Terminate!

We really need a new Department strategy...and soon:

  • As yet another armed robbery spree unfolded overnight, Chicago police officers saw armed men robbing victims on the North Side, but their supervisor ordered them not to pursue the offenders, who drove away and committed even more crimes.

The blood-boiling decision is sure to raise questions about the legitimacy of claims made by public officials that CPD has a concrete, collaborative and robust plan to end a months-long surge in armed robberies.

This morning’s spree began around 2:15 a.m. in the 2400 block of North Ashland. A man and woman told police that two armed men got out of a gray SUV and robbed them at gunpoint, Chicago police said. Cops later determined that the getaway car was a Dodge Durango stolen from the 6900 block of North Clark on Tuesday, according to a source.

About 10 minutes later, another robbery occurred in the 5200 block of North Damen. A surveillance camera operator in the local police district quickly spotted the Durango traveling in the area.

We aren't blaming the police for this. And we aren't blaming supervisors for this either.

An endless series of democrat "progressive" policies along with the national push to sue/de-legitimatize the police into inaction/self-preservation is finally coming to the fore and we couldn't be less amazed. In fact, we predicted it years ago...as did every other officer with half-a-brain.

Apprehension. Appropriate charges. Consequences. Extensive prison time. That will solve part of this issue.

And protections for the police doing the apprehending as long as they aren't deliberately disobeying directives and laws. That means charging the fleeing felons with everything under the sun, including Felony Murder should their actions be the proximate cause of bystander fatalities.

Meaning it'll never happen on Crimesha's watch. Or Evans's. Or Prickwrinkle's.

Let's see chase then crash then lawsuit then get fired for late bwc activation or in car camera mics not working. And charges not approved anyways. No thanks.

Well now, there's the problem right there.

Half measure solutions to full measure problems.

Nature is always full measure.

Humans pretend that they are exempt from Nature.

Even after Nature smacks them into a coma, or a body bag.

All the rules that humans can concoct will never nullify Nature.

The shitheads are doing what is natural to their natures.

We are not doing what is natural to our natures.

Protect.

The concocted rules forbid it.

And the shitheads revel in this.

Maybe the newly arrived 'migrants' are more inclined to naturally protect themselves and those they love.

"Smile and wave" that's the official chase policy. That supervisor followed the chase policy. Anyone who wants change can start by asking the Mayor to change the chase policy.

"Apprehension. Appropriate charges. Consequences. Extensive prison time. That will solve part of this issue."

Before "Apprehension", there has to be a chase.

Were these policies written by civilians with criminal records or police officers who were hired with lower standards. The current Chicago Police Policy’s favor the criminals and further perpetuate crime. Chicago is turning back to when police could be bribed to look the other way. With bad policy the police can’t be police. It’s equivalent to turning back the clock to 1929 with Al Capon, who had police on the payroll. Administrators have tied the hands of police, there by helping criminals.

CHICAGO (WLS) -- Close to 1,000 migrants are still living at police stations in Chicago, waiting for space in shelters. Mayor Brandon Johnson's Deputy Chief of Staff Christina Pacione-Zayas is in charge of the city's migrant response.

I think this says it all on what the politicians thik of the police and what they do to the police. I don’t understand why di they put up with this. The illegal aliens should be sent to the US Capitol, White House, Rock Creek Park, plenty of room there.

The balancing test tells me EVERY TIME that I should NOT chase on foot or vehicle. Those chase orders are written so that offenders can get away every time. Even after on-viewing a forcible felony at most I would only instruct the offender to stop. But once they begin to briskly walk away it’s a done deal. “He Gownnn”. Here’s your report Sir/Mam. This is the way to police in Chicago.

Police witness crime supervisor cuts chase. Sounds like a police problem to me. Time to stop all overtime since Monet being wasted with no active policing allowed. City may want to downsize force since all they are willing to do is sit on hands and observe criminal activity. Sorry but is it 100% police problem. If your so hamstrung by police policies who needs you.

Comment Troll! You see but do not learn. You read but do not understand. CPD witnesses the armed robbery and the sergeant terminates any chase. Chicago police detectives will now be assigned to investigate and arrest the robbery offenders. That's following enforced policy. Policy created entirely by a civilian police board and Democrat lawyers and politicians...not by police officers. (Restrictive policies have been rammed down our throats since Obama's DOJ.)
You get rid of the CPD and who is going to confront and fight the black urban warlords roaming the Chicago streets? You and the people who voted for this? Voting far-left has consequences. Keep your ignorance to yourself...or get your CCL and show us how it's done. If BJ and Kim Foxx publicly admonish those who point out violent crime then what do you think they will do to you? And before you respond you may also want to learn how to use spellcheck too Monet.

