The "C" in CIT (UPDATE)

The "C" stands for "coronavirus" if you work on the west side:
  • in 11th district they are trying to mandate CIT officers to be the coronavirus response team officers
We thought CIT stood for Crisis Intervention Team. We apologize for this misunderstanding

We're told Commander HUD Fraud is trying to change the day off groups of CIT trained officers so there are imaginary "teams" that have some sort of magical powers to respond to coronavirus incidents, all while having no gloves, no respirators, no Haz-Mat suits, no sanitizer and (most importantly) no training in biological contamination mitigation.

UPDATE: This is citywide? What brain trust came up with this shit?

Hey FOP, how about a 5% differential for CIT people like the Fire Department gets for specialized training?

Oh great... Another "Hey look at me, I'm thinking

But for being so damned toxic AND dangerous,
they would actually be somewhat amusing.

When certifiable dunces are given the keys
to the vehicle of rank and authority, the
predictable end result is good people being
ground to disposable human hamburger under

Protect yourselves from THEM.
Give them NOTHING with which they

I'm thinking the "C" should stand for the "C" in "CFD." This is Chicago, and I'd expect a lot of financialy brittle businesses to get a bad case of "Corona Lightning." And, with not many businesses being open, where's an offender to go to find victims to stick up? (See, I remember my CAPS triangle. This is the old 'I.R. number in search of a location code' problem) Oh, and BTW, notice how it took a pandemic to knock Blago out of the headlines here.....

How many paramedics does Highland Park have? How many can afford to be in quarantine? Oh, and don't forget that Highland Park also handles the fire/emt service for neighboring Highwood - since Highwood closed up their fire dept...

This is a clusterfuck in the making. All of these EMT's ought to be in level 4 biohazard suits when responding to calls until this shit is over.

If that’s the case, why not let community members run the CIT program in their own neighborhoods? You know, like Safe Passage. Tio can head it up. With the liquor stores closed, they’ll probably be looking for something to do.

We have no training or equipment do deal with this kind of situation. What are CIT members suppose to do? CIT respond to mental calls that’s what it was designed for. Are CIT officers suppose to expose themselves to people who have the Coronavirus and spread it to other officers? The Department should be giving Coronavirus tests to officers to make sure they have not been exposed ( Proactive not Reactive)It only takes one being infected causing mass amounts of officers being exposed. Who will be on the street then? Leave it to CFD trained professionals. Why do we even respond to overdoses? CFD members on scene don’t even know why we are there, meanwhile we are fighting a back log.

The city and our lovely clownish exempt could make a program like this.

make it like special employment.

Have trainer go to open locations for training (McCormick place/ )

Pass out actual equipment to protect the officer mask/face covers glove plastic throw away suit.

Pay hazard pay/ overtime.

10 hour shift stage them at all 5 areas!!!

Or pay everybody for 12 hour shifts lowering officer immunity making them tired and exposing them for longer days in the filth stations and squad cars.

Taking care of the families of first responders is a big responsibility, you are the front lines of crime fighting and now fighting to help people with disease. With the family we have many police officers, and firefighters doctors and nurses in the family. We take care of the first responders in the hospital settings, yes this blog is very informative, we appreciate everything you do just like people appreciate the doctors and nurses. That being said we are talking in the hospital about all the closings, restaurants and all of the rest but yet the strange thing is why are the marijuana dispensaries wide open selling marijuana to recreational users who use it just to get high? Why do I say this here is why because we have patients that come in with diseases that use the marijuana with a medical card because they are diagnosed with a medical illness. Now we have patients that are getting there immune system compromised due to going to the dispensaries buying their medical marijuana but being subjected to the recreational users, who are coughing sneezing and everything else around them in very close quarters.

They say to keep a social distance which is 6 feet, you’re going to these dispensaries they keep about 4 inches apart which is ridiculous and will cost more and more of this disease to spread. We have talk to the governors office but that is falling on deaf ears just like the mayors office what is it about the Texas a medical weed I’m sorry the taxes on recreational weed that they will not stop this at least for a period of a month or so. They say they make so much money on the medical marijuana but yet they wanna gorge themselves under recreational marijuana where is a text money going anyway this is a health crisis so they say! The media is being quiet about it or as you say on this great blog crickets.

No matter what the family will always take care of our first responders we need you guys God bless you may God Almighty God hold you in his hands prayers for all of you and your families in these difficult times! Thanks for all you do.

Here was the email sent to all bosses over the weekend:

Subject: Fw: Incident Control Teams.

All,

As part of the Department's COVID 19 Response Plan, the District's Incident Control Teams identified in Department directive BOPSO 18-07 will be an integral part of the department's response.

