- The Chicago Police Board on Thursday officially began its nationwide search for the city’s next top cop to succeed outgoing police Superintendent Eddie Johnson.
The nine-member board compiled a five-page job application that lists more than a dozen requirements for the job, including ensuring the 13,400-strong Police Department is compliant with its federally mandated consent decree in a timely manner and overseeing policies that address the mental health of officers.
Those are two key issues facing the Police Department. Just last week, a court-ordered monitor overseeing the consent decree announced the city has missed most of its deadlines to enact certain reforms within the Police Department. And the department has also placed a special emphasis on hiring more mental health clinicians after eight Chicago cops died by suicide in little over a year.
The Police Board is tasked with choosing three finalists to be the next top cop before submitting their names to Mayor Lori Lightfoot for her consideration. Candidates have until Jan. 13 to apply, and the application was posted Thursday on the board’s website, ChicagoPoliceBoard.org

We do not have a federally mandated consent decree. The current administration wanted nothing to do with it. It's forced on us by the state of Illinois and Lisa Madigan. It's all a smoke screen to blame the Police, hide Democratic corruption, and get low iq voters to keep voting Democratic.

I'd say it sounds like the perfect job for Anthony Escamerit except for the last part about thick skin because everyone knows he's a sensitive little bitch. My apologies to everyone in 025 tomorrow after he reads this comment but he's such an easy, fat, stupid target that I couldn't resist ; )

I just went to the website to fill out the application. It asked for my sex so I put in "Male" and then asked for my race and I typed in "White." Then the whole thing locked up. Anybody know why????

You Sir, have no clue how it works... Beck is a puppet that has a short shelf life. His job is to do whatever Lori instructs him to do. Why? Because Lori wants an ultra progressive liberal outsider to come in as her “yes madam mayor” man or woman. Beck is here to do Lori’s dirty work and then slip into the darkness of insignificant land. After the housecleaning is done, the progressive chief will place her people into the spots. And...... if you think for a second those Anointed managers (probably civilian outsiders) will be better than what we currently have I have a bridge to sell you.

You can heighten your chances if constantly talking about the use of proper pronouns and not triggering anyone in the trans community and welcoming all illegal aliens to the sanctuary city of Shitcago. Of course you must hate ICE with a passion, be a climate change freak, and believe in the Demoncratic philosophy of giving stuff away to special groups for free. Further you will get points for rattling on about deescalating and not pulling a gun when someone has a knife. You must make it clear you want to help the criminal savage not hurt him. Heard from a very good source, the mayor is going to hire a retired P.O. from CPD. The individual takes no shit from any politician or clergy, and backs the P.O. 100%.Will also bring back Stop and Frisk. Will eliminate all inspectors, as well as all clout connected merit promotions.This individual will always take the word of a Police Officer, over the Thugs on the street. This individual believes in denying no one, time due. He is very family oriented, and genuinely cares about the Physical and Emotional well being of the Officers. He does not believe in quotas and will not tolerate Command staff that do not show the P.O. the utmost respect. He will see to it that the Dept. has the best vehicles. Some may ask how the Dept. can afford that, and his answer is simply by eliminating the body cameras, the cameras in the vehicles, and getting rid of half the exempt ranks forever thereby saving money in the pension fund.
