Paintball Gun

  • A Chicago police officer was shot by a paintball gun by someone inside a van in the Englewood neighborhood Thursday night, police said.

The on-duty officer was dressed as a civilian and on the sidewalk conducting an investigation at about 11:25 p.m. in the 5800-block of South Loomis Boulevard when someone inside a black van fired a paintball gun, police said.

The officer was hit in his left side but was not injured. Police pursued the vehicle to Calumet Park, where three male suspects fled on foot.

One suspect was taken into custody and no injuries were reported. Area South detectives are investigating.
No idea if it was deliberately targeting a cop or just idiots looking for a quick drive-by score. It could have been bad either way and can you imagine if any of the cops justifiably returned fire and wounded or killed on of these assholes?
  • But it was only a paintball gun!
What a shitshow that would have ended up being, and it's fucking sad that we have to think that way nowadays where the political winds dictate how we respond to crap like this.

Idiots.

They will hit the wrong youth someday, and then bullets will fly.

I was there the night Alex Valadez was dressed in civilian clothes at 62nd & Hermitage "conducting a street investigation" and unfortunately, it wasn't a "paint-ball" gun.

R.I.P. Brother

Thanks to all the citywide people who responded that night and especially the dicks from Area One who not only charged the shooter within 24 hours, but actually hunted down two more accomplices over the course of the next few months.

These little fuckers need to ask their grandparents, or really great grandparents or grandmamas about the good old days in englewood when they would have had to deal with the likes of the late officer shotgun murphy or his partner!!! They have no idea how lucky they are in todays fucked up world!!! Honestly they would be shitting their teeth, at the very least.

Those solid rubber balls can really leave a nasty bruise. I'd like to see the city add sublethal remote guns to the CPD camera pods. They shoot up to 155 bullets, very similar to a SAPS (South African Police Service) rubber bullet used in riot control. And imagine the Lake County elderly home owner using this device remotely rather than confronting the feral scumbags. Interesting read about these remote guns. https://www.sublethal.co.za/what-is-a-remote-gun.php#usa

Does the 2ndA protect paintball guns? Tough questions!

OT but amusing... NYC always makes me feel better about living in Chicago at times.

At least we can still say Illegal Alien. Hell, we can say "Illegal Alien with a paintball gun" if the above trend continues into other neighborhoods. Lucky us!

If I was a lawyer I would say offices were over reacting, they scared my clients— give me money NOW; and I would be working for a law firm that is closely associated with aldermen. I would make millions

Just a test run. Wanted to see how you reacted. Next time teal lead. Be careful. If your in the Ghetto for any reason, wear vest. If you don't your a fool asking for trouble. Street clothes in community don't cut it anymore you all now have targets on your back. Dude Inc is in charge and you will become collateral damage.

Englhood, like most of the south and west sides, at one time, was a nice middle class, safe to walk the streets, neighborhood. The generation born in the 1930s and 40s would recall the stories. What a shame these ferals exist and are permitted to run wild. Clean up your own grootie poopie.

I dont know how you blue stand it. God bless and keep you safe.

Omg this is brilliant. I want several. That said, can you imagine the feral mounting and using these things?

Still a fabulous alternative.

Fools? They're morons! Think of all the kids who were
shot holding plastic guns, let alone firing a projectile at
a cop. Paintball is high sport in the hood. They never
think about the undercover but they get busted by them
all the time.

Any Paintballs being fired at me will be met with deadly force via my 45. Getting hit in the eye and possibly losing that eye /.vision is great bodily harm / permanent debilitating injury.

When paintball was first starting off in mid 80’s, I went to one and only outing not knowing anything.
Long sleeves and eyewear and no head shots were the only rules to rent a pump action PB gun.
Well your opponent team, the regulars PB’ers all had full battle turtle armor and CO2 autos.
Should have bailed.
After getting pelted with a couple times, scrounged up corrugated cardboard boxes to make a wrap around vest under my sweatshirt.
Welts lasted for days.

Anyway...
The standard They Clowin’ CookCo defense.
The one feral that was driving will see the brunt of of the penalty by having to go all the way down to traffic court on the dreaded DeadRedLine for his SOL...of course that’s after he’s caught next year on the failure to appear warrant.

Stay Fetal, mind your bidness at hand.
Getting involved in ghetto affairs serves no purpose.

You’re on duty and hear “pop pop pop” feeling several impacts to your body as you see a person pointing a gun-like device at you. You notice a red liquid on your uniform where the impacts were. Prior to taking action you first politely ask that person to please stop shooting at you and if the gun is real or not. If the nice person tells you to pound sand you then send the red liquid to be analyzed by ISP to see if it is blood or paint. If the results come back as blood then you have the clearance to ask your supervisor if it’s OK to ask the CCSAO to for permission to engage the person who is shooting at you. When permission is declined you give $5 to the person shooting at you to stop.

Back when Alex was murdered there was no such thing as area south, central or north. 007 was in what was once known as area 1 which is now area central. There's your history lesson kid, thanks for making me feel old! God bless you Alex, remember that day like is was yesterday.

Dear Fake News, If the officer had on a gunbelt and was wearing a vest that may have said "POLICE" on the back, he was not "dressed as a civilian."

You numbskulls in the media are going to play your games until the bitter end I see. Don't worry, that day is fast approaching.

Its a tough call what to do if being shot at with something that you know is non-lethal. Not real sure how a jury would see such a situation. They might see it as legitimate self defense or they might see it otherwise.

Best to make sure you don't know it is a nonlethal weapon when you start shooting back.
