Start Cheating Early

Widespread cheating on the Lie-tenants exam, lord only knows what disaster befell the recent fire exam, why not start cheating at the grade schools?
  • For students at some Chicago public schools, a standardized test that typically takes an hour to complete lasted, on average, for many hours over many days.

At one school, the five students who saw the biggest improvement in their math scores each took seven to 10 hours to complete the exam, and were allowed to pause the test as many as 19 times.

They were among clusters of students at 20 CPS schools who saw such large test score increases that the chance of a random sample of CPS students achieving the same result was calculated at less than one in 1 billion, according to a newly released report by the Chicago Public Schools watchdog that found “worrisome” irregularities — including “unusually long” test times with numerous breaks — in the spring 2018 MAP tests taken by third through eighth graders.

Students and staff interviewed as part of the investigation by the CPS inspector general reported “a variety of improper testing procedures. … This included everything from attempts to game the system to coaching to outright cheating."
We've been saying for years, if you reward bad behavior, you get more of it. In direct correlation, if CPS incentivizes cheating, you're going to get more of it.

If the people in charge aren't careful, Chicago will be cheating at elections in short order.

No wonder this place is a breeding ground for Machine politicians. Be proud CPS, you could not do a worse job!

And revisit CPSs bullshit "graduation rate improvement."

Counting the same sad, sorry-assed numbers
in a new way to fool the taxpayers into
thinking CPS is actually working miracles
with these mis-mothered/un-fathered,
upwardly fucked, feral children in the
CTU communist indoctrination centers
called Chicago Public Schools.

People who actually loved their children would
not let them attend these wretched places.

Too much of a chance of them picking up
corrosive shit and trying to bring it home.

The newest "trick" for dumb students is to have their
parents have them declared "learning disabled or
challenged" and thus they get to spend more time on
tests in high school & college. Too bad, real-world jobs
just don't work like that. Just try to find one. I need extra
time for this or that, but make sure you pay me the same.
SNO-FLAKE ALERT!

CPS Schools are a disgrace and the worst system in the U.S. next to Detroit! More and more cover up of sex abuse (sounds worse than the Catholic Church cover up) worst test scores and now cheating. I guess paying these teachers was well worth giving them a $100,000 a yr.

At the DC ceremony on Tuesday, During the changing of colors, Babs West saluted the flag with her left hand!!!! She quickly realized she wasn’t doing something right and then used her right hand. How many years on the job does she have on and how many times has she done this? What an embarrassment. No to mention her salute looks like she’s keeping the sun out of her eyes.

Teacher and principal evaluations are tied to the test. First, you need to stop this. Also, the people who watch over the test are the same teachers who teach the students. CPS should have teachers go to other schools to monitor the tests. The biggest problem is CPS uses the results as a test score like the tests most of us have taken in our life when in fact it is a test for teachers to use to tell where a student might need help.
Example: most of us probably have taken a addition test where everyone gets the same questions and you each get a score. That is not the CPS test.
The CPS test works like this. In 2018 you get questions you try to answer. All the kids get different questions based on what they know. If they answer the first question then the second gets harder. If they can’t answer the first question then the second question is easier. After the test is over they are given one score that shows if they are on grade level. The other score shows how high they are in a specific subject. Here is the problem. When you take the test in 2019, you are given a “Growth Number” which means the test expects you to reach a certain number and this is what CPS uses to penalize schools and teachers if the don’t show growth.
Example: two fifth grade kids take the test in 2018. One scores above average and needs 4 points to reach the test goal in 2019. The other kid is below average and needs 6 points to reach his goal in 2019. Let’s say the above average student gets his 4 points and the below average student gets 7 points but is still below his grade level. CPS will penalize the above average student because he showed no growth, even though he reached his number and is way above the other student. CPS rewards the below average student because he showed growth by going over the 6 points he needed but he still is not at grade level. I personally think this is a great test for teachers to understand the needs of each student but it was never meant to be used as a way to grade a school, principal, teacher or child.

One of the biggest ways parents are cheating the system in order to get their children in selective enrollment schools is to go to a Doctor and have him fake some kind of mental illness. The school is then required to make “Accommodations” for the student which usually means more time to do tests, homework, and other ways to make it easier for their child to get an unfair advantage over other students. It’s a joke. Most taxpayers also don’t know that many of these schools give certain students “One on One” aides to help them do everything. The waste at CPS is a joke.

