On Election Day March 17th, appx. 400,000 voters either came to a polling place early in Chicago, appx. 800,000 Statewide.

Word of advice to everyone going to get N95 mask trained at Belmont & Western... When they put the hood over your head and spray the solution into it for the "test" part, when you put your mask on and fit it, NO MATTER WHAT, DO NOT say you "taste" the solution! Say you have a perfect seal! I "failed" the test because apparently I couldn't get a good enough "seal" and admitted to tasting the solution they sprayed, then I was told to throw my mask in the garbage can behind me. I do it, I ask "ok where do I get my replacement mask?" Figuring it's procedure to throw away all opened masks. P.O. says "you don't get a mask because you failed". They fill out a card saying you failed their (scientific? 100% fool-proof?) Test?! And I walk out without ANY mask!
So based on this experience (A.) It's better to throw out a perfectly good mask (they even tell you in the training that a worn, but not exposed to contamination mask is reusable if you put it in a paper bag) than to let me keep my just opened mask.
(B.) The city rather give you ZERO protection (by denying you a new mask and throwing your "used for 1 minute" mask away) rather than the 0 through 99% protection that a used or in their shitty test, not 100% sealing mask could provide in an emergency.
Who the hell thinks that its acceptable in a time of massive mask shortages that it's ok to throw away a perfectly good mask because I didn't pass your "test"?? The difference is that people using the Lakefront Trail to exercise and get fresh air won’t loot and use the pandemic as another excuse for criminal behavior. How’s about the mayor take a drive thru the west side - say around darkness and start threatening to shut those sidewalks down. I agree with much of what you said, but sergeants aren’t here to write tickets and make arrests. They’re here to supervise and guide. Let the PO’s handle enforcement to whatever level they see fit, let the sergeants supervise, lieutenants do their job and so on. I don’t want a lieutenant handling the duties of a Sgt much like I don’t want my Sgt doing my duties. Everyone does their own job.
