Sad, no Mass. People need to mourn their loss together. But maybe they could have a memorial Mass after the pandemic.

Officer Di Franco was a true "SuperCop". Never had the privilege of knowing him, but he will be missed. He was a giant in crimefighting and in life.
We need more like him.

To his family, friends, police family, my sincerest condolences.

Your family, friends and fellow officers will be in our prayers.

From the Boston Police facebook page

SHOW OF SOLIDARITY AND SUPPORT: With coronavirus concerns limiting the scope and scale of his funeral services, BPD HQ will be lit up in blue tonight to honor Chicago Police Officer Marco DiFranco, 50, the 1st uniformed Chicago Police Officer to succumb to COVID-19. The 21-year-veteran passed away on April 2, 2020. He is survived by his wife and two children: ages 7 and 10. May we never forget his service and sacrifice or the loved ones left behind to mourn his loss.

Now more than ever we need to have St Jude back on Michigan Ave and hear the sound of the pipes bouncing off the buildings and people stopping to applaud us. Use that day to remember this most unusual year.

The lack of acknowledgement of sacrifice of CFD and CPD by our vile and hateful Mayor is eerily reminiscent of Obama scolding law enforcement at the funeral of the Dallas Police true heroes. Where in gods name is our union and why 0 response?

I’ve been saying this for years and even brought this up to both current FOP President and those running for FOP office. They ignored and thought this was less important. We allow and babysit these fucking Troublemaking, fear mongering, race baiting, race hustling, Anti-Police Socialist, Communist, Terrorist “protesters” to march anywhere and Yet the police are hidden away in an area where for one, there is no easy access to for average citizens and the only on lookers are family and friends. So unless you ride the bike path or walk it this is the ONLY way you’ll see our Police Memorial outside of the current St. Jude March. Also, If you haven’t realized it takes longer to line up than it does to march / walk past the political reviewing stand. It’s a Joke! This location wasn’t suggested or given out of kindness and respect to our beloved police department, but by design. DemocRATS can’t go having the people of this city actually respect and love the police for what they do on a daily basis. Out of site out sight, out of mind.
