This is Ironic

  • A police chief had her personal items stolen downtown while visiting Chicago for an international police chiefs conference Friday, according to Chicago police sources.

The victim, a 55-year-old woman from Virginia was sitting in an establishment in the 500 block of North Wabash around 6:30 p.m. when she had her personal belongings swiped, Chicago police say.
Not noted in the article is the alerts the chief received on her phone regarding the thousands of dollars in purchases from high-end shops in the neighborhood.

Welcome to Chicago Chief!!

“..............President Donald Trump is expected to speak at the conference on Monday, but Chicago’s top cop will not be in attendance.

“With some of our communities under siege it just doesn’t line up with our city’s core values along with my personal values but I will tell you this, I still have given approval for officers to attend if they so choose to so it’s not about the department it’s really about me,” said Chicago Police Superintendent Eddie Johnson..............”. (CBS 2)

Well there you have it, the Superintendent is going to boycott the President’s speech at the Police Chief’s Conference on Monday but he has given his approval for police officers to attend if they choose to do so. Who is he kidding, isn't anyone not working the streets will be assigned to the Presidential detail (news reports claimed 1,800 personnel assigned) and to the teachers strike. Tours extended, days off canceled for Monday. Who has the time? Maybe he means when the President speaks at 1400hrs you all can take your lunch break and attend the speech!! Someone should represent the CPD.

So the big question of the day is, will all the Police Chiefs be armed at the Trump speech Monday? Legally they can be but Secret Service may have other ideas. The Chiefs might have to fight their way out of meeting with Antifa and rabid teachers on the warpath. Hope they are armed and there is a lot of protestor blood in the streets. But remember leave the teachers alone no arrests or Grout will have your job. Got that leave those teachers alone.

The VA Chief will also be exposed to the Chicago-style media reporting of this incident. It’ll give no physical description or security camera images and will slightly blame the victim for not being more attuned to her surroundings. (Yet, if she is attuned to ‘suspicious’ people close to her surroundings, she’ll be labeled a racist for immediately Thinking that this menacing ‘group of teens’ is out to steal her belongings.)
Silver Lining here is that the VA Chief will return home, relay her experience with the rumored ‘Chicago Creature’ and urge all of her coworkers, family, friends, neighbors and 2,000 Facebook followers to Never visit Chicago...

Eric carter and his band of arm candy ladies he brought to that unit have zero clue what they are doing with this one. Allegedly they have had to revise the order multiple times because they are inept. Not even a start time... nothing.. you realize people have kids right??? You realize that it’s hard sometimes to get a babysitter locked down when you have no clue what time you need to be st work or potentially what time you will be working till right? OT. Napolitano, you're playing with fire coming up with and pushing the new "farm animal" ordinance. OF COURSE you politicians want a $25 per animal yearly fee! ANYTHING to get more money from the little guy! So the family with a few chickens in the back yard might have to pay $100 (FOR NOW! I remember $40 city stickers) just to have those chickens? That takes away the little money savings by having your own chickens. What? Did egg purchases notably drop at Mariano's? When my wife told me You (Napolitano) were attached to this local government overreach of our private property rights I damn near blew a gasket. Spend your time blocking huge developments that fundamentally change our neighborhood, not some small time backyard farmers. ANYTHING to slap a tax onto right? I thought Republicans were different?
I have NO backyard animals, nor do I intend to. It's you and your fellow politicians sticking your nose in our back yards that pissed me off. If neighbors don't have a problem with it, the govt. shouldn't be concerned what animals I have in my yard, nor be able to TAX a source of eggs, milk, etc.
I'm shocked you made the news creating and supporting this idea. Lopez sounds like an idiot. People in small cities and towns grow up shooting unlike your state that you have to pay state to even touch a gun in sporting goods store. My guess in the town I live 95% of the homes are armed. Very little crime and what there is our police have a pretty good idea who is a fault. Oh yea 3 killings over the last 5 years and all solved within two days. That would be 100% homicide clearance rate. Finally no Democrats on ballot at last local election. Think there could be a correlation between Republican leadership and low crime?

spAn ignition interlock device or breath alcohol ignition interlock device (IID or BAIID) is a breathalyzer for an individual's vehicle. It requires the driver to blow into a mouthpiece on the device before starting or continuing to operate the vehicle. If the resultant breath-alcohol concentration analyzed result is greater than the programmed blood alcohol concentration (which varies between countries), the device prevents the engine from being started. The interlock device is located inside the vehicle, near the driver’s seat, and is directly connected to the engine’s ignition system.[1]

An ignition interlock interrupts the signal from the ignition to the starter until a valid breath sample is provided that meets maximal alcohol guidelines in that state. At that point, the vehicle can be started as normal. At random times after the engine has been started, the IID will require another breath sample, referred to as a rolling retest. The purpose of the rolling retest is to prevent someone other than the driver from providing a breath sample. If the breath sample isn't provided, or the sample exceeds the ignition interlock's preset blood alcohol level, the device will log the event, warn the driver, and then start up an alarm in accordance to state regulations (e.g., lights flashing, horn honking) until the ignition is turned off, or a clean breath sample has been provided. A common misconception is that interlock devices will simply turn off the engine if alcohol is detected; this would, however, create an unsafe driving situation and expose interlock manufacturers to considerable liability. Ignition interlock devices do not have an automatic engine shut off feature.ecial fathead invest in this:

Go ahead and make fun of those small chiefs. Bet they all have dramatically better crime statistics than the CPD. But then that's not saying much because almost every city large and small has fewer murders, shooting and robberies than Chicago and the famous CPD. But when your Superintendent is drinking and driving and you do nothing to him what can one expect.

