Hope the copper okay - but he's gonna be sore come morning - and probably good & concussed.

Always thought "whiplash" BS. Then I got rammed from behind while stopped at a red light - by a 30-something texting while driving. Believe me, whiplash VERY real & very long-lasting, Learned the acrid smell of air bag detonator charges - knocked momentarily unconscious by the impact. Blasted my car 15ft forward into the vehicle in front of me, accordioned my own but good, completely totaled. Naturally,I'd just sunk 1200 bucks repairs into it the week before.

6+ years later still can't turn my head all the way to the left. Shredded the ligaments in my neck & shoulder. Nice. I learned what a serious concussion is too - you know how a car windshield has that strip of tinted glass along its top edge? That was my vision for a week after - starting the morning after. When the adrenaline finally wore off.

Ever since EVERY red light stopped I keep an eye on my rear view mirror, ready to getTF outta the way the next road hazard a-hole TWD. Yeah drunk drivers are a problem but texting while driving a fricking national menace.

Thanks for letting me vent ... And again hope/trust the copper not badly injured OR lingering after effects.

Avoid hitting those big blue and white explorers with sirens, the occupants of those vehicles are always really pissy when you’re drunk and you run into them. Weird.

Any word on the lucky drunk who has earned bragging rights for rolling into a squad? Local boy or a stranger from another land?

OT but speaking of cars,,,it’s the owner of the stolen Lexus that killed that 14 yo choir boy looking for a bathroom down the old man’s dirt road!!! Just ask WEINER from Glencoe PD. Unfucking believable.

The 20 Strike Cook Co DUI.

Those surprise rear enders are horrible. Hope they don’t have lasting problems.
Please wear those seatbelts for those unexpected events.

Tight wad City and FOOP negotiated some givebacks for more vehicles, didn’t get much, did it?
Sanctuary has its money tied up in entitlements.
Minimum an 8 year old pool car and guessing 170,000 on the clock?
Probably a former wolley taxi cab too and still likely the pride of the fleet.
Engine good - suspension not so much.

Get a good attorney.

Whiplash is bad and sorry to hear about your injuries. But the part of looking in rear mirror might work in most cases when you look and realize the drunk is approaching at 40mph and isn’t going to stop it’s too late or you think he’s not going to stop and he does and you rear end the car in front trying to get out of the way

Drunk drivers are a serious concern and unfortunately there are only a couple officers in each district that arrest these people. I hope these officers are alright. Just remember folks, for all you newbie's, Officer Gordon was killed by a drunk driver in 011 many years ago. If you stop a drunk driver, please don't let them go. If you don't want to arrest them, call another officer that will.

Their lawyer will blame them for getting his way. The CPD is always at fault.

I tell all new officers do DUI's. The more you do the better you get at them. Don't rely on another officer to handle your job. If you need assistance that is fine but process the arrest.

Back and neck injuries never go away. I have back and neck pain just about every day. Some days worst than other days. Had back surgery, it helped to some degree. Just wish I never had bad and neck injuries. Vehicle accidents are nothing to take lightly.
