Cop Injured
- A woman was arrested Saturday after she hit a Chicago police officer with an SUV while trying to flee a traffic stop in Garfield Park on the West Side.
Officers in an unmarked car tried to pull over the Jeep Grand Cherokee about 8:10 p.m. in the 100 block of South Pulaski Road, Chicago police said. When one officer approached the Jeep, the woman sped off, hitting the officer.
The officer was hospitalized with a foot injury, police said. He was in good condition.
The woman, 25, was taken into custody without incident, police said.
"without incident"? You mean, besides the cop getting hit with a car, right? Asshats.

Why would a unmarked be making a traffic stop. With all the carjacking going on and a tight jeans backward hat CPD tried to stop me I would leave as well. Stop trying to be the police and bringing in BS numbers. Think about it next time. If your not in uniform you got no business making a traffic stop let the marked vehicle have that joy.
Isn’t that assault with a deadly weapon? Assault with intent to commit grievous bodily harm? It certainly was NOT an accident.

Cpd needs to get rid of SUV'S and go back to ford sedans. We never had so many officers in car accidents back in sedan days.

I don’t understand your reasoning. I mean I understand fetal, got that down real good. I don’t understand the unmarked having no business making traffic stops. If you’re going to be working nights in 011 (which is where and when it occurred) and you’re trying to get guns, especially in the winter, traffic stops are the way to get them. Boat loads of guns off traffic stops in 011. And the west side in general. So again, I understand fetal, that’s my favorite, but I don’t understand the sentiment that unmarkeds shouldn’t be doing traffic stops. It’s used as a means to an end not just traffic for sake of traffic.
PS, stop looking at the kids in tight jeans, you’re making everyone around you uncomfortable.

Car jacking are associated with traffic fool.. cant catch a car jacker unless you attempt to make a traffic stop on them, either before or after they commit it.

Traffic court will be harshest penalty (after 3 BFW’s of course) because the CTA Dot Cops will make her pay that $2 fare instead of a turnstile jump.

She drove over the officers foot with the vehicle tire as she drove away. Watch were you stand during a traffic stop or street stop.

-- If you're shot in the foot, it is still attempt murder last I checked. Cars are as dangerous as guns when used as a weapon. Location of damage is irrelevant.

Remember SUV's just like pickup trucks have a higher center of gravity and have a greater chance of rollovers during abrupt steering during any police case. SUV's are NOT designed for speed chases and pursuits.

Jodi Weiss, you should of stayed with the crownvics as police cars. SUV's are not efficient as being police vehicles.
