When Does CPD Start This?
Stop expecting police to fix what it took democrat policies decades to completely screw up. We are not and never should have been tasked with social work:
- San Francisco police will stop responding to neighbor disputes, reports on homeless people, school discipline interventions, and other non-criminal activities as part of a police reform plan the mayor announced Thursday.
Mayor London Breed released her plan Thursday morning.
Under the proposal, sworn officers will no longer respond to non-criminal activities and will be replaced with trained and non-armed professionals.
Fielding such a "force" of unarmed and trained "professionals" will be expensive and the logistics near impossible to figure out, but we look forward to it. And then, when they unionize (as all government workers do eventually) and strike, we can get a bunch of popcorn from Booby Rush and watch the entertainment.

You know they started a program like this in the late 70s or early 80s in Chicago with the Chicago Dept. of Human Resources. They told us in patrol that it was going to free us up as they would be handling domestics, mental cases etc. Well these political patronage employees made things worse. They would respond and then because of their incompetence they would call for a beat car to assist them. Then they would try to tell you what they wanted you to do. You could have handled the job originally and solved the problem without these nitwits. They were even assigned to criminal sexual assault victims. So when you arrived at the scene or the hospital and would begin to interview the victim and they would tell the victim they did not have to speak to you if they felt uncomfortable thereby hindering the investigation. They just made things worse. I donāt know what happened to that program as I had left patrol. This is just more libtard nonsense. But if they are going to handle these cases they should not be able to draw the police into their fiascos.

ām not gonna lie, this isnāt exactly what I expected ā lying here in the hospital. I mean, itās only a few broken bones, a punctured lung, and some stitches to the head, but I almost feel betrayed. Three weeks ago when I took the five-hour online course to become an unarmed rapid response social worker, I thought I was helping mankind. After all, with the police abolished, somebody had to be there to mitigate when people had inevitable disagreements.
My first mitigation didnāt go great. I was called to the scene of a bank robbery ā which, there werenāt supposed to be any bank robberies once the capitalist-driven oppression of the police no longer created crime, but this guy apparently didnāt get the memo, I guess. He was a Latinx male-presenting person about 5ā6ā holding a shotgun.
Thinking back on my extensive training, I tried to calm things down with a breathing exercise. But he just kept yelling and pointing the gun at me, which again, not supposed to happen. I told him that as a white cis man, I could never know the trauma the Spanish-speaking people suffered under white genocidal maniacs like Cortez, and while his desire to rob the bank was understandable, even laudable, we have collectively decided not to support such actions, and resources were available to him.
Thatās when he hit me in the head with the butt of his gun; I think it was the butt of his gun, anyway. When I woke up, I realized this job was not going to be as easy as I thought it would be. That was just one person, though ā one person who is really rich now. But to assume he represented the entire criminal class would have been the height of privilege, right? And after all, itās only money and a slight concussion.
The next day went remarkably better. I was called to a gang fight that was about to get very heated. No guns this time, just knives and brass knuckles. I suggested we all sit in a circle and use a feelings chart to determine what had brought us all to that place. I did not, of course, suggest that why I was there was for some inherently better or more virtuous purpose, and I think they really got it! They stopped fighting each other and stole my wallet, instead. Progress.
It was yesterday, my third day on the job, when things really got dicey. There were reports of revolutionary redistribution of corporate assets, which used to go by the patently racist name ālooting.ā I consulted my Rapid Response Social Worker app, and it advised me to start gently chanting, āHope is the thing with feathers.ā Dickinson. Itās a technique that was developed in Denmark to deescalate harmful situations with poetry.
The rest is a blur. There were a few baseball bats to the legs. A large glass bottle of something sticky, organic maple syrup maybe, was smashed on my head. People were kicking me in the ribs, and I saw a few people fighting over a Ralph Lauren down comforter they were stealing. I mean redistributing. The comforter ripped, there was chaos everywhere, and when I woke up in the ambulance, well, I was the thing with feathers.
This morning when I woke up, my supervisor was right there next to my bed. I thought maybe he had brought flowers or one of those shiny balloons from the hospital gift shop. But actually he had a long complaint form, detailing the ways in which I had failed in my job and failed the collective community. I was still kind of groggy. I didnāt catch it all, but something about a failure to recognize and ameliorate systems of oppression. Which, I mean, yeah probably.
Iām not giving up though. Nobody said this would be easy. They also didnāt say it would put me in the ICU, but thatās beside the point. We are creating a better world ā one where police, the real criminals, no longer exist, and more equitable forms of community support for need-based compelled law suggestion can thrive. Are we there yet? No, but once Iām out of the hospital and off suspension, Iāll be right back to work making America a better place.
An official policy that gets you halfway to full fetal. Why not???

A trained friend of mine, who passed away in 2012, help run an 'intervention' program with the Wilmington Delaware Police Dept. Social workers after undergoing training rode with units when they responded to domestic violence calls. Program ended about a year later. The social workers were not prepared to see the carnage inflicted on wives and children and others, including pets. One by one they resigned until the program was dropped. Lets see how long the Libs in SF will last.
Better hope 911 operator can tell which response team to dispatch. And that things don't escalate from "non-criminal" to criminal in a matter of seconds.

Example, Minneapolis PD was doing most things correct training wise. So it had to be police culture.

Nothing in the show, I didnāt watch the entire program, about all these mayorās involvement in department policies.
Nothing about micromanaging mayors that are the true leaders of these departments.
Finally, nothing about the culture of the criminal element. Nothing about the black community killing it self from within on a daily basis.
They even brought up several historical murder victims that were murdered by civilians that had zero connection with police.

When I was New on the Job I worked the Wagon for 3 years in 020, We were at Lake Shore Hospital Every day with Bi polar and Suicidal People,The Officers I worked with were Great at Talking people out of jumping out of windows and Commiting Suicide,I am Retired and am Proud of the officers I worked with and the Lives we Saved 2071.

Are there any upper or middle class working people who pay the high taxes from places like neighborhoods on the Northwest & Southwest sides or Lakeview, Gold Coast, River North, Lincoln Park, North Center etc. What about the law enforcement community besides that Cato, how about from the rank and file who are out there working everyday and know whatās going on. I have something for the suburban know it all white liberals and the university professors who always have the right answers when it comes to anything law enforcement related; sell your nice suburban home or your high rise condo and buy a home somewhere in the minority inner city and if you have children put them in the Chicago Public Schools. You will accomplish a few things by reverse integrating these areas. You will experience what honest, law abiding black and brown people have to put up with every day; gangs, robbery, burglary, rape, shootings, bad city services and poor schools. I think you will learn to appreciate the police a bit more and you will now have a voice to demand real change by locking up the thugs and demanding school vouchers and charter schools.
