Better pray for more snow Ed. 011 is sitting at 66 or 67 right now and there isn't a year on record that they didn't have at least 6 murders in the last two months of the year. Write it off.

Whose job is it to wake up the area North Teams to get them to west side? They will need a good GPS and list of good coffee and lunch stops to be of any use.

Ed seriously thinks he can stop 011 from getting 3 more Homicides in 2 months!? HA! The 011th district community will not be happy when they hear this. Expect 3 in the next 7-10 business days.
He and the city are receiving national and worldwide attention again due to terrible murder and shooting rates. He's trying to fix the problem with two months to go. He should have been doing this in January preparing for the summer months.

Never. The mayor said she hopes the revenues will be enough to cover the contract which is estimated to cost 1 BILLION. If true where will she get the money for ours? Probably property taxes and we will get blamed for the increase in property taxes. This after settling the teachers contract after we have been waiting almost 2 1/2 years. Would have been nice if we got our contract settled for 16% no increase in healthcare premiums and then the city could worry about finding money for the teachers

You ain’t seen nothing yet. Brand new, crime fighting strategy, will be announced, for Spring 2020. This will involve specialized units being detailed to districts. You will not report to Homan. You will be assigned a district. SWAT boys, you are up first.
No more OT at sporting events or concerts for SWAT. 60 SWAT officers sitting around doing nothing really pissed off the Mayor. A video surfaced of two SWAT officers caught sleeping at Cellular Field. Video was sent to Lightfoot. She was PISSED and so was the Supt. SWAT has embarrassed the Supt in the past, and now he is in the hot seat again because of them. The Mayor and Supt want more accountability concerning specialized units. SWAT is first up.
The Final Draft has not been approved yet detailing SWAT, but it is being finalized. SWAT will be assigned to the following districts: (005, 007, 011 and 015). SWAT Sergeants and Coordinator are excluded at this time. This SWAT District Initiative will begin 01 April 2020, on 1st and 3rd watch. SWAT Support will be assigned to the 011th District only. This is being done, in case, the SWAT vehicles are requested.
SWAT, will be able to keep their take home vehicles for call outs. SWAT will be assigned, to work in their blue uniforms. No more military green BDUs. SWAT district duties will include, responding to in progress calls that have a potential of violence, especially EDP calls. SWAT will also be available for arrest/search warrant operations. SWAT officers, can also be assigned to a tactical team if the DC requests. Expect SWAT officers to be assigned to static violent zones.
The Detail Unit has begun training and getting ready to stand up Special Response Teams for active shooter and potential terrorist attacks. Past and present leadership of the detail unit, felt SWAT is not earnings their keep at these events. Former SWAT officers are now conducting the training for them.

If this is remotely true, I am bidding to a district of my choice. I’ve had enough of this BS. Rotating watches. Our hours changing weekly. No major swat team does this to its people. We don’t even train.

NOT JUST THE NORTHSIDE TACT and GANG TEAMS. Rumor has it, specialized units from Homan Square will also be going. If they want to keep their “spots” they better come in with activity. Swat is on the chopping table.

I’m sure you are right. The criminals constantly monitor SCC to see where the troops are being sent. Probably would have stayed and watched football if the teams weren’t sent to the west side

Special Ed is using the old "bait and switch" with special units. Taking from a units primary mission and "flood the zone" similar to what was done during the summer. Boy, that was pure genius. It worked perfectively, didn't it Ed. Your plan worked so well that we'll probably hit another 500 murderers again. Protecting the citizens on the north side is just as important as the west side. We see right through you. Go out and pound down a few more Hennessey's and take a nap again. You do some of your best work when you're in a stupor.
