Another Miscarriage

This jagoff did thirty-one years, managed to jump on the Burge "bandwagon" abetted by Crimesha's refusal to re-prosecute the case, and a judge still refused to grant him a "certificate of innocence" stating in part:
  • .... declaring there was “substantial evidence” that Wrice “actively participated” in the assault.
It was a particularly brutal sexual attack, but that didn't stop a federal jury from being snowed by the now-plaintiff for an astronomical sum:
  • When all was said and done, jurors awarded $4 million in compensatory damages to Wrice and then added a $600,000 judgment against each officer.
Speechless.

Just another in the long list of court findings that make me want to do absolutely no police work whatsoever. Retirement can't come soon enough. Fuck this City, County, and State.

In civil trials the party that is believed only slightly more than the other party wins (51%). I wish someone would summarize the defense b/c the news won’t. How did this a&$hole walk away with this much money - there is NO way he could have presented any substantive evidence other than “cops bad - cops made me say yes.” What happened to the victim that I’m sure pointed this guy out. Let me guess - victim is now dead?

Wow! Juries nowadays are generally too stupid or biased to be sitting on one. There WILL be more of this.

This job is finished. 20 and out or sooner if you can. You get fucked even when you do the right thing.

That’s the ASSHOLES that they make judges! The judge steers the jury and actually has the power to overturn the juries finding for reasons of inconsistencies with applying the law! In the Judges comments he said the P O S took part in the crime!!!! Therefore the asshole was guilty, received sentence and now they award this PIECE OF SHIT a prize? NO WONDER THERE ISN'T CHAOS IN THE STREETS, OH WAIT THERE IS MURDER, MAYHEM AND INJUSTICE ON CHICAGOS STREETS!!! ONLY THE VICTIM’S ARE IGNORED!!!

As much as I abhor the antics of Lil Kim, this has nothing to do with her. It was a federal court and this happened decades ago.

Anything is possible when you are being judged by a jury of your peers. The police are not seen as truthful anymore and part of that is self inflected. It only takes one example of police truth stretching and you remember it the rest of your life. In my case it was a story used to convict a friend when I new for a fact he wasn't guilty. There are miscarriages on both sides of the law thats what happens when the lady holding the scale is blindfolded.

First and foremost, the attorney deserves so much more the 30% of the jury's award. The sexual predator Wrice should have to share the remainder with his female victim of the brutal sexual attack. Aftercall, if it wasn't for the rape victim, Wrice wouldn't get compensated for his criminality against a strong woman in violation of progressive women's movement doctrines.

The jury should have stipulated the original predatory rape victim be compensated for lifelong emotional distress suffered from the sexual attack. The sexually violated victim demands justice. The raped victim should being fairly compensated for her daily ordeal coping with this physical and emotional trauma.

If this isn't a civil rights violation perpetrated on the brutally attacked woman, what exactly is the enforcement of civil rights violations with its large court settlements reserved for? Certainly not the victim's of actual crimes like rape. But rather recidivists who know how the game the system and those attorneys seeking excessive personal profits at the expense of vulnerable sexually abused and violated women. The seated jury and the attorneys have no conscious or moral compass.

Not a good look when the detectives take the fifth in front of a jury. $600 k would probably bankrupt an officer getting 1990's pension money. A big hit.

Victims of violent crimes should seek monetary damages against the perpetrators of such crimes. The blog today has two convicted felons committing vehicular hijackings. Lets say these victims sue for ten million dollars apiece from the offenders and are awarded damages but actual victims can't collect at this time. Victims are discourage by lawyers to seek monetary damages cause the offenders have no assets.

Fast forward ten years from now where these felons sue for something and get awarded monetary damages from a brain dead, criminal sympathetic jury. Today's car jacking victims get paid after the attorneys get duly compensated for their legal misrepresentation of violent convicted criminals. That my friends is how justice would prevail. The attorneys get their cut up front first at their just lawyerly living wage rate. Then the average Joe not part of the legal system little people get what's left over. Who said crime doesn't pay. Attorneys always seem to "get paid" the most and they have the least amount of skin in the legal game.

The average citizen reading these stories has no understanding of the subtleties of how these guilty f’ckers walk. They see “oh, 31 years he did his time even if he’s guilty” & once an anti-police jury awards him money they think that means he’s proven innocent without a shadow of a doubt. What? A guy who committed a brutal rape & faces the rest of his life in prison has a possible motive for lying & saying a confession was beaten out of him? Impossible! What an abhorrent injustice to the victims. Where’s their award?

. declaring there was “substantial evidence” that Wrice “actively participated” in the assault. is there not a state law prohibiting a person from profiting from a crime ? in any event would not the victim have standing in suing the active participant, rather see the victim compensated rather than the offender, lower burden of proof in civil litigation and we have a federal judge fingering this guy,, where is the victim's lawyer?
