School Officer Rules

  • An agreement that set new ground rules for officers working in Chicago Public Schools was approved Wednesday despite months of public scrutiny and heavy criticism from students and one school board member who voted against the measure.

The plan, known as an intergovernmental agreement, laid out which scenarios should — and which should not — involve Chicago police officers stationed in schools, how the officers are selected for different schools and how a school can remove its officers.

The new rules came after 19 community meetings held at the end of this past school year and over the summer in which CPS and CPD representatives heard concerns and suggestions for reform.

The plan passed 5-1 at the Board of Education’s monthly meeting, but hours earlier a dozen students stood outside CPS headquarters downtown and urged the school district to keep officers out of schools.
Here's an idea:
  • Don't put officers where they aren't wanted
CPS administrators don't want us there. The students don't want us there. The schools refuse, time and again, to sign complaints for criminal matters. Teachers refuse to cooperate with investigations. The entire community is sold on this "school-to-prison pipeline" bullshit.

Don't man the schools. Respond only to situations that spiral out-of-control. Do not set foot into schools without a signed invitation from the administration and then only under direct supervision of the Watch/Field Lieutenant.

You want "no-go" zones - you got it.

There’s too many police officers that don’t want to be on the streets or they don’t have enough seniority on days to get 2nd watch so they volunteer for the schools.

That's funny.
The po's who do the school nonsense were all trying to generate resumes last week.
They asked me for help and I asked them WHY?
Why the fuck are you so interested in participating in a system that dosent respect you at all?

Own it. Good luck.

The problem is that eventually one of the fruit loop student disciplinary cases in Chicago is going to shoot up a school. Maybe because he hates a teacher, or some students, or it's Wednesday. Or it's a business dispute gone bad. Or maybe no reason at all. If there aren't police on site to stop the murdering asshole, questions will be asked, and the CPD will be blamed.

At least now there will be written rules. Use them.

Doing this the "SCC Way" would be a
grudging admission that The Police
aren't what's wrong with the victimology
indoctrination centers called Chicago
Public Schools.

Let the feral, hateful, strong-as-any-two-normal-adults -
breathtakingly violent, six foot tall, 200 pound (male and female)
already actively fighting/fucking like adults, 12 to 20 year old
"children" and the leftist, Police-Hating, communist teachers and
administrators work their angst out on each other free from Police
presence/interference/intervention.

The CPS/CTU communists can declare themselves "Dizzy With Success"
to resurrect a bit of old Soviet phraseology...

"WAH! You old, bitter Cops and your long memories
are ALWAYS SPOILING EVERYTHING! We'll be so glad
when they FINALLY make you guys all go away!"

I have worked all over the city including the west and south sides. I would rather be on midnights anywhere than to be stuck in a Chicago Public School. You would be more welcome in a country in the Middle East or North Korea. Working in a school as a PO would be like Trump showing up at the Democratic National Convention. Don’t forget the staff went to the colleges and picked up those far left viewpoints from the Saul Alinsky type professors and are now indoctrinating the students whose brains (frontal lobes) have not developed yet. And if you have to take any police actions every cellphone from students and staff will be trained on you. Not a good place to be, been there done that.

Cps has its own budget. CPS actually pays the CPD for the officers in the schools. It’s a shell game of money in budgets. Example: 2 officers are in school X the CPS literally pays the salary of the two officers everyday they are inside that school. It’s a way of robbing Peter to pay Paul with budget tricks and moving money around. If you take out the officers from the schools then you have to increase the CPD budget. If you do that then you have to remove the money from the CPS budget and give it to the CPD budget. No mayor will ever be put on stage and asked why they lowered the school budget and raised the police budget because that’s how it would look and it would be unpopular. It’s not about cops In the schools, it’s about the two budgets. It’s like when CHA got rid of the housing police.. then they made housing units massive. Every officer they could stick in housing got paid for by the feds. It freed up money in the cpd budget having to not pay the officers... politics all the way.

Make it simple people.

If you take the Assignment to be a School Resource Officer...Sit in your Office and wait for a Call.

GO to the call. Ask will there be a signed complaint by the School to press charges. If No, go back to your office and SIT DOWN.

If yes (and we know the odds on this one) Do your Paper, call for a Squadroll for Transport and go back to your Office and wait for ht next call.

IF a Fight occurs, you don't need the schools permission to arrest and charge. But call for backup first and make sure everyone turns on their body cameras before Engaging the "Choir Boys' and "Girl Scouts" that are just "Funnin' "

CYA and don't do shit other than take calls and watch Netflix.

A Teach For America representative reached out to me during my junior year of college. Not knowing much about the organization or having much career direction, I took the meeting. Standard sales pitch, but towards the end, I started cottoning on to the fact that I wouldn't be teaching in the private schools to which liberal politicians send their kids. When I started probing him on where I'd actually end up, his whole demeanor changed - his enthusiasm vanished, and he immediately turned very taciturn. He knew he had lost the sale. Didn't even make eye contact at the goodbye.

To this day, I can't fathom how someone's parental instinct would go so haywire as to teach at these godforsaken schools. However, I do know the kind of people who push the bag of goods at them - phonies.

