Crime is....Up?
How can this be? Here's what Wirepoints has to say about it:
In the span of just two days in early August, a crew of armed robbers hit Chicago’s Logan Square 19 separate times. That crew helped spike robberies 49% in Chicago last month compared to the same period a year ago. In the South Loop, hundreds of youth mobbed, looted and trashed a 7-Eleven, resulting in 40 arrests, all part of an increase in Chicago “teen takeovers.” And car thefts, after jumping dramatically in 2022, are up yet again this year by more than 100 percent.
Chicago’s crime wave is still on the move nearly two-thirds of the way through 2023. The number of total major crimes committed in the city through July is 34 percent higher than the same period in 2022, which in turn was 33 percent higher than in 2021, according to the city’s crime data portal.

Yes it is as Johnson has nothing to show or offer except to blow a little hot air around. And none of what he says specifically addresses a problem or providing a solution. He is not a leader. I see many parallels between he and Joe Biden. Both are bloviators that snow the low information voters with their rhetoric. They are not the brains behind the plan to radically transform America. You can’t install the totalitarian dictator's right away, you have to wait until there is total chaos. And they are waiting in the wings. And when that happens it’s too late.

Crime is equivalent to pouring gas on a fire. It will accelerate Chicago’s exodus of population loss. You have nothing if you lose your life to crime or get severely injured. Bad leadership on CPD comes at a cost of Victims in their wake. It’s nice to promote anyone but the job is no longer getting done. Incompetence is running rampant and the new normal in the Chicago Police Department that’s in chaos.
I’m waiting for Friday’s crime report to say crime is down! Crime is not only up! It’s out of control. With no end in sight!
They have been lying when they say crime is down. They should be sued.
North Side and Downtown going the way of the South Side.

I’m curious as to what the outcome was for those 40 yut’s court cases?
It seemed like after the Mayor’s Election no one cared in the media about crime. Every day I’m writing reports with victims who are in a hopeless state. I have written reports for the same people many of times. It is just awful. Nothing being done.
High crime across the city is the new normal. Now just move along.
Crime is not up so much, as Chicago is more descending into corruption, chaos, and anarchy.

It's really simple democRATs destroyed/ruined this city with their Obama war on police policies that's why civilized people of all races are leaving along with the businesses.

I brought the old lady down to be with her kids on her birthday. Lots of people out, I walked all over (river north is a little scary, had to cross the street once or twice), the river walk was pretty nice, then we were out of there at 4:00 and I'd be willing to bet the other people weren't far behind...
BLM BJ is certainly an overachiever, besting his two predecessors by a pretty fair amount. But this is just the tip of the iceberg. There will likely be fewer cops in CPD in a year than there are today, and the numbers will go down every year. Who would really want that job?
B.J. is going to have to own this eventually. The problem is that it will take several years for his ideology and resolve to crumble. Meanwhile, businesses and people will be dying in the streets in an unprecedented wave of crime like none before ever seen.
I do not believe that more police will solve this. Criminals are just too emboldened by a long toothless criminal justice system. Get tough on crime starting tomorrow, and it will still take generations to fix.
I do support more new hires. They are currently the only thing putting money into the pension fund.
Anyone else notice all the aldermen publicly complaining about how crime is up in their wards because of "migrants". Call me cynical but it seems like they are planting the seeds of a very large blame tree.
