Another "Merit" Scandal?
- Harvey police Chief Eddie Winters told CBS 2 Thursday night that the mayor placed him on administrative leave.
Winters said Mayor Christopher Clark informed him of the move by personal email. He called the move “totally unexpected,” and said does not want to reveal reasons the mayor gave for it.
Harvey Ald. Dominique Randle-EL said the mayor plans to discuss the reason for placing Winters on leave at a Monday Harvey City Council meeting.
Winters was a multiple "merit" here in Chicago before leaving a year or so after his car was shot up in 012 while he was headed home from a still unrevealed rendezvous, and now he might be out of another job.

In theory it wouldn't be nice to leave the Chicago Police Department for a Chief position in a local P.D . However, you should always max out your pension before you leave the Chicago Police Department in the event something like this happens. The Harvey police department has a history of systemic corruption and that should have Wade heavily in Eddie Winters decision to leave the department with 25 years on to pursue the Chiefs position in Harvey.
Hopefully E.W. will bounce back quickly.
It appears the rank and file strongly supported him in Harvey. Blaming him for the homicides there would be like blaming the commanders of 007 and 011. Some things about the hood are unfixable.

What really happened when you were "randomly" fired upon off duty in 012 that night? How did your gun disappear like that? Who was that girl? How many open sexual harassment beefs did you leave behind in IAD's file cabinets? Maybe your past finally caught up to you and even HARVEY didn't want to put up with the headaches and PR nightmare that came along with your tenure. Also, how did violent crime rates manage to go UP in Harvey since you implemented all of your brilliant (knock-off) ideas? I have more questions than answers. P.S. AMEN!! Couldn't have said it better myself! Running a family business myself (would love to be bringing in a million!!) and can't wait to retire asap. This job has become a liability, trying to avoid being the next headline. So many coppers make this job their only priority and it can be taken away, messed with, so easily. Good luck with your continuing business success and I hope to join you someday! The dept and city can keep this nightmare. One thing I learned is you cant be happy on this job if you're an independent thinker. They want koolaid drinkers who just say "yes sir" Out as soon as feasible.

To clarify slowtenant EW was in fact not an elected official, he was hand picked, primarily because he was a black CPD sgt and resident of Illinois district 10 and an acquaintance of old man Bob Fioretti. He was appointed because good ole Derrick Smith was expelled then convicted of bribery... you can't make this stuff up! Poor EW got a little confidence boost from keeping the 10th district seat warm for a measly 3 months or so, attempted to get elected but failed miserably. Caluris may have been a connect of EW but EW managed to get canned from cpic for 001, not bad for being a fuck up!
Most westside political elite hacks despise EW not because he's a threat but because he's a moron who leads meetings with constituents into the twilight zone. In May 2019 (prior to the Harvey gig) EW attempted once again to obtain that Illinois house of reps 10th district seat after Mrs. Ervin left to become city Treasurer. Why was he sidelined? Oh never mind it's a new era and Burnett's son got the seat. And why did he want this $60k/ yr gig? EW was desperately looking for a way out of his 011 house mouse assignment where he pissed off a lot of possibly wrong people.. UChicago consultants, Malinowski, donors, civilian employees, coppers... possibilities are endless!
Also, good ole Bob Fioretti hooked up EW with the nice Harvey gig. Fioretti does business with Harvey as an attorney consultant, I'm sure he put in the good word for him. Maybe EW will bounce back when Bob takes Foxx's seat. Other than that chances are EW is shit out of luck in 2020!

You see, this how it works whenever a drug bust takes place and say for a estimate of a little over six figures is the total the Mayor is to ASKED if the bust can stick.