The agreement also needs to be that if you want the cops in the school and you call a cop to deal with a situation and administrator must sign a complaint no more of this bullshit. Otherwise let the teachers go break up the fight.

If your argument is a school shooter, how come we only have coppers in schools in the ghetto? I don’t see any coppers assigned to schools in 016. I did the school officer thing the last 5 years of my career.
I was in one the most shithole schools in the city, in 011.
Still, 95% of the time, nothing serious goes on in even the most fucked up of schools.
So, for me, no radio calls, no expectation to generate bullshit movers and/or parkers, no fuckin babydaddy/babymomma domestics all day,no supervisors fuckin with me about my lunch timing, no denial of lunch because "We're in Rap", having a 3 day weekend every Monday holiday, being able to conduct pretty much all of my personal business, and OH YEAH... having straight weekends off, like the majority of the working world, made it more than worth that 5% of the time, when I wanted cut my own throat, and would swear "I'm not doing this school officer shit next year".
I found the worst aspect of being a school officer was often the principal.
They're so used to everyone in the building jumping when told to do so.
Some of them simply can't comprehend that THE SCHOOL OFFICER ISN'T ONE OF THEIR SCHOOL EMPLOYEES. That, you telling to them arrest someone means Jack Shit to them. That they determine whether or not an arrest is warranted...Not You! (principal)
I had to literally tell her (principal) "I don't work for you". When she failed to understand, partner and I had our Sgt (God rest his soul) come to the school and further impress it upon her that "My Guys Work for CPD, not CPS". "You have an issue with my guys, call me".
I got into an actual shouting match with the assistant principal in the hall, in front of faculty & students. She was pissed because I wouldn't detain a student while his parent was on the way to the school. Told her dumb ass I had no reason to detain him because he hadn't done anything. And that it wasn't police matter anyway. He ran out of the building. She approached me and some sideways shit, about me not doing my job. She then got talked to like any other fucker on the streets would have, had they said disrespectful shit to me.
Once again, Sarge came in and backed me up. Told her "If you want them out of this school, fine". "But the district doesn't have the manpower to send two other PO's here". "So, it might be awhile". She eventually ended up tucking her tail and apologizing to me.
It aint a bad assignment, if you know how to make it work for you. Though, I totally understand how it's not for most PO's.

God Bless and good for you!

You were lucky to have a Sergeant who wasn't
a weakling and a coward like so many who would
knuckle under and bow their heads every time
a teacher or administrators in a CPS/CTU gulag
would get a hair across their ass whenever a
Policeman would tell them what they could
and could not do in matters pertaining to
detaining/putting hands on one of these
"children..."

"You're asking me to not only do something illegal
but also to violate that child's constitutional rights."

"You're just trying to get out of doing your JOB!"
"I'm calling the COMMANDER on YOU!"
"I'm GETTING a C/R# on you!"
"I don't want you in MY SCHOOL anymore!"
"Y'all ain't SHIT!"

And a host of other silly heifer/ignorant,
mis-educated, simple-minded sow utterances...

What you infer is very true.
Policemen rate a little lower than a designated CPS
scraper-of-shit off the sidewalk in their eyes
and they WILL TELL YOU SO at every opportunity.

Heh...

"SOMEBODY... Bettah come clean this up!"

Nothing irks them more than a Policeman who
KNOWS the law and how it applies pertaining to
his presence in these seething shit pits called
schools.

"Uppity-assed, know-it-all Cop!"

Since the teachers, administrators, staffers and students
haate and revile The Police so much and Police presence is
so alarming and insulting to them, pull The Police out.

Let the teachers, administrators and staffers hug
the six foot, 200 pound (male and female) "children"
into compliance and submission when they have a
melt-down for whatever reason.

Let them work out their angst amongst each other
without ANY Police being present or any Police
interference/intervention.

You know...
Since The Police are the problem.

Right?

went to catholic h.s. in the sixtys. zero disiplinary problems. the brothers ran a tight ship and had a dean of discipline that looked like sgt carter from gomer pyle usmc. hallways and classrooms were quiet! zero talk back. they had a boxing ring in the gym and any hard case that wanted to go over the line was invited to suit up and box the brothers after class. brothers were in their 20s-30s and in shape and always won. of course the worst punishment came when they called the old man and told him you were fucking up his tuition dollars he worked that second job for. no dcfs then. we didnt have silly classes or ac or carpeting just the basics readin writin and rithmatic but everyone who went there went on to have solid careers and families. kids actually need discipline and structure in their lives and knowing how to tie a tie at an early age didnt hurt. all that feel good b s in the cps has robbed these kids of their futures. its for the children, what a sick joke, its all for the teachers union and the kids are collateral damage. fuck the communist production system and their red shirt imbeciles !

I want a cop at each school strictly to respond to shooting situations not to be gophers or security guards or anything else.

Just have a cop and his car and weapons at each school to shoot anybody who starts shooting. He doesn’t even need to walk inside he just needs to be on site to stop a shooter and for no other reason. It’s a reasonable insurance investment. We do it for casinos and banks, let’s protect our kids as though they were as valuable as rich people’s money.

Sandy Hook was our worst fear and we saw it happen so let’s just go ahead and make sure there’s 1 police officer with a pistol and shotgun and armor and a K9 just hanging out at school all day.
