Where's Charlie?

Can anyone at all remember the last time there were two shootings, and the Supernintendo wasn't anywhere to be found?

Barb West handled the press for the CTA Red Line shooting and Fred Waller did his best impersonation of a clothing store mannequin for the 010 shooting.

Between the two shootings, missed Consent Decree deadlines, and the whole insulting the rank-and-file who weren't heavy enough to be clouted into SWAT, Beck has pretty much destroyed any national reputation he was hoping to build here.

Beck came in for a quick pay day, a few lines on the resume, and to see what connections, if any, could be made to bear fruit later. He did more to help the department by suspending merit for the time being than any superintendent has done in decades. The department has been fucked for so long that yes, that single action is more appreciated than any other enacted in recent memory. He even demoted a few exempt assholes for good measure. What did you think? He came here believing he could “un-sink” the ship (yes it’s already sunk)? You really believe a man that has reached his level of success is that stupid or naive? Stop hoping for that to be saved which cannot be saved. Just shrug your shoulders, say thanks, and move on.

I would not call Beck's short tenure here a complete washout, by any means...getting rid of merit promotions was huge.
Demoting Wodnicki (who should have either been fired or forced to resign) and Escamilla were huge. He accomplished more
in his 3 month interim Sput. time than anyone in recent memory has done in filling the chair. I just hope that the appointed (permanent) Supt. can accomplish as much, whoever the nominee will be.

Charlie and his sidekick were doing a Bugatti oil change.
16 plugs and about 16 1/2 quarts and about $21K because
you have to remove the underbody plate and the rear end
to get to all the plugs. Dry sump oil system, you know.
It's big bucks Legos for kids who never grew up. Charlie
saved a bundle because he is the 'DYI Guy'. And always
so precise! He measured the old oil in 5 quart containers
and added the exact same amont back into the Bug. He's

And I would consider this city to be lucky if we had a police commissioner the likes of Thomas Magnum or Frank Reagan. Getting rid of the merit was all he had to do to get my support. Also not enforcing the swipe in and out was good. I don’t know if people know this, but the superintendent does what the mayor wants. That’s his job. He was told to drop the charges on the CTA shooting. Look at his Los Angeles police shooting record. He backed the blue. Unfortunately here, the superintendent job is a puppet job. At least he got rid of merit.

He media there is a big story here. Are you that stupid or unable to write the story on the missing Police Supt Bozo Beck, because of city hall politics - YOUR CODE OF SILENCE. No wonder you're not trusted.

Murders, Police shootings, chaos on CTA, rapes and robberies and Bozo Beck is in LA. A National Police Executive missing in action. What a disgrace to the police profession and the Police Executive Board. In your weekend escapes from Chicago to LA you left the city in the hands of Fred Waller and Barbs (Pillows) West. That alone should get you dumped and send you packing to La La Land.

You and the Imp are telling us to "use every tool in are tool box". Are air line tickets and weekends off in our tool box. Once again the Imp shows her fat dumpy ass to Chicago with her double standards talking out of her mouth and her ass. Larry brought all this shit on herself and own's all of it. Hey Larry have another bit of your shit sandwich.

News Flash, Charlie B. Did not jack up this department....this department was way gone before he stepped on the stage. Dont let your Chicago pride get in the way of the truth. NYPD and LAPD are way more professional at all levels than CPD. Naturally, I'm not speaking of the small percentage of the "real police" on this job.

3/03/2020 09:34:00 AM

You surely cannot blame Beck for any problems in the CPD. Beck has a great reputation and I would take the LAPD way of doing business over the CPD anyday. Daley is the one who started the CPD on the road to hell when he turned a very good police department into just another patronage arm of the democratic party. Now, that is what is running things today. Beck would have to demote just about the entire command staff to unscrew things. I think there should be a formal selection process for a gold star, possibly submitting written essays on crime problems and an oral board ( not the one that currently is used ) all run by outside agency. I have heard the dumbest and most incorrect things come out of the mouth of some of these exempts.

Oh and if anybody cares....

Whoever is forced to take the Super job should be forced to watch Blue Bloods to see how police force needs to be run. Over the nine years of the show they have covered 95% of all issues that a Super would have to handle. The one difference is I have never seen a segment where merit promotions are involved. Today a Federal Jury ruled, on my behalf, that I did not use excessive force (Count #1) in my OIS in late 2016 (007). But they found me (the City) liable on Count #2 for a state battery tort claim (my second shot that killed the offender who I believed pointed a gun at me twice). I only fired twice in less than 3-5 seconds. There were no punitive damages awarded and the Federal Civil Rights Claim #1 (4th Amendment Seizure) was a not Guilty. But they awarded $1M for the battery claim. I can’t explain the reasoning behind the Jurys decision except that one or more individuals felt they needed to compensate this offenders family. I write this only to provide some context for my next statement...for all the young kids still “running, gunning & chasing” PLEASE STOP. You can be 100% correct and still face prosecution (civil & criminal). Civilians don’t get it and even when they do - they somehow compromise to the loudest voice in the jury room. Please be careful & safe. I wouldn’t wish these last 2 weeks on any of you.
