I remember when I was a PPO 12 years ago. I was riding with good ole Yolanda Irvin when she was a PO in the 006 district. A call of shots fired comes out and we just happen to be driving in that direction and were close to it. She immediately does a U-Turn and starts driving in the opposite direction. This is the type of leadership we have in CPD. I remember in the academy, some of the instructors mentioned there were coward POs in CPD and to be prepared because they won’t back you up. Well this was my introduction to a coward police officer in CPD and it was YOLANDA IRVIN. And look now, she’s a LT and I’m still a lowly PO. I will never forget this for the rest of my life.
