Signs in the North Michigan Avenue flagship’s windows announce the upcoming closure, but the store remained open for business Tuesday.
The clothing chain has occupied the postmodern, Stanley Tigerman-designed building since 2000.
Gap representatives did not immediately respond to a request for comment Tuesday.

...the massive Pro Mat Trade show scheduled for April 12-16 at McCormick Place, has been canceled due to “local regulations.” Pro Mat brought in over 50,000 visitors to Chicago for the week. That is 1000’s of hotel rooms, 100,000’s of restaurant meals and other services all gone.
Not to mention the taxes this event brought into the city.
Lighthead has told the Trade organizations that she does not anticipate any events to be held at McCormick Place in 2021.

Looks like the nationwide goal is to shutter as many businesses as possible, large and small. That way, the powers-that-be can confiscate the buildings, make them state-owned, and rent them to special-interest groups and have state-run workplaces. Smaller business entreprenuers would basically just become state-owned cattle in a socialist society. All farm cows (state-owned workers) will be equally fed, housed, and watered as long as they are able to create product. Population will get an equal share of the production based on thier proven need. Excess product (profit) will belong collectively to the cows, but will be redistributed by the State in order to maintain the farm so the cows can work.

Hats off to Barry County Sheriff Dar Leaf. He is suing Governor Gretchen Whitmer over her trying to delete all the voting records for the 2020 election before he has a chance to investigate voter fraud allegations in his county, he alleges in a new lawsuit.
In the lawsuit, Sheriff Leaf et. al. allege that there is "massive election fraud, multiple violations of the Michigan Election Code," and other violations of Michigan elections codes. They also allege that Gretchen Whitmer was the brains of the operation, stating:

Whitmer et al, 2:20-cv-13134-LVP-RSW, that the multifaceted schemes and artifices implemented by Defendants and their collaborators to defraud resulted in the unlawful counting, or manufacturing, of hundreds of thousands of illegal, ineligible, duplicate or purely fictitious ballots.
Further, according to the lawsuit, Whitmer is currently in the process of deleting the voting records for the 2020 election despite Dar Leaf currently investigating voter fraud allegations made to him in affidavits from people coming forward in his county.
Whitmer is knee deep in fraud and accepting Chinese money. She wants to bring her state to their knees and then all of a sudden Biden gets into office and all these Chinese companies are going to open up shop and build all these factories and create all these jobs and everyone will be happy.

Does this city or state have a ReCall measure, like some states do? This should be an option for the “Real” Tax Payers of Chicago

There's currently NO measure on the books to recall any mayor of Chicago.

I am so glad the Notorious RBG had an over-inflated value of herself which kept her from retiring. Ultimately, she made it impossible for her buddies to grant her last wish. So sorry Noto! Buh-bye!

Chicago is definitely on life support now. Violence, taxes and the crew running the show will officially put the city to death. If you happened to work at all downtown recently or in the past, mentally ill , homeless people and groups of honor students are conducting hunting raids on random citizens. Tourists have and will not come back. If any of you had the chance to work the navy pier 4th of July fiasco, you seen children and their mothers hiding under tables and complete kaos. A few years back, a previous mayor stated “this is not your fathers Chicago “. He was a 100 percent correct. Shootings, murders, hunting parties, tax increases, morons given parking ticket books hammering what’s left, and leadership which is a complete failure. It’s a rotten shame that evil has prevailed here.
In regard to downtown, if you still live here when Gibson’s is replaced with a maxwell street polish and a dollar store next to water tower, it will be too late. Maybe pacific garden mission can come back downtown. City is a joke.

Problem when mayor , clerk , treasurer doesn’t understand how to bring in revenue . They think revenue comes from the federal government. No idea how to run a city .

Lori Lightfoot is mayor because Jerry Joyce decided to run to settle a score against Bill Daley - that's it plain and simple. Say what you want about the Daleys but Bill Daley would have been a helluva lot better than LL. And where is Jerry Joyce? No one has heard a peep from him since he screwed the pooch for Daley.

I agree that Daley would have been WAY better than LL and the asshole from Beverly really did just split the vote. I did, however, meet Bill Daley while he was running at a small meet & greet he did at the law firm that I worked at. Seemed like a decent guy--certainly the smarter brother--who was DISGUSTED that the city's crime was spinning out of control under a useless states attorney.
But then, one of his entourage asked him a question about the pension liability problem and Bill made a comment about the "55 and out for some of these cops & firemen is just too sweet of a gig." Note, this meet and greet was held less than a week after 2 officers were led to their death on the Metra Electric tracks by some shithead firing a gun.
I waited until the event was over and walked him to the elevator and told him that I am from an LEO household. I reminded him that there are 2 young cops who won't make it to the "sweet pension gig" because they were struck and killed by a train. Well, Bill looked at his minion who asked the scripted question, shook his head and said he was sorry. He said he has scripted answers about pension and he shouldn't have said that.

Agree. I had to visit Nordstrom up there. They had one entire entrance (the one nearest the purses) all boarded up. You had to enter off the smaller parking lot. After riots & looting in summer, I saw that they had armed police at their entrance (not guards but Skokie PD). They also had every single purse locked up to the racks.