This rifle armed robbery crew should have been chased. Very little traffic, no pedestrian traffic dry clear conditions. After no balls supervisor said terminate, this crew continued their mayhem and pistol whipped a female victim. CPD along with the city should be on the hook for a multi million dollar lawsuit when they intentionally do not pursue a dangerous crew like this that winds up hurting or killing someone. And yes, I'm a retired supervisor who was in plenty of pursuits of really dangerous robbery crews.

Vehicle pursuit that ends in surrender:
"What a great job the officers did! The officers acted with incredible judgment and gave citizens of Chicago justice"!

That same vehicle pursuit with the offender fatally crashing:
"The officers have been relieved of duty. The officers flawed judgement is clearly a danger to the citizens of Chicago".

The moral is that coppers pay debt for the actions of the offender. De-escalation is a tool to blame the lowest employee, patrolmen. "What did YOU do that made the offender shoot"?

No one should be chasing. Teenagers are fleeing in cars that very quickly get to 100mph. They aren't driving a 1984 Chrysler Dynasty. The likelihood that they'll lose control and kill a pedestrian is great. They also have a confidence boost to flee because the week prior they were probably arrested for the same thing.

I hope you're enjoying your retirement. Hopefully it's somewhere far away from here.

Since you've been gone, we've had a few changes. Gps, body warn cameras, in car cameras, POD cameras to start.
Anything, any little fucking thing that goes wrong now is not only the fault of ALL officers involved, but supervisors too.

Let's say there's an accident involving one of the police cars in the chase.
Everyone in the chase, including the supervisors that are monitoring the radio are on the hook.

"Oh, I was just 'following' the car, not 'chasing',- that one ain't getting too far.
How fast are you going?
"35-40mph"
Yeah, sure... Gps has you at 75 & 80 on Division. - you're fucked.

Yeah, I know we have a job to do, and I sure the hell did it, and I'm greatfull that my finish line is really close.
But the rules have changed, and not for the better. They've changed in such a way as "dammed if you do!" Because it's your ass on the line, you're disclosing your assets, your partners, your Sgt's and probably a LT or two as well.

Then if you DO catch them, what happens with the ASA? Or in Court?

In the end, you kind of ask yourself "is it all worth it?"
Yeah, I know, it's frustrating as fuck not being able to do the job anymore, but that's what they want. That's what they're getting...

This is an extremely dangerous and violent armed robbery & carjacker crew. They have been victimizing multiple tax payers for a few weeks. If you look at this robbery pattern, I believe they have shot victims b4. Now pursuing is one of the most dangerous things in law enforcement. Based on the totality of circumstances and the balancing test etc, I as a former supervisor without hesitation would have authorized this pursuit. This crew must be apprehended. That doesn't mean CPD going 100 mph thru intersections. You be as cautious and safe as possible. Remain calm on the radio and give good directions. You could absolutely justify your actions. And yes I was in several pursuit. It's absolutely pathetic when supervisors are quick to terminate in this particular situation. It's also totally demoralizing to all The Working Coppers who are trying their best to make the city safer.

You don't have to look to deep to see why morale is in the pits. Your a proactive officer ,see a forcible felony occur & then is told to forget it.How long is it till you say "The hell with it,I'll just write the report".. And all threw the last few years has any upper level supervisor defended any officers involved in any actions & I mean by getting up & saying that was a bad guy & my men did the right thing. And I don't mean the mealy-mouth thing that Brandon said after the mob action the other night, I'm talking about the actions of the Oak Lawn Chief, who defened his officers actions in the face of hostile demonstrators. Maybe it should be "Respond,Smile,Write a Report & Leave"

Supervisors job is to protect his officers. Hearing the chase and knowing it would
Violate policy and stopping it before they engaged in a pursuit was the proper thing to do. By allowing it to continue doesn’t absolve them of any violations. Once officers understand this
Comments and posts like this won’t matter. Traffic safety board is not your friend and will lay the hammer down if that’s all that happens, more times than not, these crooks will crash into someone else and the civil suits will be in the millions and with any policy violations punitive damages will be sought.
