- A Wirepoints analysis of COVID-19 deaths from the Cook County Medical Examiner’s office reveals that 92 percent of victims from the virus had pre-existing medical conditions.*
The medical examiner’s database showed COVID-19 as the primary cause of death for 2,303 people. Of those, 2,112 were shown to have at least one underlying condition as a secondary cause of death. Those conditions, also known as comorbidities, included hypertension, diabetes, obesity and heart disease. There were no secondary causes reported for 191 deaths.
This finding is important because Gov. J.B. Pritzker has refused to release any statewide comorbidity data as part of his official Illinois Department of Health releases. Wirepoints asked for data directly from the governor’s office on April 21st, but we were told it was not available.
If someone isn't releasing numbers, it's probably because there's something to hide.
Nationwide, we've read that something like 60% of the fatalities were nursing home residents, but we didn't bookmark it.

Try to keep the overall numbers down till a vaccine is created or scientists figure out which drugs can fight it.
Another idea is purposefully creating herd immunity among those least likely to be adversely affected. That would mean let's say most women under forty and men under say thirty five or so. The isolate those at risk and work on that vaccine and figuring out which current drugs might help.

Now for Influenza anywhere from 291,000 to 646,000 die in the world per year. Using 389,000 as an average thats .004987% of humanity that croaks from the flu each year. Using a bad year of 646,000 its .008282% . And thats WITH a yearly vaccine thats 40% to 50% somewhat effective. So for 1/2 of Influenza it helps "somewhat".

Many of us are deficient in Vitamin D. An easy fix is popping a couple of Vitamin D3 pills every day, taken with food. I've taken this over the counter vitamin for years and seldom get sick. Low levels of Vitamin D are also associated with a higher rate of certain cancers.

Where do U work? I’m a cpd supervisor and never once have myself or my fellow supervisors in the district orders anyone to make a death automatically a covid death. Why would we do that? It doesn’t benefit us at all and could come back to bite us if we are just making out false reports. I think you’re a douche and no cpd supervisor ordered u to do such a thing. We've been running the numbers on the this since early March and started displaying the comorbidity data since early April. Obviously since Wirepoints is using the same data set as we are, we concur with their findings. Additionally, given the advanced age of many along with their 3, 4, 5 or more pre-existing conditions and the addresses of occurrence, we suspect they're not jogging along the lakefront or strolling the aisles of Mariano's but instead taking part in some sort of at-home hospice situation. This doesn't include the nearly 50% of deaths in Cook Co that take place in nursing homes. We read that the nursing home deaths account for over 90% of the totals in the collar counties.

I think it's unfair to suggest that these are Fake Numbers when listing like normal treatable diseases like Diabetes or high blood pressure are a legitimate cause of death as suggested in this article. We all know people with these conditions and they don't generally die of them.

I am by no means defending the way ANY portion of OUR government has handled this from the top down, however, your 7.8 billion count is for the planet & the 80k deaths is in the U.S. alone so the math is a little off. I believe this is being overblown & over reported when it comes to the causes of death, but the one number that stands out is that overall, deaths have increased in double digit percentages across the globe (With war/terrorism numbers removed)...some countries in the lower teens, some in the upper 20's. Until that increase can be explained otherwise, this virus gets the wrap. Good point, but nowadays with the family ancestry testing they can find most offenders or limit the number of suspects to a few. See it every week in the paper. Some guy gets arrest for a 39 or 40 year old crime because a relative wants to know their heritage

Unfortunately 6 out of 10 people in their 50's has at least one co morbidity. There is a strong correlation also between serious complications from Covid-19 and low levels of Vitamin D. Many of us are deficient in Vitamin D. An easy fix is popping a couple of Vitamin D3 pills every day, taken with food. I've taken this over the counter vitamin for years and seldom get sick. Low levels of Vitamin D are also associated with a higher rate of certain cancers.

I am a happy beat slug going into my my 28th year and have seen everything but never had to deal with so many suicides as in last 3 months. Over the years we’ve had to deal with, “Death Investigations” for the obvious Homicide Shell Game but now people are dropping like flies, but few from this Covid. Its inevitable the Suicides will politically fall into the Death Investigation Blackhole. We have multiple nursing homes and the inevitable sadness of dealing with the death of our elders is heartbreaking but to say they are dying of a Covid Pandemic and those choosing to kill themselves isn’t the tragedy are sadly mistaken. Hey Joravasky or Kass somebody there?

I was a supporter for years until I found out the CEO makes $150K+ a year. I’ll volunteer my time to fill that part time CEO position for free. The organization runs itself basically, no stress. My monthly donation will not resume until that outrageous salary is reduced down to a reasonable number. $150K+ a year to do nothing.. Let that sink in for a little bit. The extra money could help those in need!

Oh, she has expressed concern about ONE shooting death, but it is in the state of Georgia. The shootings and deaths here at home are just not as important to her. Two white offenders and an african-american victim in a different state are her focus, not the hundreds of african-american offenders and victims here at home. She has her priorities set. Shootings and victims here in Chicago ain't too high on her list.
Illinois has more cases, because some people and folks are hanging out at house parties, parks and street corners. ☹️
New York City has many cases, partly because of its international status. People from all over the world fly in and out for busines, family, politics, etc. 😑
