- Chicago police are questioning a homeowner who shot an intruder outside his West Side home. It happened at about 5 a.m. in the 2900 block of West Walnut.
Police said the homeowner spotted the man in his backyard and shot him in the thigh. The wounded man was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital, where he's listed in good condition.
Police said the homeowner, who is a 54-year-old man, has a concealed carry license.
We can hardly wait for soy-beta-cuck Zorn to render a legal opinion on this one.

I don't understand the fixation that some have (including most of the media) with regards to whether or not a homeowner who shoots someone on his own property has a valid CCW permit. You don't need a CCW permit to have a weapon on your own property or in your home. This shooting and the one up in Lake County involved homeowners shooting people who ventured onto their property. You don't need a CCW permit to possess a weapon and/or use it under those circumstances. If you are not out and about concealing a weapon off of your property, the issue of whether someone has a CCW permit is meaningless.
Victim on private property, presumably his own. Concealed carry permit to exercise his Constitutional right not required; why is it being made an issue?

The 2nd amendment was put into play by individuals who had just fought a war against an oppressive

Law requirements are weapon must be legally owned and registered, which requires certification through ISP. Hence CCL (and fees & licensing charges)
