Now a fire hero is shot in Albany park.
People, they shooting up police and fire. This town is a hot mess. For real. Get those PAR forms out and transfer to the south side where it is much safer and crime is down. This will never happen. It would be a scandal of immense proportions just as the investigation into test cheating will never see the light of day. Way too many people involved in this and would lead to indictments and demotions. It will be buried.

When dealing with an exponential, the tipping point where there is no return is not visible until after the disaster. There was a point in the fall of Detroit where the city could have been saved. After that point, regardless what measures could have been implemented it would only have changed the trajectory of the decline, not changed the results.
Has Chicago reached its tipping point?
Only time will tell, but my eyeball view of this once great city is there is no turning back. No matter what is done, the trajectory may change but the disaster is coming. Baltimore is ahead of Chicago and I see less than 5 years before the final implosion there. Chicago, you MAY have 10 years. Probably less but who knows. Watch the price of real estate in communities abutting the high crime areas. As the price begins to fall, the flotsam will begin moving in and expanding. Then the next community, and the next. If you don't want to be a landlord to the flotsam, you better have a plan to sell your real estate before it becomes worthless. Look at the example of Detroit. Many landowners had to walk away from their homes because there was no value in them. Some survived and prospered by finding the right place far enough from the disaster where they could start over. But a bunch had to do a "Grapes of Wrath" and find new opportunity.
The best thing is living in the United States. We can still pick up with nothing and go someplace else, start over and prosper. And someday that will be Chicago again. But not in at least 2 probably 3 generations after all the Democrats and their belief's are dead and buried.
Will Mayor Lightfoot allow a score under 65% be the standard for promotions to Sergeant ? If people cannot pass a test , how can they supervise . Test is made up from CPD general Orders . Sad our Mayor will allow part 1 to be pass fail .
Will part two now be a wriiten short answer test to prevent a delay like CFD had .
Make it 4-6 questions answered in writing , maybe have them pick one to answer orally, give a copy of written answers and oral answer to test takers .

The passing score has been under 65% for years. I have seen it as low as 40%. The merit picks already knew this and did not even bother to show up for part 2. So, most of the command staff who are merit promotees could not even get a 50% score on a written exam based on our job knowledge; general orders, criminal law and procedure and department policy. Never mind any situational in basket questions that they did not even have to show up for. And, that included " Pillows" West.
A certain cheap skate running for Fop hands out white loose leaf paper with his agenda , while getting paid time and one half ? Also I thought it was protocol when running in any union to use a union printer ? Why is this dirt bag using the tax payers city printers ?

I would imagine the ones voting democrat are doing so because they are beholden to them for a merit promotion, or a hook-up in a unit.
Back when Alfred E. Numann was president, my precinct captain came to the house before one of the elections asking me to vote for the local democratic criminals. I told him since his party was failing to pay their part into my pension, but had enough money to give everything free to illegal aliens and layabout ghetto dwellers, and also destroying our healthcare system by implementing Obamacare, pushing us towards socialism, I would never vote for a democrat again.
Since then I have seen him skulking around the neighborhood from time to time, but he avoids my house.
Telling him, and the democratic party off was very therapeutic, and guess what, the garbage still gets picked up, the street sweeper cleans the gutters, and the trees get trimmed, although he probably reported me to the Stasi and had a brick put on me because he knew I was a copper.
And we now have a Liberty loving "republican" president, who can hopefully reverse the damage done by the previous administration, but he is fighting an uphill battle against democrats and fake republicans too. Never forget, there are a lot more like me out there, the silent majority.

You know I don’t know Gushes that well & maybe she does seek attention, but sometimes if you don’t give yourself a pat on the back no one else will. She helped me out years ago when she was on the review board (and I’ll add no one from the union showed up as promised). Gushes made a point of asking, “Why are we trying to give time when the officer was a victim of a crime?” So say what you will. I’ve got nothing to dislike about her. I didn’t take any time just as I shouldn’t have.
