We Are Not Fake Groot
- Mayor Lori Lightfoot’s office notified Chicago aldermen on Friday afternoon that somebody has been using a fake email account in her name.
“It has come to our attention that a fake Mayor Lightfoot email address has been created and emails have been sent out under this address,” the email to the city’s 50 aldermen said. “Please be very careful when opening emails from external, non-city accounts.”
In the message, Lightfoot’s office added, “The mayor will only use a city email account to communicate with you about city business.”
We have assumed for years (and been proven correct many times) that government officials at the highest levels have always used phony e-mails to conceal stuff that might be discoverable by FOIA requests, reporters, or House/Senate hearings.
In light of the many ongoing investigations into City Hall and its occupants, would anyone be surprised if a secret e-mail was deemed "phony" to cast doubt on some shady correspondence? We certainly wouldn't.

I attended a zoom neighborhood meeting about crime in the south loop. Over 100 concerned citizens attended. They were not allowed to speak. Questions were asked in advance and any questions critical of looters, tearing down statues, aggression of beggars, and other crime issues were not addressed. Sophia King and her sycophants were allowed to sugar coat the rising crime in the south loop with the commander alderen doing the same. When I wrote an email complaining about the meeting I was given a lecture about first amendment rights of Jamal green who blocked traffic on Roosevelt and Columbus for 4 hours chanting “f CPD” and having a pizza party, the over policing in the neighborhood, my racism for not acknowledging taking down the statues was what the terrorists blm organization wanted and why should police protect stone monuments and that the majority of looters were white including a blond girl from crystal lake. I was also told Lori told the police to stand down and allow this “peaceful protest” fantasy. This is why we will never succeed. Chicago is over. And Burke suck ass Pigott also allowed the favorite son Jamal Green to disrespect the law.

If memory serves the only IL pols that go to prison are Chicago aldermen and former governors. One can only hope that someday the feds will step up and bag a mayor or two but I'm not holding my breath...

Dude, how old are you? Yes the FBI needs to be in town to track emails. That you are able to post is amazing.
I would love to know why we need so many Alderman in the first place but even more than that some are working part time hours and making a ton of money. That being said they get elected by the community (by voting). When nothing is going on it’s easy to stay silent and be an elected alderman but that is not when we truly need them, we need them to speak up for our community now when things are not silent. There are great alderman such as some on the north side alderman napolitano and alderman sposato. This being said come on alderman Oshea step up for your constituents (yes mostly city workers).
You speak up when individuals come into the neighborhood that are not from the neighborhood and get hurt but yet you have not once spoke up and said that you back fire and police. Wake up constituents (voters) yes “we” vote in the alderman into there high paying positions.
Start speaking up PLEASE and give credit where credit is deserved!!!

It will all go to a burner phone that LORI LIGHTFOOT has but if she uses an open wifi spot on a daily basis her house and city hall she can be tracked.
DONT worry it is rare for anyone in the department to do anything with an Identity theft case unless it is an exempt who is the victim.