Incident Control Teams are currently identified within each District on each watch per BOPSO 18-07. The delineated officers will be the District's first line of response to calls for service that have been identified within the CAD system as locations that have a subject with a confirmed respiratory illness. The addresses are being updated daily within the CAD via OEMC.

Upon being notified for a call for service at an address that has been identified within the CAD system as having a subject who has a confirmed respiratory illness, members assigned as the District's Incident Control Team will be dispatched to the call for service.

A supervisor and members of the Incident Control Team will be assigned the call for service and respond to the location. Procedures and protocols are being identified and will be forthcoming shortly.

What needs to be accomplished immediately is that each District Commander must identify 20 officers on each watch with a minimum of 10 officers on each watch who are currently CIT trained. These Officers must be balanced across all day of groups for each individual watch and may not have a scheduled furlough during the 3rd, 4th or 5th periods.

These Officers are going to be provided training and equipment to assist the Officers in their response to calls for service involving respiratory illnesses.

It is imperative that we have identified each watches Officers no later than 15 March and the list of identified officers be transmitted to the Office of Operations no later than 0900 hrs 16 March 2020.

Just to clarify please ensure each Watch Operations Lieutenant identifies the following;
20 officers per watch.

The officers must be balanced across all day off groups as they will need to be delineated on the daily watch sheets each day.
A Minimum of 10 of the officers should be CIT trained, again these officers should be balanced across the day off groups as best as possible. At minimum every day off group must have at least one CIT trained officer.
None of the identified officers can have a scheduled furlough during the 3rd, 4th or 5th police periods.

The identified lists of officers needs to be transmitted to the Office of Operations no later than 0900 hrs on 16 March 2020.

Once identified, trained, and properly equipped these officers will be delineated each day on daily work sheets as Incident Control Team officers and utilized within the District as primary response officers for identified respiratory illnesses.

Medical weed can now be sold outside pot shops — while some stores halt recreational sales — as coronavirus fears hit cannabis industry
https://chicago.suntimes.com/coronavirus/2020/3/17/21184358/coronavirus-chicago-dispensaries-cannabis-medical-weed-illinois

This state is incredible the governor is really a pathetic piece of shit just like the mayor still allowing all of these recreational pot people to go inside dispensaries and the medical people will be outside getting it delivered in the car closing restaurants but yet still allowing potheads to get their drugs. As usual we live in an upside down world or Democrats are everything wrong they have no clue with this virus all over the place they should curtail selling recreational bullshit. So now you’re going to have people that need it patience Pulling up in their vehicles and having it delivered outside while you let the dopers Inside. So I guess that means let’s infect the employees right? Agreed how much are these politicians paid off to keep this place is open for recreational users? No common sense but then you know the governor and the mayor are protected completely geewhiz I wonder if they will visit some of these recreational facilities you know so they can get a taste of the year possibly have been hospitalized with a virus.

The secretarial selections in 620 and 384 sound miserable, but the new district secretary in 004 has them beat. She says she is only there to be the commander's personal assistant and driver. She refuses to wear a uniform, even though every one else is ordered to, and shows up every day in her tight jeans and pony tail. The commander even confronted a sgt who showed up for work in a sweatshirt and swiped in, and he was told by the commander that he was out of uniform. Seems like his dolly is actually calling the shots. Her lips must feel like an industrial vaccume.

So we had to sign for a 4 oz hand sanitizer. Guess this is our PPE kit? As first responders we are now worth a travel-sized sanitizer? Guess we have to fight travel-sized problems?

Area North Detective Division each over site office was given a 4 oz hand sanitizer for each vehicle.

Old retired guy here. If I couldn't get a freebie from the job, I would buy my own protective gear. You can't "show" city hall by dying for the lack of a few bucks. How many guys have paid big money for an assault rifle that they can parade around with? If you're that cheap, write it off in taxes.

Why is Commander HUD Fraud not fired? This dept. is the laughing stock of the country for real like the other Commander who was cashing his deceased mother's social security checks all those years too committing a felony every month cashing that check still laughing on his way to the bank collecting that big pension.

Bandida? As many people in here can attest to, I am one hundred percent male. However, I do suffer from the same gender identity crisis that the vast majority of north side men suffer from.

Now, kees me you fool!!!!

The new secretary of the 011th district thinks she runs the district. Commander fraud can't get no one else to work for him as his secretary but NP. She has the worst attitude and she told use we can't get the hand sanitizer. No one wants to work for Commander fraud officers are leaving every chance they can get. He says he is not holding anyone back but he's a fraud and liar.
