Poor Reporting Again

  • Police are investigating after a 13-year-old girl was shot Saturday afternoon in the Illinois Medical District.

Just before 2:15 p.m., police responded to the 2000 block of West Harrison Street on the report of a shooting. Police said a 13-year-old girl was shot while she was in an alley. The girl was transported to Mount Sinai Hospital in good condition.

    Area Four Detectives are investigating.
If it's Area 4, it certainly isn't the Medical District.

A quick search of the 24-Hour Report shows that the shooting took place in the 3000 block - not 2000 block - of Harrison, which would put it directly east of the District Murder Capital of Chicago. And boy did we get e-mails about this one:
  • SCC, shooting in 011 yesterday while we were having Roll Call outside on the patio between the building and the parking garage. Bunch of shots go off at the end of the block making the lieutenant pause. In the silence - ziiiiiiiiing - as a ricochet or two go overhead. Needless to say, Roll Call ended pretty quick.
Another child under the age of 15 will be walking with a limp in Groot's Chicago.

This is exactly why these outdoor roll calls must end. They accomplish nothing but hold officers down and put them in harm's way. Any nut job with a death wish an do some serious damage

News media have been told to keep the crime reporting down so the Super failed team of Groot and Son's can give their weekly weekend summary with bullshit lies about how crime dropped and now they have a handle on it (only because the Feds are here)

Back in my day, yes, I am old and retired, we had the city news bureau . Mostly young cub reporters, but also some old time crime reporters and they would be on the streets at night and would show up at active crime scenes. Some of them would actually walk around as we canvassed in the middle of the night, and they would be helpful. Once in a while they would show up at the Maxwell St station and ask to use a typewrite or a phone. We were holding roll call one hot Summer afternoon when we heard an argument on Maxwell St and Morgan. It was a man ans women. We looked out the window and saw the women pull a revolver and put 4-5 into the man.Quickly arrested. No air conditioning so the windows were wide open and fans going. Part of the fun of working the inner city.

I've been waiting for a Baghdad situation for years, hopefully will keep waiting. We really don't want that. But making it easy for these domestic terrorists is foolish. This ain't Mayberry.

When bullets are flying, or when the NFAC is brandishing a poor array of weaponry and even less situational/muzzle awareness, meetings should be held inside!

The StayAtHome reporters rely heavily on googled charts and topography rather than venture outdoors in these challenging times. Even then they still can’t get it right.

Not much of alley or much in the south alley of that block that borders with Flour-Noy.
Heard Shot/Felt Pain.
Full community cooperation.
Sum-R-Mobile dispatched for general sanitation canvass and sprucing.
Case Closed.

For those unfamiliar with the territory -
2100 block of Harrison has the iconic IMD House of Pancakes Building next to Auntie Toni’s Always Full 7/24/365 Morgue.
2900-3000 corner block has CHA Courtyards of Harrison, Maxwell’s Polish, CPS Jensen Scholastic Skool and a parking lot.

Here’s a quiz; on that corner, which were open/working during the Covid’s Pandemonium and which have been CLOSED ever since?

Never forget, it's just "news."

Truth & fact are incidental, but not required these days. All the owners of these companies look at is the bottom line. It's a bad time to be a good journalist. And yes, there are a few.

__________

Blood money. Toni has to clear her conscience for all the murders and gunslingers she, Kim Foxxx, Evans and Dart set free to murder and main the Community again. Hey Toni, why don't you wad that money and stick it in your ass.

BTW: when you give that money to the community will you do it the usual way, in a bathroom in an unmarked envelope, under the wall of the next stall.

Never let facts get in the way of a good story.

With few exceptions,(none in Chicago,New York, or the other Democrat-run cities), modern-day reporters get their "news stories" from the internet.

In Chicago, they just parrot statements from City Hall.
