Poor Fat Tony wouldn't survive a demotion. Being demoted from Commander, or "King" as he likes to refer to himself in his current position, would be personally devastating. To Tony, its the rank and not the paycheck that matters. He'd be a Commander for free if need be just to retain the title.
Having worked with and for him, I can honestly say he's the worst exempt I've ever had to deal with. He treats all below his rank with disdain, and consciously works to make life miserable for his subordinates. No detail is too small for him to overlook. He gets to know whats going on in the personal lives of those under him, and then does whatever he can to screw with them in the worst possible way. It's my honest belief he takes great pleasure in doing so. I don't know what kind of childhood he had, but it must have been really messed up to create such an evil, vindictive person.
So, needless to say, I'm no fan of Fat Tony. I think he is most deserving of a demotion. But he shouldn't be demoted to Captain. Instead, he should be sent all the way back to Lieutenant. Which, coincidentally, is also the last career service rank he was merit promoted to. That's the other thing about Tony, he has yet to meet a promotional exam he can actually pass.
And Tony, I know when you read this you'll be trying to figure out who wrote it. The unfortunate problem for you is that the list of potential authors is too long for you to definitively guess. But I did leave you a nice "clue."

Only in the Bizarro World of the City of Chicago can the Inspector General recommend termination for a Commander, because of theft of services and a rule 14, and he only gets a 7 day suspension. Blatant corruption in the Windy City is tolerated. Even when Escamerit makes the newspapers in the U.K.
Ed characterized Escamerit's malfeasance as a 'mistake.' A mistake would have been if Escamerit's private babysitter couldn't make it to his home, because of an emergency, so Tony had a Sgt or P.O. pick up his kid in a city vehicle and it somehow made the news. That would be a 'mistake.'

Tony was able to get away with a lot of his shit in 025 because the cops were burned out, too busy working side jobs to help pay off their ex-wives and child support. It was easier for most of them to just bid out. The Sgts and Lts couldn't really argue back with him until the Inspector General investigation. Hopefully if he gets demoted they will put him someplace where the Commander or Captain hates him. As far as Sgts and patrolmen go, he has too much baggage with complaints to really say much. But other than that he's a great leader.

As far as demoting a Commander goes, I always thought that they could get demoted back to down to a Lieutenant? I do know for a fact that Commander (Now Deputy) Avila was dumped ten years ago by J-Fed to the rank of Lieutenant. Maybe because he hadn't been a Commander for 3 years or was never a Captain? Someone please set the record straight.

So members of BOC have been directed by the Chief, who is married to Blago’s sister, to utilize the Illinois State Police F-Tip system to check officers off duty weapons purchases for COPA. This system is for criminal investigations ONLY, not for administrative investigations. This directive violates the MOU between the city and the state. Keep this in mind when you are summoned to make a statement, leave and ensure you have an attorney. Oh and by the way the F-Tip system is not being purged and has every firearms purchase EVER made by citizens and officers in the history of the State of Illinois with an FOID card. The one rumor I heard was Escamerit was going to hit the medical for a year until he turns 50. The rat fuck only turned 49 last month. That way they can't demote him while he's on the medical (Don't know how true that is, just what I heard) and then he'll retire and collect his commander pension. Escamerit tried to get tough with me once. In the lot of the station when I was by myself he came outside when he saw me. It was just us with no other witnesses around. I guess because of his rank, and that he's physically bigger then me, he thought he could intimidate me. Right off the bat he could tell by the look in my eyes that I'd have no problem telling him to go fuck his mother.
After only a minute of his failed attempt at being a tough guy he pretty much skulked away like a dog with his tail between his legs. It was right then that I knew for certain what I had always suspected and that was that Tony was nothing more then a dumb, useless coward.
I'd have actually been worried if it was him accompanied by another white shirt because then he would have had a witness if he asked me where my beat tag was or some other stupid bullshit and if I ended up cussing him out. Then I would have been in trouble. By that time though he had already alienated all of the other supervisors and since I was well liked there were not many that would have wanted to get involved to begin with.
Just goes to show what a stupid pussy Anthony is. And how his power is an illusion when it comes to confrontation. If he does get demoted and winds up a Lt. in some hell hole, then don't back down from him. I can speak from personal experience that Escamerit is a 100% Grade A, Certified Bridgeport Bitch!!!

pay them at pensionable civil service rank , give them a yearly bonus ,nonpensionable , based on performance . They can keep titles but not pensionable salary .

The few people at the top are not getting paid enough extra over what other cops get to make any real difference in the pension mess.
In fact, if you crunch the numbers, the fact that they are paying in their share over more years than the typical cop might actually be slightly beneficial as far as funding goes.

He literally grabbed the imaginary bars on his civilian collar and started berating the one copper and invoking his own Mexican heritage. The guy who he was yelling at partner (BT)came up and informed Tony that there was no chain of command in the bar and that if he kept his shit up, he would take him outside and beat his ass. Tony walked away with his tail between his legs and never looked the officer in the eye again during his tenure in englewood.
