A 62-year-old man was killed in a shooting early Friday in Bronzeville on the South Side, police said.
He was driving a Volvo sedan about 3:15 a.m. in the 4700 block of South King Drive when someone fired shots, and he was struck in the neck, Chicago police said.
The man then drove into a vacant lot and crashed in an alley, police said.
He was taken to University of Chicago Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead, police said.

About 20 minutes in 2021 in 005 someone was interfering with the Zone and not allowing officers to get out critical information, as simple as their location. OEMC dispatcher performed exemplary. Luckily nobody was hurt or killed. CPD needs a revamp of communications ASAP. Lives will be lost if someone with a $30 radio purchased off eBay can keep officers from getting out critical information. Absolutely unacceptable.

Not my city. We had one extra murder this year but our population is skyrocketing with people escaping Democrat-led cities. They bring the crime with them.
