burning sometime this summer. When that happens and it will the rules of engagement will change. Predict a lot of blood in the city streets. If not this Summer sometime very soon. The citizens have about had enough.

Yea, And "Shot-spotter" testified in the grand jury investigation of Officer Darren Wilson about the Micheal Brown shooting that Officer Wilson was not backing away when he defended himself against Micheal brown charging to attack him. Rather they said the opposite.
So if you think you can "trust" that "business" or their "technology", just remember they tried to hang Officer Darrin Wilson.
It looks to me like the new shooting/ kill stats show that the bangers have better aim than they did last year. Similar number of shootings with more kills and more shots finding their targets.
As macabre as it seems I have long suggested that the crime situation might be improved if bangers had better aim. They would kill each other at higher rates and hopefully fire off random bullets at innocent victims less frequently. It is dark and ugly but this could be an improvement overall.
According to HeyJackass 2018 stats show 16.7% of shooting victims died from their wounds. So far this year that is up to 19.7%. Their aim is getting better. Provided these are killings of gang members and narco-traffickers and not domestics or innocents caught in crossfire the bangers themselves are cleaning up more crime than the law.
I feel for the CPD. Their hands are tied by budget, mismanagement and BLM political bullshit. The Ferguson effect is real. Given the reaction of "community" whenever the police have to use force I am surprised any CPD ever pursue criminals earnestly.
The crime mess wasn't caused by police. And it wasn't caused by POVERTY (at least not only poverty). It is a cultural problem caused by decades of policies that destroyed families and good communities (aka THE WAR ON POVERTY). It was fostered by crap housing policies and initiatives, corrupt politicians, shitty schools (teachers unions) and poorly executed police strategies. The police alone can't fix it and shouldn't be "held accountable" for the out of control crime. They are re-active by definition.
One last quick note on raising taxes (particularly REGRESSIVE taxes like those on drivers)... TAXING EVERYONE MORE DOESN"T ALLEVIATE POVERTY!! It creates it.
