Exchange of Gunfire
- Chicago police officers fired shots after police said a 49-year-old man shot at officers through a door Saturday morning on the Far South Side after officers arrived there for a call of shots fired, according to the Chicago Police Department.
No one was hit in the exchange of gunfire that happened around 8:45 a.m. in the 11500 block of South Wentworth Avenue in the West Pullman neighborhood, according to police.
“Police returned fire without striking the subject or anyone in the area. SWAT team members were called in to resolve the situation,” the department said in a statement.
The man was taken into custody, police said.

In another place and another time my father was a deputy.
I was so proud of him and yet so terrified of a different officer coming to our door with bad news.
Thank God it never happened but I feel for these officers and their families.
But for the the grace of God...
On second thought, Lightfoot's idea of adding some social workers might actually be a good idea. Send them along with the police, then have them go in first, with the police staying back. If the social workers handle the situation, great. But if they draw fire or are taken hostage, raped, and slashed to death, then the police can move in and arrest the offender(s). The social workers should be advised to be sure their life insurance is paid up, because if these type of offenders open fire on armed police, they will not hesitate to rob, rape, and murder an unarmed social worker.
This will help protect police who otherwise are subject to being shot at through the door or other ambush.

The question is PhD in what? Assholes that think getting a piece of paper makes them superior to men that do the Job piss me the F*** off. I went to college based on 3 years working in a dangerous job and stuffing money away so as to not have to work in all weather around heavy equipment and covered in oil and mud. Looking at that life gagged me enough to say 'screw it' and joining the Army as a grunt. Came to see Law Enforcement as service that is the price of civilization and not something that gets in the way of a drug-induced good time, as so many college turds do. Bottom line is that a PhD in a candy major is just another asshole making 40,000 a year after spending 10 plus years of his life going into debt to pay for it. Anyone saying that he can be a PhD candidate while working a full time job in law enforcement is lying through his teeth. Only thing he can do is bail out one day on a medical and use that 'cred' to be a shitbird sociology prof at a junior college somewhere.
Just remember PhD stands for Piled High and Deeper
Reference the two deputies ambushed Candace Owens said, "'Why does this happen? Because pea-brained celebrities that are idolized like @KingJames tell young black men that they are “literally being hunted”,' referencing a May 6 tweet in which James responded to the murder of Ahmaud Arbery. 'This is the natural result of such hyperbolic, dishonest rhetoric. The racist, anti-police, black lives matter LIE is to blame.'
The Groot makes public comments and tweets about every black shooting victim in other states. Has she done so about the ambushed deputies? Nope. Groot is a hater. It oozes from her pores.
On a side note, lest we forget, keep thinking positive thoughts for Marine and Police Officer Robert Rialmo. If Groot has her way, she will continue to do him dirty. Groot called him a coward. And, where did Groot do her military service? She didn't. She has no right to say that about a Marine who served honorably. Hopefully, Officer Rialmo will prevail in the courts. Groot is a POS. F.U.L.L.
I have gone professional and college sports free... I even cancelled the cable... am using the next door neighborhood's wifi... I feel soo much better. You can too.