What’s not surprising is the response from the CTU. Anybody guess what it is, a big “So wha!”. Makes you smarter that you’ve learned how to game the system. If that’s not bad enough, it’s everyone else’s fault because the system is racist and is holding back the students. How else do you expect them to achieve? Union V. P. Stacy Davis was on Channel 9 News and actually seemed proud of them. She said it actually showed that they wets smart.
And you wonder why there is rampant cheating on testing in every thing the City is involved in?

It’s the old extended time because it says so on the IEP scam. Parent would tell the child to “act crazy” to get the check for Social Security benefits. When the ruling first came into effect, Mama and Auntie were lined up and down the hallway asking us to sign the paperwork. Some was legit but most was for the cash.

Cheating, cheating.......nobody here has been cheating......... Are you freaking kidding me?
That's all this city knows is cheating. Cheating is how most of this department's command staff got to be command staff. Everyone knows it's true and they call it merit promotion. I truly understand that one's meritorious action during a highly notable or historic event could lead to a promotion but when some people are meritoriously promoted several times........I think they must have been a super duper Audie Murphy copper. Hell, I know merit promotees who can't and won't say why they were the recipient of such a high award.....like sleeping with the boss, sleeping with bosses, this goes for both sexes.
There were the two males, partners involved in the same major incident. One of the two has been meritoriously promoted........ twice......once to Sgt. and three years later to Lieutenant........for the exact same incident (non life threatening to anyone involved, no personal injuries involved, no mass contraband involved, no mass of monies recovered, no person saved from dire events......nothing of the sort). Even he can't explain it.......he spent a very short time in patrol after the promotions and put into very cushy positions each time. While the partner has maintained his original rank and had never even been suggested for promotion......by the way the double merit promoted one is really dumb as a box of rocks.......every unit he has gone to has wondered how he leaves his house everyday without a personal handler because be can't tie his shoes alone......he knows how to surf the internet.......but be can't do his job alone or make a supervisory decision. He is now awaiting a promotion to exempt rank.....

One bite at the merit Apple is understandable, but two, three or four merit promotions.......come on...This is cheating.......

Being promoted after being given the answers to a promotional exam is cheating......
Having your alderman or revrunds put you in for merit promotion is cheating......taking a promotion without even taking the test is cheating......

Having dead people vote in elections is cheating.......Having non citizens vote in elections is cheating......graduating student who don't earn the minimal required credits is cheating.....getting to a college to play sports and you can't even read at a third grade level is cheating......being the county's top prosecutor when having never tried a case is cheating.......being made superintendent when you never even applied for the job is cheating......a accepting a Nobel prize for not doing anything is cheating........fixing numbers for Compstat meetings is cheating.....wearing lifts in your shoes is cheating......
Where do you think these kids get it from.........?

Not only do they get longer on test, their scores and graduation rates usually are not counted with the others. Teachers like it became it makes their stats look better. Parents like it because in many cases it sets up a SS disability claim. I will never understand why we pay cash to disabled kids. SS is there to help cover wages you can't earn. Kids don't earn wages. Don't say they need it for medical expenses. If you are on SS disability you get Medicare. Most of these kids are on Medicaid anyway. It is just even more free money for baby mamma (or grand mamma)to blow.

If that isn't bad enough many of the kids keep getting the benefits as adults. Probably can't find anyone in their family that has actually paid in to SS.

Two thoughts. Some probably do because some I have known are better supervisors and police officers than some on the list. Sitting in a front office and studying for the test doesn’t make you a better supervisor
Second Being on the list doesn’t always mean you are smarter. Being given the answers, having a friend or two on the oral board, a parent or spouse that’s an exempt tend to make you score better on the test.

Never, ever believe the scores at any CPS. All of the scores, including the "selective" schools like NorthSide Prep, Young, Jones, Payton, etc. are lies. The students are "cherry picked" from neighborhood schools and then provided the answers. None of the tests are timed or supervised by a teacher or a proctor. If you believe that a large group of students whose parents can't read, write, or add can somehow be the brightest students in the state, well, you are a fool. CPS scores are lies and complete B.S.