Since Fat Head admitted to drinking and driving why not issue him a ticket for impaired driving. By his own admission he is guilty now so something about it. Is there even one manor woman on the CPD with an ounce of intestinal fortitude? Didn't think so.

Agree 100%. And FYI, those of you who live in the 38th ward, Alderman Nick Sposato does NOT support this ridiculous ordinance. Thanks for being the only bright spot in Chicago politics, sir.

So here is your union out. Drop the FOP and become Teamsters. They won't cross picket lines so all you have to so is establish picket lines anywhere you want to shut down and the city will come to the table very quickly. You have enough men and family members to man the picket lines in their free time. Pick 5 or 6 high profile targets and keep their deliveries from reaching them. Mayor will have no option to settle.

Supposedly, Its been tried before and what stopped its ratification was the stipulation in the contract the news union has to be run by po’s

Young man. Check your history. CPD officers tried this once before. Teamsters spent a lot of time and money to become the CPD officers union. It was an all out push but when the voting came CPD voted for the FOP. Don’t think the Teamsters will be back anytime soon. You don’t get many second chances

There were more than a few people complaining about the chickens in 45 recently. The food left for the chickens attracts rats. It may have escaped your attention, but we lead the nation having the most rats here. I'm talking about the 4 legged kind. Napolitano's ward abuts the Forest Preserve District, so there are likely more critters attracted to the chicken's coops.

This isn't farmland and rats carry all kinds of diseases. People living in Chicago shouldn't expect to have chickens or livestock in the city..

You're kidding right? Eddie the Rat is the one that walked with the protesters arm in arm down the Ryan. And Groot is all for pandering to the miscreant yobs and their useless parents. Remember her whining, "The city should have been better prepared for spring break, to make sure that kids who can’t afford to go off to Florida for the week actually have something productive to do." You see it's always someone else's fault. The thieving kids are victims in her warped vision. She hates cops and men and is a liberal extremist that believes in more fees and taxes and always has bucks for the lazy freeloader mutts (that includes the CPS ilk). And Eddie is a useless moron, a drunken puppet. Want positive change, don't wait for it, it's not coming. Move if at all possible.

Those are PPOs. They are assigned to unit 044 until they complete their probation. So, although alot of them may be suck asses, the mass majority are unhappy PPOs just beginning to realize how much the department uses and abuses it's faithful employees.

Wowsie, someone sure got their panties in a bunch. On behalf of the 2.7 million residents of the City of Chicago, just want to extend condolences on having your purse swiped, despite the sign that clearly stated: " Swipers, no swiping".

Let me tell a story that will best encapsulate the atmosphere that is the Windy City:

Crab mentality, also known as crabs in a bucket (also barrel, basket, or pot) mentality, is a way of thinking best described by the phrase "if I can't have it, neither can you".The metaphor is derived from a pattern of behavior noted in crabs when they are trapped in a bucket. While any one crab could easily escape, its efforts will be undermined by other, ensuring the group's collective demise.

Please enjoy your visit, tell all your friends back home about the Wicked City.

There were plenty of rats in the city way before backyard chickens were on the radar. If it's such a problem then why still allow them with a $25 per TAX?? Cause it's about squeezing money from the little guy.TAX TAX TAX. Don't we already pay for rat abatement anyway? You guys are the same Laydowns that take whatever shit the dept throws at you too. "If you want chickens move to the country" ...Probably said in the same breath as "If you don't like the CPD job go work somewhere else" Unaccepting to anything outside your little "Norm".

Just like the last IACP, PPOs were used because they can abused by the bosses. They look very pretty in prisitne, shiny uniforms and they will stay on post forever because they are told to do so. Also, they can work a 12-15 hr day without paying them OT. What DO they get? Free lunch and dinner. It can be a real shame to see how fellow cops are treated.

i had a very close nieghbor with chickens for a couple years. while im not against home gardening and raising a few animals it appears to me its a lot of effort for some cheap eggs and meat. lots of flies, mice and stink in the summer, lots of flies! also draws every racoon and cat and stray dog in the area all the time. effort doesnt seem to justify the reward imo especially on a small city lot. i do agree allowing a nuisance for a fee is bullshit. allow it or dont allow it but dont allow it and tax it. if these fools had any business sense they would see taxing everything that moves or breathes will put us in a death spiral like new yawk in the 70s or detroit now. close the damn door on the freebees and quit complaining the citys broke!
