Sounds Familiar....Again

  • A surge strategy that shifts Chicago Police officers from low-crime districts to temporarily flood high-crime areas is a “recipe for disaster” that has left officers without backup and entire districts without supervision, the police union president said Friday.

Fraternal Order of Police President Kevin Graham has filed a grievance challenging Supt. David Brown’s decision to yank officers out of North and Northwest Side districts and reassign them to districts on the South and West sides without regard to “reverse seniority.”

But Graham said the new superintendent’s decision to “subvert the police contract” is not the only problem. So is the fact flooding the Englewood, Austin and Harrison districts with officers for at least two hours at a time is leaving huge swaths of the city without enough officers or supervision.

“Why should the 17th [Albany Park] District have … no sergeants available when you have an extra five in the 11th [Harrison] District? I thought the entire point of having the city engage in a consent decree … was to have supervisors watching what officers are doing. Yet, they’re stripping the supervisors and the manpower in those districts,” Graham said.
Then there was the political back-and-forth:
  • Graham also demanded hazard pay for officers; more frequent cleaning of police stations and vehicles; a testing station for officers at police headquarters; and mandatory testing for officers who have tested positive returning to work after two weeks in quarantine. He renewed his demand that police stations be closed to the public.

The mayor’s office fired back with a written statement calling Graham “flat wrong” and outlining what has been done during the pandemic:

    • The city health department has distributed more than 14,000 PPE kits — including N95 masks, nitrile gloves, face shields and hand wipes — as well as 297,000 surgical masks, 474,000 gloves, 725 gallons of hand sanitizer and 41,000 hand sanitizer bottles to the police department.
Which, as anyone who works in a District knows, is "flat wrong" - to borrow a phrase. The City has dropped (and continues to drop) the ball on gear. The media won't go to actual districts and see what's issued because they're afraid Groot might pull their Press Passes and deny them the all-important "access" to the correct parties, fundraisers and leaks of info to publish. The "leaks" are mostly lies as even the most rudimentary investigative effort would reveal.

That is a pile of horse shit because recently in the district there were no masks and the only sanitizer there is, is that expired one the city passed out. I don't know where they are sending ALL of this ppe because clearly they are not at the districts.

Let’s see....14,000 PPE kits? There’s about 10k coppers so those SINGLE USE kits won’t last.

297,000 masks? Single use surgical masks right? Let’s see, coppers need to change them out after a tour for maximum effectiveness. Meaning that’s 29.7 days worth of masks....seems like a shortfall of a couple weeks. The brass wouldn’t dare expect us to reuse, SINGLE USE masks....would they?

725 gallons and 41.000 bottle of hand sanitizer? How much of that was the expired garbage from NATO they pushed on us....

Typical city politics and lies....carry on.

My PPE kit was half-assed thrown together probably by a PPO (not blaming the kids) and the inventory bag it was “sealed” in was partially open. My N95 mask was given out a couple of weeks after the nonsense started, and was the only piece of equipment that was new, and they gave it only because they had to. I grabbed some rubber gloves from the cleaning crew, or the hospital if I get a chance. I did not receive a face shield. The unit has some bleach wipes. We’ve also kicked in and purchased some supplies on our own, including wipes, paper towels, bleach and spray bottles. I got one surgical mask that was given to the unit by (I believe) FOP. It was made in China so I’m a bit leery of that. At least it was in a sealed plastic wrapper. It was not supplied by The City. I was given a bottle of hand sanitizer, provided by The City. It was at least 6 yrs old and hadn’t been produced for years. The company that made it said it couldn’t guarantee it past the 6yr date. At least it was customized and had a sticker on it with my name. The City is so full of shit, but these “reporters” just lap up the City Kool-Aid and ask for more. It’s absolutely disgusting, and The Midget’s disdain for us is so blatant that even Stevie Wonder could see it.

The truth is, no one wants to hear the truth! Politicians are elected on lies history has taught us. Politicians tell the people that everything is rainbows, unicorns & bubblegum and they get elected! If the average taxpayer managed money the way the politicians in the state of ILLANNOY do, let’s just say everybody would be homeless, hungry and looking for their next handout. People are getting smarter, I understand that the people fleeing the state is on the upswing! Very few people and folks care if they raise taxes, re-elect the worlds worst states attorney and they definitely don’t pay attention to lawns, so haircut and jelly belly cut the shit!

