More Blame for...Dart?
It looks like The Contrarian dug up some info that the mainstream media couldn't - or didn't want to - regarding that botched warrant:
Officials in Cook County Sheriff Tom Dart’s office may have refused to provide officers serving with the Chicago Police Department (CPD) with information about an offender sought during an execution of a search warrant in 2019, the Contrarian has learned.
An incident that saw Chicago police officers mistakenly enter the home of a Chicago social worker, Anjanette Young, the Cook County Sheriff’s Office may have declined to provide to CPD the address of the individual sought on the evening police carried out the search warrant.
Sources indicate that the alleged refusal to provide electronic monitoring information to Chicago police officers serving warrants is a matter of deliberate policy under Dart.
[...] If it is true that officers sought the electronic monitoring information about the offender but were rebuffed by the Sheriff's Office, the onus of failure for the officers to serve the warrant on the correct home could and likely should shift away from the police officers who carried out the warrant and be placed at the doorstep of Dart’s office.
So much for "inter-agency cooperation" that might make law enforcement work for the betterment and safety of all citizens. Dart doesn't want anyone to know (and the media covers this up ALL THE TIME) how his Electronic Monitoring Unit is missing over 500 felons, including a sizable number of murderers.
That is why Dart hires spouses and children of all sorts of media figures - to keep them quiet. The number of six-figure County jobs for connected people has exploded while the jail sits empty and sheriffs are at at manpower lows.

How about the sex offenders that are wandering around ? Talk about a fail.
I was told a few years back the number of those AWOL from E/M was more like 850 +/-, from someone in the unit. Maybe 300 turned up since then.

Call me crazy, but could it possibly be that Dart's office doesn't divulge that information to CPD because they had no idea of the whereabouts of the individual in question, or the whereabouts of most others on EM for that matter ?
I have never seen the press try to cover so hard for such an unimpressive grossly incompetent politician. Hope that lady adds Sheriff to suit.
As the relative of an investigator in darts EM unit, I can say this is 100 percent true. They’ve shown me, to my disbelief
, emails from cpd as well as suburbs requesting info on individuals, only to be shot down by their director Carmen Ruffin. I once tried to get the address and phone of a guy we were to use as a CI and told by her to fill out some bullshit form that read like a 4th grader wrote it. Now my source in EM gives me whatever I need and it has worked out very well for my team and I.
I know a few Em guys from my county days and I’ve heard nothing but bad things from what was once a pretty decent unit. Word has it skinny and the sheahan clan are pretty pissed at what’s been happening there and might be making a move to get involved.
Ask any Detective about Electronic Monitoring. You call to get the location history of a guy on EM because he is a suspect in a robbery, shooting, or even murder and it’s a headache. They won’t give it to you even when you tell them the seriousness of the crime and why you need it in a timely manner. They are apologetic, it’s not their fault, but the policy is you have to get a court order. So, you have to go through Felony Review and the Grand Jury and then get the order over to the EM Unit. It’s mind boggling.
So all this nonsense could of be avoided if darts people cooperated with CPD? SMH
Well maybe CPD should stop verifying sex offender registration. Its the county’s responsability.
Dart and his minions only know the CPD when there is a eviction where violence may occur and had a experience in the old 008 years ago where they wanted help to put a cancer victim single mom and her downs syndrome son out of a house where some guy from Skokie bought the house for back taxes and we refused, they called for my LT, and he concurred with me and stated he was going into the station to call the Tribune and have a reporter come to the scene,thats when the Trib, had power mind you,,and never had to do the deed thank God
All this means is she will be getting two checks. Her humiliation payoff just doubled with this revelation. Her lawyers thank the Contraian for the help. Big donation check is in the mail for the info.

What is especially troubling is that all the comments I the Contraiarn article are TRUE. There appears to be at least one journalist Sheriff in town. It isn’t that they hit the wrong house. It’s that they made her stand there NAKED for almost thirty minutes while they conducted the search. Why? Who does that? THAT’S what has everyone in an uproar. I’m a law abiding black man who normally is supportive of the police but not this time. What those guys did was outrageous and indefensible.

Dart cons the media like a fiddle. Plays the liberal locally then has segment on laura Ingram as the lone savior crime fighter left in Chicago. Then plays the moderate roll smooching up to John Kass. Must be exhausting to be so bad at job trying to constantly convince others the contrary.

Dart should have never held this position. He is a joke of a sheriff and all his programs and policies have been a failure for over a decade now. SCC, you're absolutely right, there is a good reason why he hires family members that have ties to the media. It's absolutely astonishing that more media outlets aren't picking this up, with so many people awol he should be held personally responsible.
The sheriff's EM unit cannot handle all these offenders that are awol. Maybe Dart should take all if not most of the sheriff's police he sent to the south and west side to track down those who are awol instead of trying to play police in the city. Also, maybe he can get rid of all those worthless directors on his payroll and add more staff to the em unit.

Even worse I spoke to a IDOC corrections Sgt. at the state level & Gov. fatass has given an order to not coordinate any release into Federal custody from when IDOC releases an inmate. As a regular course of action the state runs inmates about to be released to see if there are any new/active warrants. If there are any State warrants the IDOC contracts that agency. They do NOT contact the Feds for ANY warrant listed. Regardless of which agency. Not just ICE but DEA, FBI, etc. why do the Feds. put up with that shit????

CHICAGO (AP) — A Chicago Police officer has been arrested for an off-duty shooting in October. Authorities say Officer Joseph Cabrera faces felony charges of aggravated discharge of a weapon and official misconduct. They say that Cabrera got into an argument with a person and then fired his weapon in the person's direction. Nobody was injured. He was also charged with official misconduct after allegedly lying to investigators about the incident. Cabrera was arrested early Wednesday and is scheduled to appear in court later in the day for a bond hearing
If you see these sheriffs on the street at anytime, chat them up and you can get anything you need. I just so happened to start talking to some guys hiding in a hole in my district and inquired about a couple guys and they gave me everything I needed. Exchanged numbers just in case anything else was needed later on. Fuck that subpoena email and all the hoops they make you jump thru. That’s all civilian policy by darts flunkies. Fuck that hack in charge over there and hopefully this lands in her lap if it’s true

Wow! You post twice in 10 minutes and you spell Contrarian wrong in both entries on SCC. Nobody could figure out you posted twice. You are probably some disgruntled reporter or columnist that is all butthurt because one of the writers criticized you.

This is absolutely 100% true. Even as the Sheriffs Police you can't get the EM unit to aid you. You can catch a guy with a leg band and they won't even come and pick him up or let you drop him off, they prefer you let him go about his business. The other county departments, such as probation, also follow suit along with this nonsense. Anything having to do with cooperating with law enforcement you're on your own. It's not the front line guys, its just their bs policy. To the guy talking about surveillance and garbage pulls, you obviously have never written a warrant for an apt in a complex with multiple units. A garbage pull is used when you can come to a rational conclusion that the garbage you're sifting through is coming from your target or target apt anymore than that is guess work and good luck with that OT. Surveillance is still the best way to go, again good luck with the OT.
