- So not only did the Commander of 007 tell his officers NOT to lock anyone up over the weekend, when Officers took incoming fire via fireworks and one officer was burned badly enough to go IOD, the Commander wouldn't allow the offenders to be locked up.

I’d say this couldn’t have possibly happened, but then, in this day and age, with the leadership (or complete lack thereof) we have, nothing would surprise me at this point.
Oh yes, the castrated Chicago Police Department, now the buffoons have the nerve to shoot fireworks at us. When I was a young man, if anyone had the nerve to do that, the surgeons would STILL be trying to remove that old coppers foot out of the schmucks butt that did that.
I think the only way to not lock up anyone in 007 over the weekend or anytime for that matter is to stay in the station (and that may not even work).

As I’ve said on here before, NO ONE can tell you not to lock up an offender when you are the victim of a crime. IT IS ILLEGAL for even your commander to prevent you from defending yourself and doing your job. Injured officers in this situation need to contact a lawyer immediately.

A similar attack on Kaboom Day occured in College Park, Arkansas when the sheriff's police went to the aid of five people who had their hands blown off playing with fireworks. When they went to their aid, the "community" attacked them with fireworks. Defense Maiden/Blue Lives Matter has a good video of it on their site. So what does this tell you about helping these "communities"? Don't be foolish and go in, let them wallow in their own $hit.
Hugs and kisses to all the gang members and thugs these days. You want to bring crime down? Get back to locking up everything that moves for quality of life problems. Ten gang bangers sitting on a car drinking alcohol on the public way?? Lock all ten up for DOPW. Petty? Yep, sure is but who cares, they are gang members.. why give them a pass? Pissing outside? Lock them up. Dancing in the street blocking traffic? Obstruction of traffic. I’m not saying home invasions or any crazy stuff.. those days are gone. Doing legit quality of life arrests is better than the garbage these robot young cops do these days like suspended licenses. At least this gives cops the chance to get out of the car. If they stop a group they are bound to get a guy to run from the group because of a gun, dope, warrant etc. it’s all dead now. You can do anything now and it’s a free for all.
Ill go out on a stout limb and state that commander in question violated laws as well as policy. It’s sad that prick didn’t take action when his cop got injured.

Sorry to hear about the injured officer in 007. IF the story is true, and the commander refused to lock up the offender, the commander should be demoted, at least. These SJWs disgust me.

At 4:30am this morning, July 7th, Bt.700 got on the radio and told the dispatchers to inform the 1st watch cars that everyone is being held over and no one is to go in for checkoff.
I believe the correct charge for dancing in the streets would not be obstruction of traffic but unauthorized street performing without the proper license.
They were asked not to arrest anyone for petty BS. (Weed, DOPW, driving on suspended), so that they could be free to assist if and when the district blew up.

Not true. An officer got hit by a firework, but due to the chaos couldn’t ID the offender. Plenty of people got arrested that night for being unruly while partying.

Worked in 007 some years ago. 90’s. Ronnie Watson. Commander. Community policing was starting and they didn’t have enough cars. Watch commander, Acosta, federal parolee, thief of gold star families, had a thing for young male coppers, told me go on foot patrol. I went directly across the street to the liquor store and locked up 4 for Drinking on public way to the acting desk sergeants chagrin. Completed task three times in my watch while being told I couldn’t. Result.... got my own car next day, put on some list. Fuck them.
SCC, On a side note in 007 the new 3rd watch LT RW sprinkled all the roll calls with the activity speech on his 2ND DAY IN THE DISTRICT!!!! Someone should open his eyes to 007 being first across the board in everything until the inspectors were around everyday and check off times got fucked with. Just another boss with little man syndrome. Nobody gives a fuck that you don’t like getting emails from the commander, deal with it junior.

Yes, sir, I am with you as I was a West side wheel gun copper. I used to stock up on confiscated fireworks on occasion, but never arrested anyone for it. I do recall when one hard charger did arrest a citizen with a large amount of fireworks. He brought it all into the station. The desk sergeant called B&A and was pretty pissed.

this was common practice in 007 under Ford. He would order the watch commander to release prisoners arrested on felonies, to include attacking the police.

Great idea. You get a CR and give an attorney a $10,000 retainer to what end? Even if it’s bonafide and the commander gets 7 days, you are out 10k and that is the best case scenario