More lies. But why isn’t there a location for first responders to get tested whenever they want??? All Lightfoot and JB talk about is “flattening the curve and how first responders are heroes BS” Well, then let them get tested without waiting for 3-4 hours with results back quickly. Hospital staff are on the front lines too and they can get tested at their work. Why can’t police and fire? Let’s “flatten the curve” right?

Because of fat boy and his edicts the following occurred which will ultimately put police/fire in harms way when going to jobs whether on the street or in a building. There’s no reason why a state wife list can’t be complied. The powers that be do it for everything else when they see fit.

“A northwest suburban 911 dispatch system failed in its bid to force Cook County to share addresses of coronavirus patients on Friday after a judge denied a temporary restraining order, citing privacy and discrimination concerns.

The ruling by Cook County Judge Anna Demacopoulos was in response to a lawsuit filed last month by Northwest Central Dispatch System, an Arlington Heights-based consolidation of 911 dispatchers at about a dozen suburban emergency departments.

The dispatch system sued the county, the Cook County Department of Public Health and its co-administrators, Kiran Joshi and Rachel Rubin, as well as Cook County Board President Toni Preckwinkle over the refusal to release names and addresses of people infected with COVID-19.

Dispatchers wanted that information so “first responders can take adequate precautions” when they run into coronavirus patients, according to the lawsuit.

At a hearing Friday, Demacopoulos noted that a list of those with COVID-19 could not be comprehensive enough to ensure first responders’ safety and could cause harm to residents.”

I’ll go on record saying I have just a little less than a year to go. I’m inside. I really don’t need a PPE but if I do I have it that should be the lowest standard for officers on the job. The actual best standard would be for officers on the street to have new N95 masks issued to them on a regular basis. An officer shouldn’t have to use a kit and not be able to get a new one. That’s an incredibly poor standard.

Patrol is loaded with many young officers who need supervision. Some of that is accomplished by veteran officers watching their backs. Some of it has to be done by sgts and lts. The PRIMARY responsibility on any supervisor in patrol is the well being of the officers on their watch. Leaving an entire district without a street supervisor, even for three hours, is a failure.

I got 2 pairs of gloves, a bottle of hand cleaner and a mask yesterday, at least 6 weeks into this virus. I got the PPE kit about a month ago, which i believe contains a mask, and the old santizer. if I had used that PPE mask I would have needed a replacement day #2, so I never used it. I still haven;t seen the area properly cleaned - though I concede I may have missed it. Did they properly clean?

I hear the Fire Department sends out their Hazmat team to clean firehouses when on of the fireman comes down with the bug. I don't know to what extent they clean.

He says he understands. But does he ?
Let’s see if he steps up and looks at the safety for all officers. And starts by taking assessment of PPE , testing for all officers, cleaning of cars and stations , By a professional cleaning company
T

Officers are buying their own protective gloves and masks
So we can attempt to keep our families safe

He gets the big bucks But hasn’t shown any leadership yet
I think it’s time for the families to flood the office of the superintendent with mail by way of the news Letter after letter family after family
Demanding better working conditions
And please. No bullshit. This is what you signed up for. ,!,!!

The media are liberal fools who either believe the official narrative of the democratic party or choose to ignore the reality of what is really going on. It is not on their agenda or part of the narrative that they want to write about to report anything that is adverse to what the mayor or JB are saying. Imagine watching the 10 PM news and a station camera crew actually walks through the 002 District lobby, heads to roll call and actually investigates the state of PPE at the station? Naw! I think the key to how screwed up the surge policy is rests in the fact that it violates both the intent and letter of the consent decree. Regretfully, the consent decree is typical Chicago BS and the AG doesn’t care, the monitor doesn’t care, and I suspect the federal judge really doesn’t as well. While the span of control issue was implemented poorly, it’s still there and should be followed.

Your entire comment, with this lovely ending, presents a prime example of just how the democrats have managed to succeed in brain fucking the nation's feeble minded masses.

Virus is versatile. Always mutating, adapting, adjusting, and reproducing itself.

All virus is of such nature.

So, this fetish mentality of "cleansings" doing dick squat to "beat the virus" is the method democrats are using to get you to piss out whatever brains you have ever had and to swallow their panic producing pimping of your ass.

The only thing that "defeats" any virus is your immune system, sometimes with medicinal/medical assistance and oft times without you even noticing it.

Steam blast the entire planet and you still will not eliminate virus.

Soak yourself in a tub of "sanitizer" and the sanitizer will do worse to your ass than the virus.

I, for one, do not pity the poor fools falling for this shit.

Paranoia runs deep...... within the feeble of mind......
