Thursday Protest

  • There will be greater than average rush hour traffic tomorrow [05 March] for commuters in Chicago. At 5 pm local time, a group is planning a disruption at the State and Lake Red Line stop.

The purpose of the disruption: to demand free fare and to urge the city to remove law enforcement from train stations.
"Free" Public Transit. Any guesses as to how that works out in the real world? And no police? We just heard a few hundred salivary glands kick into high gear. Wilding.com is reporting record traffic on their phone apps.

In New York, the transit authority ended up spending tens of thousands, perhaps hundreds of thousands of dollars cleaning up graffiti, repairing damaged kiosks, replacing card readers filled with glue and other mayhem.

We'll bet a thousand toothpicks right now that there will be some sort of order regarding No Arrests - if it hasn't been issued already.

Matter of fact, I’m not going to work tomorrow. Don’t want to deal with that BS.
And guess what, I’m still going to get paid

Why are the cpd actually down in the subway anyway? The CTA is a private company. They should hire their own security team and call Cpd for holding the offender if they want to press charges. Cpd should never waste their time in the subway doing the work for a company.

Some of those rats were protesting today. What a bunch of losers. They want free everything. They probably voted for Commie Sanders. Go ahead and take the police off CTA trains, these dumbasses will be getting their asses kicked and robbed by packs of wild youths. Give em what they want. Let it burn.

They should just shut the Red and Blue line down completely. If you need to get around, take an Uber. If you can't afford an Uber, you're probably one of the shithead jagoffs that's been ruining the Subways anyways.

Amazing how many idiots don't understand that governments don't make money. They can only take it from citizens and spread it around. Likewise if you use a government service and don't have to pay a bill, it isn't free, it is prepaid with tax money. People in the UK love to go on about "free" health care. They never mention they pay $6 for a gallon of gas, at least 20% sales tax and higher income tax. "Free" public transportation would have to be funded the same way.

Surprised it took this long. They get everything else for Free why not CTA. Transportation is a right? They think so and soon the pandering politicians will too. Nothing another round of fee and tax increases can't pay for.

Sanders is finished it will be crazy Joe against President Trump, God willing without a doubt we will have the biggest SmackDown of Republicans winning everywhere except of course in the most corrupt city state and county Illinois Chicago crook county. Everything free with strongly better parents are extremely rich and give them everything and when they go to bed at night they’re wearing Star Wars pajamas and mommy gives them more milk. Notice how the cowards all these organizations wear masks! Then when the mask is taken off they look like such punks like little kids they get really scared to then but they try to act so tough.

These millenials are volunteering for such a situation? Even the nordic countries are not truly socialist, they are welfare states for sure but the government does not control the economy.

Screw them, every copper assigned should find a reason not to respond. Get a flat tire on the squad. Call for R service etc. Screw the city, lightfoot loves her protest groups and wants the police to fail so she can destroy the department. Why lock up anyone when Foxx just drops the charges. If you have a chance to get injured, go IOD. FOP fat ass Graham should have a video crew at each of these protest groups to protect the union members.

Oh for sure, not even an ANOV or a snide stink eye will be tolerated.
Chief of Constitutional Polices must be having a fit.
Where’s Tony? Why ain’t he up in here?

Free public school, free public hospitals, free housings and free or affordable no out-of-pocket I-Bonds, so why not free rides?
Have the RedLine Feral been complaining about having to orderly line up and swipe that gubmint sponsored free CTA Ventura’ Card ?

Leave it to the 9-5 working chumps to pay the fare increases for that stank, crime and coronian’ virus sardine can ride to offset a pandering deal on behalf of the agitators. If theres going to be free rides, it won’t be in certain zip codes.
The corrupt and bloated CTA fraught with lower tier laziness could eliminate half of their excessive executive administrative workforce and have enough to pay for those free rides program. But those CTA revenues are needed to maintain the salaries and pensions for many former city hall alums. CTA is going to cave in. CTA takes in plenty of squandered Fed money that is never funneled down from beyond it’s executive branch.

Is Larri and Chollie back from their midweek hiatuses?
I know LightLoafer will be coming back from Toronto with a free personalized Blue Jays jersey to hang up in that empty space on the wall where she removed that offensive painting.

Yep idiots....I have a friend in Canada, the have 'FREE' healthcare too. Beside gas being expensive, a case of Coors Light is around $40....pretty much all taxes. He needed surgery on his knee, couldn't walk....bone on bone. This was in January....He told Doctor....'Ok I'm free the next three weeks'. Doctor laughed....said he can't operate until August....he came to US and paid cash for surgery. Idiots!!!!!!

Well actually the CTA always had their own Police Force with police powers in all jurisdictions that the CTA operated in. It was up to around 350 officers at the top of those days. They actually trained the CPD Force on pick-pockets etc., they were the best at it. When Mayor Jane Byrne was elected she did not like them and their numbers dwindled to less than 50 or so. CTA figured why should we pay for a police dept. when the city will do it for free. The remaining CTA officers were assigned to protecting CTA property (as security guards), garages, yards, etc. and were ordered NOT to make arrests, but to let CPD handle it.

Just sayin.....

You did mention that there was a Police get together, right? You were in the "good" area. Drive from DC to Baltimore and back, you will not be nearly as impressed.
